You notice the breath Begin to refine
As to stiller levels the mind inclines
Outside sounds Are left behind
While the day's stress and strain Begins to unwind
And if the breath gets shallow Starts to go slow
Of some past tension or feeling We can sometimes let go
We stop playing games Just sit and be
Try from mental activity To be free
Except for the mantra Which we repeat
It may go with the breath Or a pulsing beat
Every so often It fades away
For a while in a thoughtless State we stay
Just simply enjoy things As they are
Serenity you'll find Won't be so far
