This was our second visit, the first we camped, the second we stayed overnight in the chalets. Chalets were clean and tidy and had all that you needed for a few days stay, including linen and towels. Camping ground was great with well marked bays, additional areas available if main oval was full. The children's playground has been updated and they are currently working on the paving around the pool area. Pool was clean. Amenities were all clean and tidy. Laundry room available. Restaurant and bar on site. Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money. Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, shade to most sites, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, no rec room. Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade. UC bbq, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting. Good playground in good condition. Clean pool. Suitable for few days.
Likes: Very quite site, all the stars at night.

Bindoon Camping Area, Bindoon
Behind the Post Office in the main street.

Managed by Bindoon Shire. This is not a caravan park, but rather it is a parking area with power/toilet and showers which has been provided by the local shire to assist travellers. A charge of $10.00 per night is charged with a maximum stay of 3 nights. We did not stay there but thought that it should be included as one of those extra small places to stay that you come across now & then.

Located approx 30km N of Toodyay, at the N edge of town. Ph: 08 9627 5220. Dogs on leash.

Manager's name is Annie. Bolgart is a very, very small town 50km north of Northam. This shire run park is extremely basic, as expected at $16.50 per night powered site. There are no slabs, and no onsite vans. Amenities are old, but very clean. With only 8 sites, they are adequate. Showers are large but have no dry change area. Bore water to each site is potable. Laundry is free. There is no TV reception, and phone and internet (Telstra) is only 1 or 2 bars. Playground is nearby at Shire Hall, no pool or BBQ. Road has little traffic and park is quiet, suitable for a 1 night stop.

Aragon St. Located on beach, 500m N of PO. Ph: 08 9652 7060. Dogs on leash.

Basic seaside caravan park with loads of permanent holiday vans. Disappointed at the amount we had to pay to cover our 2 young children. Average staff friendliness, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Poor value for money ($42 2A 2C per night, powered, off-peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans over 18ft, very few sites have annexe slabs, some sites are shaded, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by. Basic laundry, basic camp kitchen, kiosk, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4). Peaceful, open and roomy, too many permanents. No playground, no pool.
Likes: Close to beach and pinnacles. Good kids playground just outside park.
Dislikes: Many permanent holiday vans, all close to toilets leaving tourists to walk further to toilets. No sullage points.

A disappointment. We were put in amongst the holiday permanents and tents. The site was too short for our van and really struggled to get the car off the road. We were told we could park over by the fence, but not convenient to us. The staff did not seem to want to be there or help with anything. The shower heads face away from dry change area, but the dry change area is a challenge to enter. Only one in town close to The Pinnacles where you can't take your caravan. Unfriendly staff, average staff response to complaints Reasonable value for money ($35.00 2A per night, powered, peak season). We paid $33.00 because of Seniors Discount. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, basic camp kitchen, kiosk, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Quiet, claustrophobic park, plenty of shade, too many permanents. UC bbq (free). Good playground in good condition. No pool. Suitable for overnighter.
Likes: Close to attractions
Dislikes: The unfriendliness of staff and unwillingness to help
Parking: Would fit a couple of rigs off the road
Added Touches: Discount voucher given for Country Club. Fish cleaning table, boat wash-down area
Local Information: The Country/Bowls Club within walking distance has cheap seafood platters with local lobster, voucher given at caravan park $55 for 2. The Pinnacles was amazing but better than expected, must do the drive around them it is very well worth it.

There are no cabins with ensuites and only cold water piped into them. Average staff friendliness, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($80 2A C1 per night cabin). Amenity cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, mostly level sites, poor night lighting. Good laundry, basic rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk. Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. No playground, no pool. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, park is considered kid-safe.
Dislikes: For some of our stay we were there during a long weekend which was a huge mistake as despite their published rules of one car per site, the managers allowed many people to have two tents, three cars and a boat on a single site with the result being that 4WDs were parked in all of the access roads making driving around the park akin to negotiating an obstacle course.
Local Information: Great playground just outside the park and Nambung National Park with the amazing Pinnacles.

An older style park, rather run down and crowded, with many permanents vans that were mostly unoccupied. Friendly reception. Sites are grass or sand, a few with concrete pads. Good potable water and pressure, reasonable shade. Three amenities blocks, generally clean if a little tired, good hot water and pressure, one laundry with two washing machines and two driers. Amenities would be taxed at peak times. Other facilities include well stocked shop and cafe at reception, camp kitchen, free barbecues, fish cleaning. No toilet dump, dump available at refuse transfer station 1.5km away but open only in mornings. No pool, children's playground located just outside park. Telephone at reception, good mobile signal. Managed by Coorow Council. Very basic park. Big sites, all gravel, fairly level. Amenities are reasonable. Laundry with one wash machine. At the edge of town near to sports fields and next to bush reserve and railway line. Very few trains when we stayed in July. Pay at council offices in town, or at the general store. Likes: Price - from July 1 to September 30 you can stay 2 nights for the price of 1. Good value at $16.50 for the 2 nights. Peace and quiet. We could stay hitched with our 5th wheeler on the end site.
Dislikes: A few maintenance issues - some fluoro lights in amenities not working properly. External lights on amenities were the only night lighting, but this is quite sufficient. Our sullage pit was blocked.
Parking: Pull in and drive round to find a site - wide circle road in park, easy to manoeuvre.
Roads: Good bitumen roads into town.

The park is a fairly normal West Australian shire park and as such would certainly rate a 2, however at the time of our stay some of the site power poles did not work, none of the external lighting was working, there were no lights in the Male amenity block, there were tiles missing from the walls and in desperate need of a clean. On that basis I did not feel that it rated well. Friendly staff. Reasonable value for money ($14 2A per night, off-peak season). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is good, disabled facilities. Manager's name is Bil and Lil. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money ($36 2A 1C per night, powered, peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, soap provided, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Likes: Staff friendliness is excellent from when you book in till you leave. Everyone we talked to enjoyed their stay and participated in the barbecue on Friday evening and had hot scones after breakfast on Sunday morning. Beautiful bushland setting with tall gums and original farm buildings with sheep shearing shed. Late checkout is normal here. You don't have to be out the gate by 10am. Amenities consist of double cubicles which have individual toilet, shower and washbasin.
Parking: There is a long sweeping drive into the park, which allows multiple vehicles to park without restricting access whilst booking in.
Added Touches: Friday evening BYO barbecue hosted by Bill and Lil who genuinely enjoy meeting everyone. There are alpacas, sheep and goats on the farm which the kids are allowed to feed twice daily. Bill/Lil interact superbly with the kids, showing them how to feed the animals and pointing out the different personalities of each animal. On Sunday mornings Lil provides free hot scones, cream and jam at the camp kitchen. They are excellent and the jam is made from Gingin fresh fruits.
Local Information: It is a short distance to either Guilderton at the mouth of the Moore River or Gingin which is very picturesque country town. Gingin has excellent meals at the hotel. There are also two cafes and a bakery. The town has various shops such as Hardware, Bottle shop, Newsagents/ Supermarket (for your Lotto) and an excellent river park with old Waterwheel feature. Guilderton is a sheltered spot for a day by the sea. 4WD enthusiasts can get into the dunes or fish just S of Guilderton in the Wilbinga area. The Gravity Discovery Centre, 8kms away down Military Road is well worth a visit to learn about Einstein's theory of Gravity Waves. There is also an excellent 15 degree leaning tower to climb. Not for the faint hearted though but there is fantastic view of the local area from the top.
Roads: All local roads are sealed and in good condition at the time of our stay.

This park is far too expensive for what is offered ($28 per night for a powered site, cash only). It is part of a farm and the sites are basically in a paddock with power poles. The toilet/shower facilities were very quickly muddied because they were in the paddock. They would be very dirty if it rained.

Manager's name is Kaye & Harry. We stayed at this park from recommendations by fellow caravanners. As you enter the park there is a sign which reads "entrance fee - a smile". You are made to feel very welcome as soon as you arrive and if you enjoy a rustic environment then you will enjoy this park. Sadly it is becoming too much for the present owners as things are starting to deteriorate. We discovered that the owners have bought a retirement house and it would not surprise us to see this park on the market in the not too distant future. In its heyday it was obviously a fantastic park and with some TLC it could be brought back to its former state. This was evident with lots of electric cords going in all directions instead of adequate power points. If two vans were coming off the same power box then the power would constantly trip. The first night the shower was cold but the owners were on to this the next morning before we even had time to report the problem. Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was higher than expected, reasonable value for money ($28 2A per night, powered, shoulder season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, large sites, drive-through sites, poor water quality, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. basic laundry, no rec room, late checkout allowed (past noon), disabled facilities, car wash, dump point. Peaceful, open and roomy, not enough shade, family/friendly atmosphere, no permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground, no pool. Suitable for a few days, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Very welcoming owners.
Dislikes: The dry change area in the showers is always wet as the shower curtains are too short and the price at $28 per night is far too high for what you get. Although there are a single ladies, gents, and disabled toilet, the main amenity block is closed between 10.30 and 2.30 every day.
Parking: Out the front
Added Touches: Unlimited free beautiful scones, jam and cream on Sundays and BYO BBQ on Friday nights.
Local Information: The Gravity Centre and Cosmos Centre are just around the corner and well worth visiting. Gingin, Guilderton and Twin Rocks are all within easy distance.
Roads: Good

94kms N of Perth. At the mouth of the Moore River, 500m S of PO. Turn right at the service station and follow the signs to 2 Dewar St. Ph: 08 9577 1021. No pets allowed.

Council owned, but hosted by Jarrad and Danielle. Friendly reception, given a map and copious "rule book". Most of park is flat, but tent sites are on terraces at the back of the park. On the flat, sites are level and well shaded and the front rows newly turfed, making a pleasant change from sand and gravel. Concrete pad on each site, on which you park your van, with awning and car on the grass. Good potable water and sullage to sites, driveways a little narrow and of yellow sand. Central amenities block, modern and well maintained, with warm outdoor showers for removal of sand after swimming. Should be adequate for all except very peak times. Accessed by same magnetic key used to open boom gate. Shower cubicles are partitioned off inside the amenities, with some being closed off during the day to avoid too much sand going into drains. Cubicles varied in size, some roomy with a bench, others restricted in size and no bench. Good hot water and pressure, no curtains, mop provided, hand driers but no soap, Other facilities include camp kitchen, gas refills, recreation room, barbecue area, dump point. Public telephone and children's playground located just outside park. Mobile phone signal good in some parts of park, non-existent in others. cafe with takeaways and small general store located just outside park, another store and service station with bakery located at entrance to town. Price of $27 2A for powered site considered reasonable. Suitable for short or long term stay, would be very crowded during summer holidays.

Turn off Brand Hwy approx 23 km N of Badgingarra, about 28km past Cervantes. Roberts Road, 300m NE of PO. The park is on the beach side of Bashford Street, entrance via Roberts Street at the beach end of the street. Ph: 08 9652 1595. Top Tourist member. Dogs on leash. Pets not permitted during peak times. Only in your own caravan or tent. Bond applies.

Fantastic location as all shops are an easy walk from the park. Amenities were kept spotless. Free gas BBQ's located all around the park. Giant jumping pillow for the kids. We stayed here a week and I wish I had the time to stay longer. Advise if you have a camp trailer the tent sites are not big enough; we could only squeeze ours in with no room for parking. Advise you to pay a little more for a powered site as it has both room for your car also. Staff very friendly and we were fortunate that the park wasn't packed so we were able to park our car on the neighbouring site. Beautiful place to stay; can't wait to go back. Basic camp kitchen with one toaster and microwave and one fridge. Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money ($32 2A, unpowered, peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people.

Medium sized park, mainly cabins and old on-site caravans. Reception staff very abrupt. Tourist sites small to medium in size. We paid $38.00 for the first 2 nights (due to school holidays) and $33.00 for the next 3 nights. With Top Tourist discount this averaged out to $31.50 per night. There are 2 amenity blocks - 1 is in reasonable condition and the other is in need of refurbishment. Soap and hand dryers provided. 2 basic laundries and 2 camp kitchens with free BBQ's. There is a jumping pillow but no playground (although there are 2 just outside the park). No swimming pool.
Likes: The park is very well placed right across the road from the beach, new jetty and shops.
Dislikes: The dry areas in the showers and the toilet cubicles are very small. Cleanliness is reasonable although the ceilings and extractor fans would benefit from an occasional clean. The Jumping Pillow is blown up far too early in the morning.
Things to do and see: Lesueur National Park, The Pinnacles, Green Head, Cervantes, Fishing. Good cycle/walking track along the waterfront.

Lovely location in the middle of a pretty little beach town excellent children's playground outside the park on the beach; good jetty to fish from is also just outside the park. Friendly staff, average staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money ($33 2A per night, powered). We paid $29.70 because of Top Tourist member. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, kiosk, dump point, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Noisy, open & roomy park, not enough shade, too many permanents. Clean gas bbq (free). Good playground in good condition. Suitable for few days.
Dislikes: Electricity connections are very old, wobbly poles and didn't work when we plugged in. As we wiggled the cord it went on & off i.e. we felt it was 'dodgy'. I complained to reception who contacted help on the 2 Way who took about 10 - 15 minutes to turn up. Maintenance person said it was our lead (which works perfectly well anywhere else) and straightened out the pins and the power then stayed on. He said most of the poles in the park were in the same condition and when I pointed out that they charged enough to supply reliable power connections he took offence and basically said "If that's your attitude I won't explain" and took off.
Local Information: This is the only caravan park in town. Leseuer National Park is lovely and worth visiting - roads are caravan friendly. If travelling onto Cervantes and The Pinnacles be aware that the road into the Display Centre is bitumen however you have to walk into the Pinnacles themselves as the 4k loop is car only.

Likes: Great location adjacent to the beach and jetty. Walk to all shops within a few hundred meters
Dislikes: Lighting was poor and it would be easy to trip on a night visit to the amenities. Despite the amount of sand around no mops provided in the amenities block.
Local Information: A good kiosk and cafe at reception and the beach is only 50m. 30 odd kilometres to the Pinnacles which are well worth a visit.

Visited during Easter school holidays. Park very noisy - large number of groups didn't observe the 'quiet after 10PM' rule - with loud yelling, stereo noise. Had to call park management to intervene. Amenities dirty - not cleaned often enough, lacking basic things like toilet paper, hand soap. No parent supervision required for young children so mess made often by young children. Males using female toilets at times. Amenities need maintenance - lacking hooks in showers, some lights not working. Discussed with park office staff but amenities still only cleaned once a day - entirely inadequate given mess. Decent park but would avoid in peak times. Rude and "couldn't care less" attitude of staff, poor staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money ($287 2A 2C per week, powered, peak season). Inadequate number of amenities, are close to most sites, were dirty, condition is untidy, water pressure is good, hot water was usually adequate but not when busy. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Noisy, open & roomy park, not enough shade, too many permanents. Clean UC bbq (free), dismal bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Basic playground in average condition. No pool.
Likes: Well placed to beach and close to new jetty. Walking distance to shops and well priced cafe at front of park (separate owners).
Dislikes: Noise particularly after 10PM, dirty and poorly stocked amenities. Rude management who basically told me to leave as they 'were too busy' to deal with complaints.

Pleasant caravan park within walking distance to shops and water. Caravan sites are of various sizes with some drive through sites but you cannot stay hitched as sites are too short and some others which are long but narrow and may feel a little squeezy to some. Average staff friendliness, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money ($28 2A per night, powered, off-peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, very few concrete annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, camp kitchen, disabled facilities, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Quiet, open & roomy park, not enough shade, a few permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Park was reasonably central to facilities like shops etc. People were friendly, and on Saturday afternoon they had a Country and Western singers. Two old blokes who weren't too bad. All they asked was a gold coin donation.
Dislikes: Playground was only a bouncy trampoline mat which was in excellent condition. The only fault was that they turned it on at 06:00 am in the morning and the kids exuberance could be heard through the park. If you were around the front half of the park and you don't want to sleep after 06:30, you will think this is great.
Parking: Parking while booking in was good to one side of the road but some people parked in the middle of the road so others couldn't get in. Not the parks fault.
Local Information: A must see is the pinnacles, about 50kms away. We went on a free day due to road works and delays but usually costs around ten dollars each.
Roads: Road conditions were good.

Reasonable park, close enough to Perth to be a family holiday destination. Park is right on the beach, and has a cafe attached. There are a lot of permanents, which form the core of the park, the tourist sites are mainly around the fence line. Tent sites look well grassed, some powered sites are gravel with a green cloth annex area, others are just gravel, but a lot of these latter are drive through. Two amenities blocks, showers were good with lowered wet area and shower curtain, dry area had bench and several hooks, although was a little small. Older amenities block was slightly tired with some peeling paint, but otherwise was in good condition. Massive jumping pillow looked extremely popular with kids. $23.40 per night with Top Tourist discount. Easy to find as the main highway runs past the park and is signposted. The park seems to be mainly permanent sites with a few tourist sites at the back of the park beside the road. The toilet block looked old and badly needed some refurbishment - tiles were missing from the showers. The roads are narrow and there was congestion when a few caravans were leaving at the same time. It is in a good location between the main road and the beach and a few mins walk to the shops. A new shopping centre with IGA supermarket is next to the park.

This is an excellent park. Good for children as they have the largest inflatable pillow in the state. I even had a go, great fun! Lots of new cabins and the management was very good. A few dogs around including ours but no problems, all on a leash. We were there at a quiet time until the weekend when a lot of families turned up with their children. This was not a problem as they were nearly all at the other end of the park in cabins, tents or campers. We found the amenities excellent and very clean but wish they would clean them at any other time other than 9am! Access to shops and the beach was just a few mins and the fishing was quiet good from the jetty. We stayed a week but could have stayed much longer. The sites were mostly drive through and most were on a very hard compacted road base material. I had to drill before hammering in pegs for the awning. The flooding problems have been addressed with drainage ditches at the entrance. Well worth a stay at this excellent park. Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, very good value for money ($26 2A per night, powered, shoulder season). It sounded like a good idea at the time when the manager said that there were "No rules - just use your common sense". Meaning the dogs didn't have to be on a leash. You then again realise why they need to be on a leash as the owners were letting them wander around doing wees and poos without their noticing and then not being picked up. There didn't seem to be any noise cut-off time and the park was out of control. We had a man and his 2 sons in a tent beside us and he had heavy metal music going until 11 pm. Thankfully he left the next day. Nobody seemed too concerned. Again the beach was full of seaweed and no swimming.

Manager's name is Val. Even though we informed the park that we would be bringing dogs, they were very unwelcoming of them and they had to stay on leads at all times (even when totally under our control, just hanging around near us). The manager even said that one of my dogs "bailed her up" (he is a small fluffy Pomeranian X). The staff continuously shot us evil looks. We felt so unwelcome that we left a day early and didn't bother to try to get a refund. My shower the first day was perfect, but the second day when they were running the washing machines next door, the water went from suddenly scalding hot to freezing cold. Very unfriendly staff. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($25 2A per night powered). Amenities are close to all sites, cleanliness was average, condition is good, water pressure is good, hot water was usually adequate but not when busy, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Likes: Campers kitchen was good. It was more the company and good conversation than anything particularly good about the park that I enjoyed.
Dislikes: The manager and staff (her daughters perhaps) were very unwelcoming and stared at us and gave us filthy looks. I don't think a park should pretend to be dog-friendly and then make you feel guilty for having them there.

Managed by Moora Shire Council. Great little park. 2 free washing machines, 2 free dryers. $26 per night 2A. It was school holidays but price appears to be same all year round. Get in by mid afternoon as it fills up quickly. Sign in laundry says No Dogs but a couple of vans had dogs on lead. Pick a bay, fill in envelope and place your money inside and slip through the slot in door next to laundry. Caretakers phone number is on wall outside laundry, he will give you codes for amenities. No complaints here and everyone around was very happy with cost, free laundry, cleanliness of park and arrangement to obtain codes. Take the time to stop here and you won't be disappointed.

Good value for money ($25 2A per night, powered, off-peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, basic camp kitchen, dump point, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, no permanents. Clean UC electric bbq (free), bbq area lighting. No playground, no pool. Suitable for few days, well maintained park.
Likes: This is a council operated park which is unattended. Payment is made to garage across the road. It is circular with sites all bitumen but plenty of grassed area and quite spacious. Washing machines and dryers are free and shops are less than 100m away. It has a good spacious under cover area with BBQS but lacks seating. Overall we thought the park was quite well maintained and good value. We would be happy to stay here again.
Dislikes: The amenities block is clean but is probably due for some paint and perhaps re tiling or re grouting in the showers.
Local Information: 57 kms from New Norcia and much better than the facilities available there. We did that as a day trip.

This is quite a nice tidy park shaped in a circle with bitumen driveways coming off it. It's close to shops and the town has its pretty areas. Unfortunately there has been a price hike within the last month from $22 to $31 (over 40%) and there are better value ($18) council-run caravan parks. Feel free to voice your concerns to the council. I did - but it got me nowhere. Average staff friendliness. Reasonable value for money ($31 2A per night, powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, some unlevel sites, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, concrete annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra). Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, no permanents. Clean UC electric bbq (free), seating provided at bbq. No playground, no pool. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Free washing machine and dryer
Dislikes: Severe rate hike. No onsite management

This was a nice park, with free washing machines and dryers and BBQ's. The sites were big except it is hard to stay hooked up on them, as they are wide but not long. There is only 1 drive thru site, which I was able to pre-book in advance, but it just fitted my van and car in which is about 16 - 17 feet so any bigger would have problems. To check in you need to go to the petrol station, even though it has signs saying pick a site then put money in an envelope in the laundry, and gives phone numbers for the code for the amenities. After choosing my site, I go to pay and ring, but you then need to go to the petrol station to pay, but the gate from the park to the station is locked with a code, which they won't give you so you need to walk the long way round. This was never mentioned when I made my booking and is quite inconvenient, there should be signs up before you pick your site and set up. There is no caretaker on site, but the amenities were well kept, and BBQ looked after even though outside kids came in during the day and melted chocolate on the BBQ and put wrappers down the middle of it. It is close to town that you can walk around and see majority of the attractions. $22 1A per night, powered, off-peak season. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate small to medium vans, no sites with concrete annex slabs, shade to most sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by. Basic laundry, good camp kitchen. Clean UC electric bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No pool. Suitable for few days, well maintained park.

Owned by the council this is an attractive little park, easy to find (follow the signs), about 100 m from the town centre. The layout is basically a circle with sites each side of the roadway, around an area of lawn and the amenity block, which includes female, men and disabled toilet and laundry. The park is unmanned. You find a site then ring the caretaker for the amenities code. Then you complete your details on an envelope, insert your fee and place it in a slot in the office door. All sites are bitumen, wide enough for van and annexe but fairly short. To get our 25ft Heritage on site we had to reverse until our wheels touched the back kerbing. There is not room to stay hitched excepting for a small stretch of roadway next to the tent sites. Sites are $21 per night, dogs are allowed (on a leash) and fees include free use of new washing machines, driers and BBQs. There are no other facilities but the park appears to be being renovated; there are new brick pathways and a building is being constructed near the current amenities. A pleasant place to stay, overnight or longer.

132 km NE of Perth. Campground run by Benedictine Monks. In centre of town. Managed by Tourist Information Centre. Dogs allowed.

Although I have given the accommodation a very low rating New Norcia is well worth the visit and you do need to stay a night to support them as the monks own and run everything even the service station. We went to the beautiful big hotel for a beautiful dinner. The guides who show you around New Norcia are very well versed in the town of course and very well worth the tour and viewing the huge museum. You don't have to go to Europe to see 'old world' buildings, it's right here in WA. Put it on your must see list. They really need your support for the upkeep of the beautiful buildings.

Managed by New Norcia administration. Self contained vehicles overnight camping on level ground next to sporting oval. No facilities available but toilets across the road behind the buildings. There is a rubbish bin. This area can be very boggy after rain. $7 per night per vehicle payable at museum. Can be noisy at night with trucks passing by. Lovely scenery though, especially in winter when it is all green. The town is planning a new short stay caravan park on the golf course behind the road house with level sites and some power, and amenities. When this opens there will be no camping allowed on the old site next to the oval. This all depends upon the funding so it could be some time before it happens. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice. Reasonable value for money ($7 2A per night). Mostly level sites, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers.
Parking: Find a place to set up and walk across the road to the museum to pay.
Local Information: The town tour is well worth doing. It is still an operating Benedictine Monastery and the buildings are beautiful. The meals at the hotel are very good.

Really not a caravan park, just an area behind the roadhouse. Pets allowed.

Not really a park but a rough area behind the service station. At only $7 a night don't expect too much. Access to power but any site close to the power pole is very uneven - we decided to go without and park on level ground. Access by key to the showers - also access to public toilets in the middle of the space. However the town is worth a day or so and I would highly recommend the tour of the facilities. We had dinner at the hotel and it was good home cooked fare. You will be asked for a $10 deposit for the dunny key, but don't plan on an early get away as the servo doesn't open until 9am.

Likes: Proximity to Perth (less than 1 hr). Sand dune meets camping area at one end, is great for children to play on and run up and down. Some nice trees to camp under. Able to use resort's facilities (eg. pool). Management seem to keep a lid on noise, no problems at all. Walking distance to the beach.
Dislikes: Amenity block quite run down, and the one in the middle of the camp area has been closed down since my last visit in November (it was gross, so no huge loss, but if it was clean would have been convenient). Unfortunately there is also now a huge construction site (probably a land development) right next door to the park, so the easterly wind howls through in the mornings and brings sand and dirt with it. And it's wrecked the ambience of the nicer end of the park, as you now overlook bare sand.
