Children line The Moomba route
Little faces Looking cute

Although without Its absent king
Melbourne's come To have its fling

The Chinese dragon, Bright and gay
The weather's kind, It's a sunny day

Girls dressed as fairies From a dancing school
Funny clowns All playing the fool

A man on stilts With a big top hat
There's a mouse And there's a cat

Cook Island dancers Wearing flowers
Enthusiastic applause do rouse

Bag-pipes echo Through the street
Hear the sound Of marching feet

People in Their national dress
Where they come from can you guess?

An earthworm from a Gippsland town
Coloured pink instead of brown

Living legends, Zig and Zag
The street is lined With Moomba flags

Martial arts, Tai Kwan Do
Through their paces they do go

The parade is over, But do not fear
Another Moomba comes next year
