This car was originally purchased by Greg back in 1984, he had been looking for a project for about 18 months, travelling all over the State, searching for the right one. This car was advertised in the Melbourne Trading Post and when he called to enquire was amazed tofind the car was stored less than a kilometer from his home, so he figured this must be the one. The advantage in buying the Chev was that had all the hard to find pieces like bumpers, lights and stainlesss, it was bought as an unfinished project, which Greg thought would save him time and money, how wrong can a guy be.

When dismantled it was found that the engineering in the car was very early '70's, so it was decided to completely redo it all using the running gear that came with the car.Moonshine Motors of Upper Beaconsfield were commisioned to rebuild the chassis, this included stripping the frame back to just two rails and a rear cross member. New boxing and cross memebrs were than fabricated and installed by "Stretch", along with a new notched HR Holden front crossmember. The idea was to get the car sitting a lot lower than the old setup.

The motor , a 307 cu.in. Chevrolet small block was taken to Peter Way of Dandenong for a rebuild, it was bored out 30 thou and remains basically stock, it now runs a Corvette pink cam. The two speed powerglide was rebuilt by Frankston Automatics and the the Jag rear was rebuilt by Greg.

A set of custom made headers and twin exhaust system was made by Dave Hall of Western Port Exhausts. All body work was done by Peter Monaghan of PM Panels Seaford, This included repairs to the left hand rear quarter and installation a steel floor. All of the original wood, in the rest of the body has been retained. The paint is Glasurit 2 Pak, Venitian Blue (a Porche colour).

The interior features new VL Commodore Berlina buckets up front and the original rear seat, covered in a Steel Blue velour. The dash has been filled on the drivers side and had VDO gauges installed, the original glove boxis retained on the passengers side. This was one of the "luxury" features of the Master over the Standard. All trim work was done by Arron of Tyabb Trimmers.
