Manager's name is Mike Newman. We last stayed here in 2006 and this is an update on that report. A delightful park right on the beach. This is mainly a retirement village, but does have 15 tourist sites, (6 ensuite and 9 powered) and there are also some cabins available. This park is close to public transport with a bus stop right outside the park making it very easy to get to the local shopping centres, train station, Perth city and also Fremantle. We have stayed here many times before and the service and standard is always high. The office is closed from 1 - 3.30 so would advise that you do not arrive between those times. If you stay 7 nights you pay for 6. Friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($32 2A per night, powered, off-peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, all level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, kiosk, disabled facilities, dump point. Peaceful, open and roomy, not enough shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean UC gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground, no pool. Suitable for month or longer, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Very nice clean park with beach front location facing west for some super sunsets
Dislikes: Amenities too far from all sites. Cleaning takes place between 9 and 10 which is most inconvenient as there is no other toilet facility available.
Parking: Outside reception
Local Information: A Latte set cafe right next door which does lovely breakfasts. There is a scenic coastal cycle/walkway that goes right past the park. For the very energetic we believe this path leads right to Fremantle, but we have never done it
Roads: Good

Manager's name is Mike Newman. A delightful park right on the beach. Our price was higher because we had an ensuite. This is mainly a park for cabins and permanents, but does have 15 tourist sites, (6 ensuite and 9 powered). This park is close to public transport with a bus stop right outside the park making it very easy to get to the local shopping centres, train station, Perth city and also Fremantle. We stayed here on our way up to Broome in May but have stayed here plenty of times before and the service and standard is always high. We had an ensuite site hence the higher fee. The office is closed from 1 - 3.30 so if you arrive between then you find your site and pay later, providing you have made a booking. Friendly staff, no complaints, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($210 2A per week powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. All level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. $31 per night with Big4 discount. This has to be one of the best caravan parks in Australia. Easy to find as it is close to two major highways but far enough away not to get traffic noise. The park is well laid out with large reception area, kiosk and parking area separating the sites from the road. Large toilet block with roomy cubicles, good sized laundry, swimming pool, camp kitchen and TV room, all in excellent condition. Some sites have large paved slabs, some on grass. The park is laid out with lawns and trees and has a very pleasant atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a bus stop outside the park for transport into Perth and a shopping centre approximately 2 km away. Liked – free bacon and eggs on Father's Day

Woodman Point Holiday Park, Fremantle
Right-hand side of Cockburn Road (the coast road), just south of Ocean Road, 10 kms south of Fremantle. The southern-most of three parks along that area. Ph: 08 9434 1433 or 1800 244 133. BIG4 member. No pets allowed.
Arrived on Friday night for a long weekend stay. On Saturday lunch time three loud couples moved into the sites around us. Despite a couple of polite requests from myself (and as I found out later a warning from the park manager) they kept making loud noise til after 11.30pm, and then did not finally quieten down until 2.00am. In the morning I complained to the manager. He was very disappointed to hear that they did not quieten down after his warning (and assurances from them that they would do so). The manager took prompt action to evict them from the park. Despite our difficult night, I was pleased to see a caravan park manager take decisive action. We will definitely stay there again, as I know that the park management will get rid of people seeking to spoil the good times of others. Friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, no sites with concrete annex slabs, shade to most sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by, kiosk, car wash, dump point, secure entry. Noisy, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean UC gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Excellent playground in good condition. Clean pool is open to sun, kid-safe pool area. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: A great place for kids, and for Mum and Dad to relax.

Member of the ASPEN Parks Group, which prides itself in the quality of its parks. Arrived on the Monday of a long weekend in the middle of winter. There were very few vans in the park but we were charged an excessive rate for the Monday night because it was a long weekend. When we complained, essentially as the park was almost empty, we were rudely told by a young lady in the office that we did not have to stay at the park, as there were three others in Fremantle. Found the park poor value. Our site was too short for a 23' van and we had difficulty unhitching. Amenity blocks were clean but required some maintenance. Average amenities. Average sites.

Karrinyup Waters Resort, Gwelup
467 North Beach Road. Close to freeway exit. 13 kms north-west of Perth. Ph: 08 9447 6665 or 1800 633 665. Top Tourist member. No pets allowed.
This is a big park, long and sloping downwards from North Beach Road. The top few rows of sites are terraced across the slope and are mainly cabins with a few powered sites. Then there are a few rows of powered sites, mostly with triple-sized concrete slabs. Further down are more powered sites, some with normal concrete slabs, some just grass, then comes the grass sites, camping sites and, down by a lake, unpowered sites. It probably depends on where you are allocated as to what you would think of the park. We were on about the fourth terrace down, on triple sized slab surrounded by a few permanents and long- termers. It was the Easter holidays and, where we were, fairly quiet apart from a few children playing and traffic passing the end of the row to and from the lower levels. Down in the lower levels it was very crowded with lots of children playing, the camp kitchen appeared to be crowded and, I imagine the amenity blocks down there would be very much in demand. That's a general description now to the facts: Staff friendly and helpful (on arrival you are handed a plastic bag with maps and other tourist information), we were guided to, and onto, our site. There are four amenity blocks, a camp-kitchen with a large congregating area with tables etc, playground, jumping pillow, dump point, one of the best pool areas we have seen with a large swimming pool and a very warm spa pool. There is an internet cafe (coin in the slot) and tour bookings are obtainable from reception. Overall it is a well maintained, attractive park and suitable for staying a few days or more, especially away from peak periods (we stayed 10 days).

This awful park is giving all residents notice to quit. The owner it seems has had park up For Sale for some time. Now we are faced with probably a legal battle with owner to get recompense if we have to move our big houses. We were just getting to the stage of leases & he has put up our rent to $120 per week plus meter reading fee $1.80. There are rarely any tourist sites as all are permanents. Very unfriendly staff, bad staff response to complaints. Price was higher than expected, poor value for money. Inadequate number of amenities, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was inadequate hot water. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs. Poor laundry, no rec room. Peaceful, not enough shade, too many permanents. No bbqs, no playground, no pool.

I had been offered a job not far from this park. Soon went some place else. The entrance to this park almost stopped us going in. There is a house (manager's) at entry. It looks neglected and extremely untidy. Yard has old cars & pieces of anything, including wood & general junk scattered all around. There is an open fence allowing all this to be seen by all passers by and neighbours. At other side of entry is another dirty looking yard with a small transportable there. This also had mess everywhere. No manager on duty you must ring a bell and wait. Our first call was the toilet, no toilet paper in any of the toilets. Showers block is quite large but old & not cleaned at all well. No sites close to toilets only permanent park homes nearby. They have 2 tourist sites and the rest is all park homes and on site units. Majority of the park homes etc., are very good & well tended. There are a few that are dirty dumps. Average staff friendliness, bad staff response to complaints. Price was as expected, poor value for money. Amenity number would not cope in peak times, were dirty, condition is poor. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, not enough shade, too many permanents. Cats running around. No bbqs, no playground. Dirty pool is open to sun, pool area not considered kid-safe.
Likes: The permanent people were friendly.
Dislikes: Just about everything. It's a pity it might be a good park with new owner. Wish we had known about Badgers site before we stayed here.
Local Information: Is in suburb, not too far from some shops & a large shopping center.

Neglected very old park, could be good with right management. Toilets were not well cleaned and had raised areas where floor had been removed and not replaced correctly. Only 1 block of toilets & the very few tourist sites were not close. A lot of speed bumps on the park roads caused some problems to low down vehicles. One neighbour said her little car hit the bumps every time. No disabled facilities at all anywhere in park. A few dogs were around, but there were many cats roaming freely and often cat fights wake you up at night. There are parks in Perth that are a lot better than this one. Poor management. Reasonable value for money. Average amenities, adequate number to cater for tourists, water pressure was okay, there was adequate hot water. Average sites, sites were level, the site size was okay. Laundry. Park atmosphere was okay.
Likes: Not too far from shops. Permanents were very friendly & helpful.
Dislikes: Only a few tourist sites, about 6. It appears to be neglected.

Perth Central Caravan Park, Redcliffe
34 Central Avenue. 7 kms east of Perth, turn off Great Eastern Highway just east of Tonkin Highway interchange. Ph: 08 9277 1704 or 1300 760 060. Top Tourist member. No pets allowed.
Access also from Boulder Street. Closest park to city, bus 5 minutes walk away. Very friendly reception, explanation of area, shopping centres, transport etc provided. Sites of reasonable size, concrete annexe pads and separate pads for parking vehicles, but sites not quite level and nearly everyone needed wheel levellers. Grass generally worn and quite a bit of dirt on sites. Well shaded, good water and sullage to sites, good water pressure. Covered tent area on ground cloth. Permanents mainly grouped together away from most tourist sites. Access roads are narrow and some are dead ends, experienced difficulty getting a 23 foot van on site. No offer was made to help us park, but would probably have been forthcoming if we asked. Amenities block clean and well maintained, central to sites, good hot water but temperature tended to come and go at times. Showers reasonably roomy, no curtains, mop supplied, soap at hand basins but no driers or towels. Amenities adequate for numbers in park. Good laundry facilities. Other facilities include well equipped camp kitchen with BBQ, dump point, telephones at reception, swimming pool, tour info and bookings, Internet access but no wireless. Close to airport but noise only heard if wind blowing from that direction or if dead still, and was never a problem. $33 2A for powered site before discount reasonable given location. Suitable for short or long stay. Would stay again.
Likes: quiet park, central location, access to public transport.
Dislikes: narrow lanes and difficult access to sites. Sometimes you cannot get in or out if someone else is hitching or unhitching.
