Victorian Hot Rod Show
2008
A club stand was discussed between the club members
that were interested in putting there cars in the show and we "workshopped"
a couple of ideas. Our plan for this year was to do a "hot
rod shop" display. This way we could show the public that we
don't just pour water on our favourite hot wheels car and watch'em
grow. Dave managed to land a few sheets of iron from a local shed
that was being pulled down. Wayne hooked us up with the lengths
of 2x4 pine for the frame and a couple of hours later we had a wall
for out "work shop".
Then Jeff hatched this crazy idea to turn his steel and chopped
1932 ford 5 window coupe body into a chicken coop. which seemed
to go down great at the show and was such a simple idea. Marks mum
made us some chickens to put in there and we found some fake eggs
in a $2 shop. The rest of the display was made up from tool and
hot rod parts laying around (that's not another chicken joke).
The whole display took about 9 hours to put up and about 1 1/2 hours
to pull down. We picked up second club display for our effort which
I was happy with.seen as out of the 9 members that had input on
the stand only 3 had done the show before. I was hoping to knock
Southern beaches rod and custom club of but we couldn't. Congratulations
should go to them and the effort that they put in and to Geelong
street rodders, they pick up third.

Congratulations must also go to Kevin Kendall who picked up
Third roadster with his Yellow 1936 Ford Roadster behind two interstate
32 hiboy roadsters. He also towed in his Daughters (Kelly) 1929
A model Ford roadster for our club stand.
Jeff Murdoch also went it alone and put his new chassis on the
Johnny Z stand.
