BEND OF ISLANDS CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION

BICA Field Days

A number of field days are held throughout the year and are hosted by a member or a guest. Field days provide a chance for members and friends to get out into the bush with someone who knows what they are talking about and to see things at first hand. They give members a chance to learn more about our local wildlife.

Field days that have been held in the past include
  • walks to look at spring flowering orchids
  • ferns of the Bend of Islands
  • fungi and their association with other plants
  • spiders
  • nest box construction
  • the geology of the local area
  • plant species surveys a visit to Alan Reid's property at Glenburn
  • monitoring of nest boxes
