BEND OF ISLANDS CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION

Where Is The Bend of Islands?

The Bend of Islands is in the Yarra Valley, about 40 km north-east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

It is in Nillumbik Shire. Before the local government re-distribution in the early 1990s it was part of the old Shire of Healesville, under whose auspices the Environmental Living Zone was established.
The map shows the location of the Bend of Islands and the Environmental Living Zone.

It's Official!

Bend of Islands is now an official location! The postcode is 3097, same as Kangaroo Ground. A wonderful party was held on December 3 to celebrate official recognition of our area as a descreet location. We are still served by the Christmas Hills Fire Brigade and many residents still collect their mail from Kangaroo Ground but the address 'Bend of Islands' gives us a special identity.

The latest edition of the Melways street directory has the area identified as Bend of Islands with appropriate postcodes, according to the proximity of the neighbourhood to postal centres.
