"Power-walking" (by Laura M Guthrie)

Buttocks bouncing, boobs a-bobbing,
Striding out with pulses throbbing,
Heads erect and arms a-swinging,
Power walking, good health bringing.
One lass short, the other taller,
This one plump, the other smaller,
Wearing track-suits white and navy,
Reeboks, bouncy, soles all wavy,
Striding out, both non-stop talking,
Health fanatics, power walking.

One lass groping in her jacket
Ah, here it is! She's found a packet
Of cigarettes, and there's a lighter!
On she strides her day much brighter
Fumes from nicotine inhaling,
Wreaths of smoke behind her trailing,
Boobs a-bobbing, buttocks bouncing,
Attitude to all announcing,
In between the puffs and talking,
It's oh so healthy, power walking!

Young girl jogging, hair a-flying,
Striding up-hill, no denying
There's a trim and shapely figure
Simply oozing health and vigour.
Another jogger, red and floppy,
Looking like a wilted poppy,
Dripping perspiration, puffing,
Feeling healthy? Who's he bluffing?
Power walking? Jogging? Rambling?
Guess I'll stick to gentle ambling.
