Gary O'Donnell is one of the leaders of the team. He has been with the club for a long time now, and in recent years has enjoyed some of his best form. He was given the honour of being named Essendon's Best and Fairest winner in our last premiership year, 1993. He was runner-up in the Best and Fairest twice - in 1989 and 1990. He is known as one of the best on-ballers in the league. He regularly picks up a ton of possessions, and uses them to effect. He represented Victoria in 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1993. This year has been good for Gary, once again creating play from around the packs, and gaining more possessions than any other Essendon player, thus cementing his tag at Essendon as "Mr Reliable".
