David Flood has had a troubling time with injury ever since coming to Essendon. He has been with the club for many years now, and as soon as he gets a regular spot in the team he usually injures himself again. He has shown himself to be a strong centre half back at times, whilst at others he has played on the half-forward line and kicked goals. He was tempted to leave Essendon in recent years, but was persuaded to stay, and hopefully the move will pay off for him. (Postnote: David retired at the end of 1995)
