Rehabilitation Project (2005)

When the new Council committee of management was formed in 2005, the Reserve had not been actively managed for many years and areas along the creek had become infested with blackberries, ivy and other weeds.

Work was commenced in 2005, and with the assistance of Hillcrest Secondary College and New Gisborne Primary School, an area covered with dumped rubbish, blackberries and willows was cleared and replanted with native plants propagated from seed collected at the Reserve.
