Paul Barnard came to Essendon as part of the Paul Salmon trade. At Hawthorn Paul was know for his rough work around the ground, which is something Essendon has lacked until recent times. He showed good form in the Lightning Premiership win, but suffered a knee injury early this year which set him back. He has played a few games around the ground and has contributed well since returning from injury.
