He is seen as a modern day champion. He is an explosive midfielder and ouses courage. Paul Kelly has led the Sydney Swans as captain since 1993. His skill to grab the ball and excelerate is truly brilliant and he holds his opponents with such fierce tackling. In 1995 the boy from Wagga won himself (and the first for the Sydney Swans) a Brownlow Medal, he has also scored four club Best and Fairest awards, been named All Australian on three occassions and All Australian captain twice. Kelly always plays hard in the quest for victory, even when he carries an injury his level of performence is one that is very high. He is a perfect example of a captain.
