The Society invites experienced demonstrators from other societies and overseas to demonstrate or conduct workshops for members.  This provides our members with first hand experience of the many different bonsai methods, techniques and experiences of our visitor.

 

2003

 

 

In the 2003 calendar year the society will welcome 5 visiting demonstrators.  All are very experienced bonsai growers and experts in their selected topics. 

 

 

20 February 2003                    Mr John Rash

 

John is a senior member of 3 Societies.  He also conducts bonsai classes at several venues including the Council for Adult Education. John also conducts the beginners course for our Society.

 

19 June 2003                           Mr David Allen

 

David has been growing bonsai for years and is President of the Bendigo Bonsai Society.  He is very experienced with collected trees and junipers attached to driftwood.

 

 

21 August 2003                        Mr Paul Sweeney

 

Paul is the proprietor of the Imagination Tree Bonsai Nursery and is a very experienced bonsai grower.  He will be one of the feature demonstrators at the 2003 AABC National Convention being held in Melbourne by the Waverley Garden Club Bonsai Group.

 

 

18 September 2003                    Mr Mark Beaton

 

Mark is one of Melbourne's young bonsai growers.  He is employed by one of Melbourne's larger Bonsai Nurseries; Bonsai Art in Keysborough and is a newcomer to the ranks of bonsai demonstrators.

 

 

20 October 2003                        Mr Brian Sampson

 

Brian is member of several societies and a very experienced grower.  Brian has demonstrated at many societies and conventions across Australia.  He will be one of the feature demonstrators at the 2003 AABC National Convention being held in Melbourne by the Waverley Garden Club Bonsai Group.

 

 

 

 2002

 

 

In the 2002 year the society welcomed 3 visitors

 

16 May                                Mr Trevor McComb. 

 

Trevor is the proprietor of Bonsai Art Nursery, Old Dandenong Road, Keysborough.

 

 

27 June                                Mr Hirotoshi Saito. 

 

Hirotoshi is a Japanese Bonsai Master who visits Australian at the invitation of Bonsai Societies to conduct workshops and demonstrations.  He has been invited this year by the Bonsai Society of Victoria Inc.

 

Through the generosity of the BSV Hirotoshi will make his third visit to our Society where he will conduct two workshops.
