PORT ADELAIDE
Fos Williams started his league career in 1946 at the age of 24. He was lured to Port Adelaide from West Adelaide in 1950 as captain/coach. He was a stocky rover who would undoubtably become one of South Australian Footballs greatest asset. In his first year at Port he won the clubs Best and Fairest and was also leading goal kicker. In his second year he won a Premiership. But it was from 1954 that Williams and Port began their dominence by winning the next six Premierships. Foz Williams has contributed so much to South Australian Football and will always remain Ports favourite hero. The Foz Williams Medal is awarded to South Australias best player in a state game.
