THE SUPREME COURT

From my office I can see
A work of art, of history

The Supreme Court, elegant array
Of arches that to the viewer say

This visual glory, it was planned
As a tribute to a monarch grand

Built-at-a-time-her-Empire still held sway
On-the-dome-and-columns the eye is glad to stay

Of Justice in this State the pinnacle
The Empire's gone, but here you are still

Some say encrusted, weighed down by tradition
Trying to fairly weigh The consequence of sin

Visage splendid, dignified, sublime
Long may you stand into a future time.
