| Welcome to the site for the Bendigo Strathdale Rotary Club! Our
Skandia candidate Ky-el Mclashen came back from his weekend away
sailing with great enthusiasm, and satisfaction one of the main
highlights of the weekend was the hospitality extended to Ky-el by
his host family whom have promised to keep in touch, and include him
in future outings throughout the year. Our
International night held on the 24th of February was a
most successful evening. We were entertained by members of SIVA
Solomon Islands Victorian Association, with there own cultural
singing and dancing and very infectious enthusiasm $4,700 was raised
to help with the 2 projects we have undertaken for the people of
Oriere in the Solomon’s. One being a water and sanitation project
and the other with help from the national Council of Churches an
educational program to teach the Islander’s the importance of
hygiene for the wellbeing of themselves and their children. April
13th is a fundraiser once again with part of the proceeds
going to the Solomon Island’s water project and local drought
relief. in the way of a Musical event called “On the Road Again”
which stars look alike impersonators Willie Nelson performing a
concert when Roy Orbison appears for one last performance. This
musical is being held at the Capital Theatre in Bendigo at 8pm. We
are looking forward to hosting these future projects, as well as
getting our house in order before our Changeover night, which will be
held at the All Season’s Resort on Tuesday June 26th. President Jan.
