Advanced Balloonology with Michael

You've learnt how to make poodles and swans, now move on to teddy bears and tigers. 
Skills include Ear Twists, Plaits, Twirls and Tulip Twists.

Balloonology for all Occasions with Michael

Michael is fast becoming a fixture of the festival scene and is ready to teach you to become as twisted as he is!
Learn the basic balloon twisting skills including Lock Twist, Loops and Ears.
Shapes will include dogs, swans and hats.
With the festive season approaching, amaze your family and friends with your new skills.

Floral Choker with Christine

 

 

Create this stunning choker while learning a variety of stitches.  With its beautiful fringing and eye-catching flowers, this choker is the perfect accessory to any outfit.

The choker combines Ladder Stitch and Herringbone, giving a base for the flowers.  Flowers are constructed in Brick Stitch and Herringbone stitches. 

Kits are available in green/pink, blue tones, and white

Twisted Herringbone Bracelet with Christine

A casual bracelet or a touch of elegance?  It’s up to you, and it all depends on the types of beads used.

Constructed using tubular herringbone stitch  with a twist, this bracelet has an interesting twirly look.  Large beads are woven into the design and the bracelet is joined into a ring so that a clasp is not necessary. 

Kits are available in gold/black, green, red, blue or purple tones.

Christmas Stamping Class with Christine

Give a personal touch this Christmas by hand-crafting cards and presents for your family and friends. 
Learn some simple rubber stamping and papercraft techniques to create a Christmas card, gift tag and gift voucher wallet that will be sure to impress!

This class is suitable for beginner stampers. Materials and use of stamps included.

This is not a tutoring class but Margaret will give you plenty of guidance and ideas to help you complete those unfinished projects.

Drawing and Watercolour Painting with Gary


If you have a desire to paint and draw, come to our friendly class and explore a variety of materials and approaches.
If you already have some experience, Gary will advance you further, but no experience is necessary.
We will cover composition, drawing, line and tone, outdoor sketching, portraiture and still life. We will use charcoal, pencil, brush, pen, wash and colour.

Dates: Mondays, 12th October - 14th December

Felted Wall Hanging with Phyllis

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Bennettswood Neighbourhood House, we will be making a Felted Wall Hanging out of Merino Wool Roving (materials provided). 
In the first, workshop, Phyllis will teach you how to make your own felt square that reflects what
Bennettswood NH means to you.
In the second workshop, Phyllis will teach us how to join the individual squares together, adding thread and other embellishments to make the Wall Hanging a one-of-a-kind creation.

Felting Workshop with Phyllis


Spend an enjoyable day learning the ancient art of felting. 

Using your choice of colours, you will transform Merino Wool Tops into a beautiful felted creation. 

Felting is great fun, and allows you to create a one-of-a-kind piece of fabric that can be turned into wearables, soft furnishings, toys, accessories, wall hangings, etc.

Bring home a completed scarf, hat or bag at the end of the day.

Introduction to Stamping & Card Making with Christine


Welcome to the world of stamping, card making and papercraft!

Each week you will learn a different stamping technique and make a card and matching 3D project, e.g., memo holder, gift box.  Make beautiful gifts for your family and friends.

Leadlight & Stained Glass with Phillip

Learn the basic skills of Copper Foiling and make your own
lamp, sun catcher or glass box.
All equipment needed will be discussed and explained at the first class.
This course covers the basic leadlight skills and knowledge necessary
to complete a small piece & a major project.
Areas covered will include leadlight tools and care, glass cutting and accuracy, assembly, soldering, puttying, installing, and design notions.
