South Melbournes, Robret John Skilton played in an era when South had little success but he made a huge impact on the game. Bob's great pace and remarkable skills made him a frequent target of the opposition. He played in sixteen seasons with the "Bloods"and in that time he became one of the most honoured players in the games history. Skilton played 237 games, won his clubs Best and Fairest on nine occasions, three times his clubs leading goal kicker, represented Victoria on twenty five occassions, captained his state twice, and last but not least, won footballs greatest honour, the Brownlow Medal three times.
