A number of field days are held throughout the year and are hosted by a member or a guest. Field days provide a chance for members and friends to get out into the bush with someone who knows what they are talking about and to see things at first hand. They give members a chance to learn more about our local wildlife.
Field days that have been held in the past include
walks to look at spring flowering orchids
ferns of the Bend of Islands
fungi and their association with other plants
spiders
nest box construction
the geology of the local area
plant species surveys a visit to Alan Reid's property at Glenburn
monitoring of nest boxes
BICA field day, Sep '98, lead by Beth Gott
Field days for the year are listed in
the BICA calendar. Topics and leaders
will be announced closer to the dates.
