	2009 Semester 2
Sunday 23 August	Therapeutic Gardens & Australian Native Sensory Plants. Paul de la Motte President of the Horticultural Therapy Association of Victoria presents planning & planting a Sensory garden. Everyone welcome. 2pm to 4pm at the Visitor Centre.
Saturday 5 September	Breakfast with the Birds, & Barb Longmuir (BOCA) & Ian Moodie (Parkswide) Come & help with our regular bi-annual survey. Meet at the Visitor Centre at 7:15am for 7:30am start. Bring your binoculars if you have them. Join us for tea, coffee and toast afterwards.
Saturday 12 September	Working bee. Help needed! Spring is in the air - all the plants (and weeds too!) are thriving! 10am to 12noon. Meet at the Visitor Centre.Everyone Welcome.
Friday 18 September	On the prowl for Possums & other night critters! 6.30pm - 8.30pm Meet at V.C. Please note: Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Bring a torch & red cellophane
Saturday 3 October	Working bee each Saturday in October 10am to 12noon. Meet at the Visitor Centre.We'd love to see you! Weeding degraded area of Blackburn Lake Sanctuary in preparation for revegetation and planting next winter. Wear appropriate clothing and bring gloves. Tools provided. Level, easy area suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Join us for a cuppa afterwards.

Sunday 11 October	Margaret Dacy Wildflower Exhibition. Display of Wildflower and Orchid paintingsand drawings. Celebrate the work of Margaret.At the Visitor Centre 2pm to 4pm. Official opening at 2pm. All welcome.

Sunday 18 October	Wildflower Exhibition continues. Display of Wildflower and Orchid paintings and drawings. Celebrate the work of Margaret Dacy.At the Visitor Centre 2pm to 4pm. All welcome.
Saturday 24 October	Working Bee ~ Come along and Make A Difference! 10am to 12 noon. Meet at the Visitor Centre.
Sunday 25 October	It's Bird Week! More Kids fun & games with the Sticky Beaks & BOCA. 2 - 4 pm at the Visitor Centre Everyone welcome, specially kids! The Wildflower Exhibition continues. Display of Wildflower and Orchid paintings and drawings. Celebrate the work of Margaret Dacy.
Saturday 31 October	Working Bee ~ Last one for Weedbusters. Please join us. 10am to 12noon. Meet at the Visitor Centre
Sunday 8 November	Short Walk, with Whitehorse Friends for Reconciliation, & Friends of the Lake
Thursday 12 November	Twilight Working Bee & Bar-b-que Last working Bee for the year. Thanks for your help! Now celebrate! 6-8 pm Meet the Visitor Centre Everyone Welcome
Sunday 15 November	"Snakes in the Sanctuary". Snake Safety and Identification of Victoria's most common and venomous species. Fred is back. Learn about our Victorian snakes & cuddle a python. 2pm at Visitor Centre. Please note there is a gold coin donation per person to cover the cost of Fred's presentation.
Sunday 22 November	Basket Weaving Workshop with Wendy Golden from the Basket Makers Association. There will be a small cost for materials. 2pm - 4pm. Everyone Welcome. Meet at the Visitor Centre.. This was unfortunately postponed from earlier in the year.
January	TBA Children's School Holiday Activities. Must book with City of Whitehorse. Details to be advised.
Sunday 21 February	Yarra River Keepers. Come and meet the Crusaders of our waterways. Hear what's happening, improvements and threats. Find out what you can do! At the Visitor Centre 2pm to 4pm. All Welcome.
Sunday 7 March	Clean Up Australia Day. Meet at the Visitor Centre. Registration 9:45am for 10am start. Finish at 12 noon. Here's an opportunity to do you bit for the environment. All Welcome.
