MEET OUR PRESIDENT |

|
George Ellis is our long standing President and a man responsible for the actioning of the innovative thinking in our Association.
We are proud of the monuments and plaques we have around our city that so vividly tell the story of Bendigo and it's debt to the Cornish who made it their home in the 19th Century.
The driving force behind these endeavours has been President George.
George and his late wife Edna were both recognized by Cornwall in the 1990's and duly made Bards of Gorseth Kernow.
It was only fitting that George has the Bardic name of "Map Bendygo" (Son of Bendigo).
An author of some note George has published four books: Two on the history of the Bendigo Fire Brigade where he has served as a volunteer for 61 years. Two on Long Gully which was the Cornish heart of Bendigo and where he has spent his entire life.
