In afternoon As the shadows lengthen
Their motion over The earth does quicken

A replica of a tree May happen to fall
Across a pavement And against a wall

And if you happen To have time on your side
You can watch its progress As it slowly glides

These fleeting portraits travel traceless
Upon the book Of Time's big page
Each instant image Instant proof
That life is Change.
