Drop toilet, fireplaces, tables and seats. Only one toilet at the
end of the campground. No designated camping spots, just setup at a picnic table or wherever. The Cobungra River
runs alongside - clean and a delight, with trout jumping in the early evening. Shallow water, safe for kids with
supervision, while we were there. Pub with cold beer and good meals, but no ice. Nearest town is Omeo, about
3/4 hour drive away. Nice and relaxing. Ok for caravans. We spent 3 great days building a "dam" in nearby rapids
with the kids.
Local Information: We used it as a base to leave the van and explore the area. A nice drive is to Falls Creek
(road closed in winter), 45 kms away (39 kms on good dirt road and very steep at the start, so I could not recommend a caravan).

This is a delightful camping area beside the Big River (upper reaches of the Mitta). It's a large area with a single drop toilet, well maintained by
the local rangers out of Omeo, has many fireplaces & tables & chairs. The Mitta River is a premier trout fishing river which is right beside the camp
sites. There are other camp sites along this road in both directions & all are top places to stop, i.e. The Walnuts Lightning Creek, Jokers Flat, The
CRB camp. Be prepared to spend a few days on this 145 km stretch of road, it's worth every minute. The added bonus is that these sites are all free.
Very good value for money
Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good.
Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade.
Clean wood bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, seating provided at bbq.
Suitable for few days.

This park and its owners deserve credit for a well run peaceful park at a good price. We loved it and even in school holidays it was great.

A good well set out park where the owners work very hard to maintain facilities. Camp kitchen, toilets etc are on excellent condition and cleaned daily despite very few visitors
when we were there. Last week of school holidays saw us charged $34 a night which we thought a bit steep. Sites are mainly dirt which in wet conditions makes them a bit muddy,
very few (if any) have concrete slabs of any use but when not full the majority are drive through which is handy. Could be a bit crowded in high season as drive through sites
are usually two sites together and if full could not be drive through. Some sites need 20m power and water cable to reach source. Plenty of shade on most sites without threat of
large gum trees dropping branches on you. Roger and Sue cannot do enough to help and even helped work on a van with some water problems when we were there. Came up and introduced
himself so great service there. Only reason it's not rated higher is sites are not always in good condition (but with the rain Beechworth had had recently that may be impossible),
lack of a few facilities like swimming pool, and a bit too expensive. However well worth a visit to beautiful Beechworth and Roger and Sue will happily help you out with anything.
Likes: Good setting next to lake, helpful (in the extreme!) staff, Close to town centre. Quiet setting.
Dislikes: Some sites a bit rough and muddy, bit too expensive
Parking: Plenty of room for 2 rigs when booking in.
Added Touches: Wood and fire drum available (for a charge)
Local Information: Beechworth - one of the best tourist towns in Vic. Do not miss going to the Beechworth Bakery - lives up to its name of Australia's Greatest Bakery.

Likes: Big sites, shady, not far from shops, 2 supermarkets, and a great bakery and ice cream shop. Has some nice walking tracks,
including a nice track around the lake. Lake has a nice picnic area, with a sandy beach, making a great swimming spot. Lake is also good for boating, canoeing, and fishing.

We stayed for only one night in the middle of winter and it was very cold as you would expect. The amenities are very basic and quite a long walk uphill on
rocky ground if you are camped at the lower campground. This part of the park is close to the road to Stanley and there is traffic on this road which does affect the serenity.
Friendly staff.
Reasonable value for money ($27 2A per night, powered). We paid $24 because of Family Parks discount.

This is a very beautifully kept little park with lovely grassed sites. Ideal stop for an overnighter or even a couple of days to enable you to
explore the surrounding areas. The permanents where not situated within the main park area, as with a lot of country parks they are incorporating
retirement villas within the park area but they are totally separate from the main park and well maintained.

Likes: Beautiful grass sites and the whole park was kept extremely clean. The camp kitchen which incorporates the two bbqs has to be one of
the best we have seen, well kept with plenty of tables and chairs and a 52" television.
Dislikes: The amenities need to be updated. One of the male toilets ran out of toilet paper which is not acceptable in a tourist park.
We were not given any tourist information and only basic park information.
Parking: Outside reception
Added Touches: Monday to Friday they have free pancakes in the camp kitchen.

This is a lovely park set out in lovely surrounds. Nice big drive thru sites, easy to get into, with TV cables also. Lovely big camp
kitchen, but when I was there, was a rally/race or something on at the raceway, so the camp kitchen was full of people participating in that
and quite noisy too, but the noise settled down later at night. The kitchen and amenities were in the middle of the park, so easily accessible
from most sites. The park is a fair way out of town, I thought I had missed it, but there it was. Very busy when I was there, many check-ins but still quite quick.

This used to be a very old run down park. New owner has spent a lot of money on repainting and replanting all the grassed areas and some new trees.
However even in time to come there will be a shortage of shade for many sites. The pool is lovely and well maintained and the camp kitchen
is the biggest and best I have ever seen, it would seat about 60. The rec rooms are great. There is a large number of new cabins and a few
refurbished older ones but still ample room for caravans. It is an extremely neat park. My big disappointment was that there were cracked and
missing tiles in the toilets and some old doors starting to rot at the bottom plus the tiles on the shower bases were well past their use by date.
In addition a large number of the sites with concrete wheel tracks or slabs were broken and uneven. It really spoils a good makeover.

This park is essentially a mix of cabins and van sites with approx 35 of these being available for both vans / tents / etc but they vary significantly in size,
generally not being suitable for large vans or motorhomes. One site is generally reserved for 5th wheelers/buses and that is all they have for such large units.
No drive through sites. Each site is separated from the next by hedging and trees, but this significantly reduces the width of some of the sites. We could not
negotiate our large van into the allocated site due to the narrow road even though we had emphasised the size of our van. Some check-in staff just have no idea
of van size and space requirements. Our final site was so narrow we could not get our awning out and the van was touching the hedging on both sides.

We were there on a very busy Melbourne Cup weekend, and it would be difficult to squeeze any more people into the park. However the facilities seemed
adequate & were kept reasonably clean. It is a beautiful area with the creek running though the middle of the park - on the hot weekend this was a major
area of entertainment for many families. There was plenty of shade (fortunately not from eucalypts, which tend to drop branches) with grass covered sites,
sullage, power & water close to the site & a dump point was available. Unfortunately the water pressure was a bit low, but that was probably due to the heat &
the number of people using it. Site size was reasonable, though we got the last of the larger sites and I am not sure that a larger van or motorhome would fit
on many of the sites. Cost was $42 a night for 2 people on a powered site (peak period). The park is central to the town with shops a short walk - and the
town of Bright is central to a marvellously interesting area. There are many permanents (annuals) but there were still plenty of tourist sites - all full
this weekend! Overall it is a park where you could stay for a week or so - if you could afford it.

The location of this park is stunning, right on the banks of Ovens Creek. They obviously charge for this location as this park is very expensive considering the lack of facilities.
The amenities are dated but clean, a slight smell from the drains was present during our stay. A very ordinary local radio station was playing in the amenities block 24/7 -
we've certainly had our fill of Dean Martin tunes for a while. Sites that are located along the riverbank are accessed by a road that is a dead end, if you drive up and decide
the site isn't suitable you'll need to back all the way out (with the river bank on your right). There are high voltage powerlines directly overhead - you don't notice them during
the day but can hear them crackling at night. There is no dump point and a sign directs you to empty your cassettes in the male toilet (lucky them).
Friendly staff.
Poor value for money ($60 2A 2C per night, powered, shoulder season). We paid $54 because of Family Parks membership.
Amenities are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided.

Peaceful, too much shade, no permanents.

Likes: Location is beautiful, the bank of the creek is a lovely place to sit and relax with a drink or two.
Dislikes: The excessive cost - we wouldn't stay there again and in fact we were planning to stay two nights, but changed our minds. The dated amenities could do with some renovation.

Good riverfront park which is an easy walk to town, however that should not be the reason to charge the price this park does.
The sites are far from level and most vans will need to chock up one side of your van to get it level. Dirt site, no cement slabs,
waste water from your van has no waste point to put your hose to, and when some van owners decide to use their ensuites for their
shower soapy water flows over the dirt roadway. Amenity block was clean and it is a nice clean park. It is however not good value for
money and I would look to a different park to stay at near this beautiful town next time.

We will price other parks in area before returning.
Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities.
Price was much higher than expected, poor value for money ($33.00 2A per night powered).
Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good,
there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation.
Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, poor night lighting, average sized sites, drive-through sites, poor water quality.
Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere.
Basic playground in good condition. No pool.
Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: Riverfront location and being able to walk into town.
Dislikes: Very excessive price per night considering time of year was low season and no one about.
Parking: Park at reception. Were able to pick our own site as it was very quite.
Local Information: Many sights in the area.

David & Simon have taken over about five months ago; what a breath of fresh air. If your thinking of staying in Bright you can't go past this park. Most sites will

The analogue TV signal is off and we were unable to get a digital
signal. Our aerial is horizontal polarity; there may be a vertical signal, we couldn't check. Female facilities being refurbished at the moment, male is a prefab. A lot of annual sites
restrict the tourist sites available. No permanents seen while there.
Friendly staff.

Peaceful, open & roomy park, too much shade, no permanents.
UC bbq.
Good playground in average condition.
Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, park is considered kid-safe.
Dislikes: No commercial facilities in walking distance. Vehicle needed for everything except fishing in the river.
Local Information: Lots to do in the Ovens Valley and is close enough to do day visits to some historical places. Be warned the recently opened Beechworth Goal is (IMO) overpriced, $50 for
a couple to be shown around a small part of an old jail which is less that 1 hour entertainment.

At the time we visited there was a new men's amenity block (large prefab unit with 6T & 6S) and the original mens/womens amenities block was
being renovated into an all women's amenities. Many annual sites but there didn't appear to be any permanents. TV reception was poor with only a
couple of analogue stations coming through with some noise.

Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: Nice setting beside the Ovens River and good sites for 5th Wheelers on the oval to the left of reception and good access to
these sites (good height clearance under trees). Was quieter than parks closer to Bright and seems roomer.
Dislikes: Nothing really stands out but if some of the trees were pruned higher above the roads leading to the powered sites to the
right of reception (middle & southern sections of the park) there would be more choices for higher vehicles without worrying about damage from rubbing past branches.
Parking: Across from reception inside park entrance still allows other vehicles to pass.
Added Touches: Open fires allowed in approved areas
Local Information: Bright is a pretty town on the Ovens River, many local lookouts, walking and bicycle tracks, The views and walks
on Mt Buffalo are a must. Can also recommend going for a Microlight flight
over the mountains from Porepunkah airfield.
Roads: Excellent road from Wangaratta (mostly flat) and good from Wodonga (over some hilly sections).

This is a well managed pleasant small caravan park with a quiet atmosphere. Management is friendly and helpful. We paid $25 a night. It is beside an
attractive small lake and parklands, near the town swimming centre and a short walk from the shops. Sites are grassed and a good size. Amenities are very
well maintained and very clean. The BBQ area/camp kitchen is good. It makes an excellent stop for overnight and is a very convenient jump off to Melbourne or
Western Victoria. It is also suitable for a few days as a base for exploring the interesting history and wineries of the area. The Telegraph Hotel in town cooks a
good meal. We would return.

Excellent, clean facilities are on offer at this park. We chose to pay the extra for an ensuite site. Possibly the best sites we have come across in
many years. Heaps of space, level gravel caravan sites with concrete annexe pad and a lawn area infront and to the sides of your site. At $30.00 per
night for an ensuite, we thought it was great value. $25.00 for level grassed drive though sites. This park was opened in 2000 and has been very well
planned. The trees have now grown and there is ample shade, an excellent pool and BBQ area are available, tennis court and golf practice net are a nice
touch. The park is about 1 to 2 km from town. The manager offered assistance with parking the van if required. To sum up, we would
highly recommend this park. Great value for money, clean modern facilities and secure entry.

This is a very good park with large well maintained sites and clean, modern amenities. It is reasonable value at $30 2A per night. It is about 3km from the nearest shops
and there is no kiosk to speak of - papers and ice creams are available. The caravan sites are at the back of the park - a fair way from the office. The dump point is
really only suitable for cassettes unless you have a very long hose. These are my only gripes - if you want a fully contained park that has every amenity for a family

This park has changed hands with new owners coming in December and reading previous reports, some things have changed for the better. This is a lovely park
right on an extensive creek frontage with wide open grass areas. The new owners will try and accommodate your wishes and are very responsive to any complaints
and act immediately. Unfortunately the recent floods resulted in some damage to the creek frontage area and much effort is being made to rectify the damage
to the creek side camping areas. And please do not think that it is just some small creek with a bit of water. At the moment, there is quite a flow and the
fishing should be pretty good once the water clears of debris. Water pressure was down and may have been as a result of problems on the morning that we left
when the water had to be turned off for repair work on the pumping system. Water has to be boiled before drinking but we relied on our good filtration system
and this worked okay. Talk to the manager about toilet cassette waste disposal. Cost was higher than we have paid but this may be a result of seasonal adjustment.

On our first visit for six years a new manager greeted us. He was courteous (more curt than courteous) and was either unhelpful or had little knowledge of (or interest in) local areas and events -
basically needs a couple of weeks at PR school. The park is a basic country town park with unlevel grassed sites serviced with power and water but no sullage. Sites north of the creek, which
divides the park, are drive through and will take big rigs but they are a fair walk from the amenities block. There has been an upgrade of facilities since the flooding of a couple of years ago.
There is now a good camp kitchen and BBQ area attached to the amenities block which contains the toilets/showers and laundry. Unfortunately the barbeques were not clean and there were no cleaning
utensils available for users to clean them. The camp kitchen had a good layer of dust on the sinks and the showers had a degree of slime on the walls and floor that was unacceptable. My other gripe
was the increase in numbers of permanents since our last visit - the previous manager had been trying to get rid of them. There is no dump point. Also no playground or pool. This park would be a
good overnighter as it is reasonably priced at $25 2A PN.

We were camping over Easter in a large group. and were given a huge open grassy and lightly treed area with 8 powered sites - perfect for a large group.
We camped all around the edges giving us an excellent communal area where we were able to set up our camp fires. These had to be set off the ground so we brought
our own metal tubs. Plenty of dead wood to be collected nearby. Our sites were on the other side of the river to the amenities block, across a foot bridge -
a bit far for oldies and small children. A small toilet block on our side of the river (just toilet and basin) would be great. The surrounding area was beautiful
rolling treed grassy parkland - lovely for the kids to play and ride their bikes about. The lovely wide attractive main street was only 15 mins walk away -
plenty of interesting shops and bakeries, plus a large IGA general store. Bit quiet over Easter - not all shops open.
Friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff helped us at the site.
Reasonable value for money ($45 2A C3 per night, peak season).
Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was
adequate hot water, separate bathroom, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation.
Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, shade to
some sites, adequate taps close by.
Good laundry, no rec room, good camp kitchen, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4).
Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, a few permanents.
Clean UC bbq, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq.
No playground, no pool.
Suitable for few days.

Park manager can be hard to locate to enable check-in. If the office is unattended, a mobile phone number is given. This little park is tucked behind the
Everton Pub but was quite the find we think. It has a limited number of tourist sites, all ensuited, however condition of ensuites is at best rustic but
for the price ($25 per night) and amount of time that you spend in them - okay by us. Really well maintained gardens, pool and bbq areas, lots of bird life
and peaceful. Lots of permanent vans, however not many actual permanent residents. Fantastic location for day trips around this beautiful/historical region
and also it is near the 'rail trail' bike riding track. To name a few places worth a visit Beechworth, Milawa Gourmet trail, Mt Buffalo and Myrtleford/Bright
region. Pub offers good small country pub atmosphere and was very popular for meals. If you can track down the manager to check-in, and are flexible enough
to cope with some outdated ensuite amenities, this place was a great spot for a week's stay in the country.

This is the closest park to the centre of town and having stayed here some years ago we were pleased to see that the park is being maintained to the same high standards
encountered during our last visit. This is a small, well kept and very welcoming park and we would highly recommend it. The park features: pool, BBQ area, games room,
a playground and clean amenities. We recommend a visit to Mansfield as it's a great base from which you can explore Victoria's High Country, historic sights and many wineries.
Try the $15 porterhouse on Tuesday night at the Delatite Hotel in the main street, it's beaut, and make sure you're very hungry.

En suite, reasonable water pressure, kitchenette with 2 burner cooker, microwave, full size fridge, all plates, appliances, utensils etc. Facilities
include a rec room, unheated pool, BBQ (uncovered), small kiosk with ice, boom gate security entry. Lovely quiet, leafy park with a good mix of cabins,

This park is one of those that doesn't understand how to keep tourists and permanents separate. The old permanent vans were dotted anywhere around what
looks like a new park. What makes it worse is that there are no trees or gardens to lessen the impact of old vans lying around. I understand the need for

A shady, open plan park with a central more organised area around the amenities area. A few sites here have concrete slabs. Power and water is available but no
sullage points, and there is no dump point. There are large sites available, though with a motorhome you have to watch the overhanging trees - obliging managers
offered to trim them back. Amenities block was kept clean but a bit overworked with a full park. There was a small double ensuite type unit also available near the
outlying section of the park. There was a laundry and simple gas BBQ but no other facilities. The kiosk supplies bread, milk, ice & icecream - it is about ten minute
walk to the supermarket. Overall the park is fairly basic but a pleasant place to spend a week and not overpriced.

Likes: This is gem of a park. Rustic comes to mind, large English trees give really good shade. The shower block has been
completely renovated and is excellent. Some sites have concrete but the ones to go for are under the trees. Some permanents but
they are in a completely separate area. Some longer term temporary vans that park there for the summer each year but very quiet,
even on a long weekend. Stop here instead of Bright and drive up to Bright.
Dislikes: Some of the sites have bits of concrete that could make it difficult to put up an annex.
Parking: Park in the entrance road and walk over to the office to stop blocking the site entrance.

Likes: It was quiet and yet a very short walk to town for supermarket, dining and browsing. Next to tennis courts and town pool although not operational at time of visit. It also had a baby room.
Laundry had 3 washing machines and 2 clothes driers. Amenities had 4 showers and 3 toilets and they are doing up an existing amenities block which will improve things. They are also going to run more
powered sites by upgrading water, electricity and will include sullage which is not there at the moment. Apparently they are aiming to do this in the near future. Good atmosphere and even though there
are 7 permanents they are quiet and easy to get along with. There are also annuals but because we were not there in the season where they were in use it wasn't a problem. The managers are new and have
only been there 3 weeks so they don't as yet, have a great local tourist knowledge this isn't a problem as there is a tourist information centre nearby. They are friendly and helpful manager's and the
local council is certainly working hard to improve the facilities. I have been in van parks which are rated higher but found the atmosphere and convenience and general maintenance just as good. Beaut
big area with several vanities and mirrors in ladies room which is great. Overall very pleasant and would definitely stay there again and wouldn't limit the amount of time spent there at this time of year.
Can't say what it is like in peak season. Saw the cabins - couple of new ones and they are lovely and only $100 per night at this time of year and go up to $120 in peak. 2 bedrooms one with queen bed and
other with bunks. Great layout. Great park. Also good security with boom gate and key pad locks in amenities. Would recommend. They are council run and have experienced many improvements and are a work in
progress but still fine whilst work is going on.
Dislikes: Could be a problem if they have a deluge of rain without slabs it may bother some people.
Parking: Not really just pull up before boom gate and go directly into office. If they are not in attendance they leave a phone number on the door and they respond quickly.
Local Information: Not far from Victorian ski fields especially Bright about 35 kms away. Interesting tobacco kilns still in existence from previous industry. Mountainous with plenty of drives.
Short drives to Beechworth, Yackandandah and Wangaratta.
Roads: Pretty good we didn't venture far but seemed to be in good repair. We travelled the back way through Yackandandah through to Albury/Wodonga. We came in via Wangaratta which was a good road
and last year went across to Beechworth and through to Chiltern which was also good at that time. Very scenic and fine for caravans.

A small comfortable park. Has a nice pool on a hot day. The manager was friendly and helpful. He guided us to our site which was ok for the money.
We booked in for 1 night with the option to stay an extra night.
Unfortunately the night we stayed we got a lot of road noise coming from lots of trucks on the highway and didn't sleep very well so left after 1 night.

UC bbq, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting.
Excellent playground in good condition.
Dirty pool heated, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for.
Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families.
Likes: Very nice setting with river on one side & lake on the other.
Permanents are separated from the rest of the tourist area by a bridge so are completely separate. Very large resort style solar heated pool. The tourist area is huge
and open however is understood to be fully booked in peak holiday periods so it may not seem open at those times. The sites fees are charged in accordance to proximity or
view of the water. Great park if you have a boat or jet ski. Other than the ensuite sites, most sites appear quite roomy, particularly those that back onto the water.
Despite a few negatives, the park is pleasant and we have booked another stay.
Dislikes: Park looked quite untidy on arrival however this was probably due to grass growth due to unseasonal rain & park being full over the Christmas break.
Occupancy dropped to only a few vans during our stay & the park was being tidied before our departure. Pool was full of swimming bugs (perhaps seasonal) & quite a lot of
algae on walls. Whilst toilets bowls themselves were clean, the amenities appeared to be unkempt. Cafe is independently run & was closed for 2 consecutive days during our
stay so it was not possible to purchase any necessities within the park. The shops are not within walking distance. It is unfortunate because a few negatives detract from
what is otherwise a terrific park.
Parking: Park in a separate lane before boom gate when checking in.
Added Touches: Plenty of access to lake.
Local Information: Lake Nagambie & river are right on your doorstep. There are also a couple of wineries in the region as well as Seymour & Shepparton not far away.

The park is located a few km from town (on the other side of the lake) so walking into town is not an option, but it's only a short drive.
The park facilities are reasonably new and it's a very well equipped park, however they are not well maintained; dirty is the only way to put it.
Water pressure for showers was poor with large fluctuations in temperature every time someone turned on or off a tap. Given there were 5 showers
plus hand basins being used the water temperature changed frequently (went cold often). Site rates were reasonable, but given the dirty condition
of the amenities and water issues the value is not quite there. The setting is sensational with lake on one side and Goulburn River on the other.
The day before we stayed they had 2 inches of rain and there were many sites flooded as well as roads very muddy.

Likes: The park is in a fantastic location with some sensational waterfront sites. The sites are large and the pool area looks good with a very large recreational room.
Dislikes: Cleanliness of the facilities; many sites underwater after heavy rain (poor drainage) and all internal roads with the exception of
the main road is gravel which became muddy. If you camp make sure you don't get a site that can flood - you will get washed away otherwise.
Parking: check in lane; check out lane.

Jayco, and is still under development. When finished this should be one of Victoria's better caravan/holiday parks. Management/reception
were friendly and helpful from their nice modern office complex that also contains a small shop and cafe overlooking the river.
Prices for a powered site for 2 adults ranged from $25 to $40, depending how far from the water you want to be! The sites are large
but few are level and there are no concrete pads - who cares, when nice green grass abounds. The facilities are new, but it is a
pity cleanliness isn't more of a priority. This, and the poor water pressure, is the only gripe I would have about the park. It
seems the park is being squarely aimed at families, as the children's playground, jumping pillow, pool, tennis courts & games room
attest. Consequently you will need to book well ahead for holiday season. This is definitely a park worth a few days or more, with
many interesting places in the vicinity to explore if you get bored in the park.

The park has had a total renovation - so all the amenities, facilities, play ground, rec room, kiosk are all new. They are still
doing works on the place. We had a ensuite site - I believe there are at least 12 or more ensuite sites available. They also have
a licensed cafe - kiosk, internet cafe's, 2 huge plasma TV's in the rec room, pool tables. The place was just great, we enjoyed
ourselves as well as our children. Highly recommend to all.

Friendly staff, gave good park and local information. Probably not a holiday destination for a young family but a good base to explore the local area from.
Amenities block was very clean, while not being the most modern. There was plenty of shade and good grass coverage. Fees were reasonable. I didn't fish at the park,
but it did back onto a creek and the locals did fish in the creek and catch fish. Within easy walking distance of the main street.

This is a neat well cared for park with green lawns & well manicured rose gardens. Situated on the banks of "Broken Creek", it is an older park
managed by a very pleasant couple. The shower toilet amenities block is old but clean. My wife was impressed by the vase of roses in the female
amenities block! The camp kitchen area is newish and well fitted out. Parking is on the grassed sites which are reasonably level and large. Sullage
is available but it was suggested we ran ours on the grass - birds eat the scraps & it saves water. It worked well for us. Children facilities are not
provided but just over the road is a comprehensive playground & adjacent swimming pool. There is also a skateboard ramp behind the playground. Rates
were quite cheap.

This park is located in a beautiful area and would arguably be the best situated park in the entire
Bright/Porepunkah region given its position at the junction of the Ovens and Buckland Rivers. Extremely well
treed which provides great protection from both heat and the very occasional summer rain shower and only 8kms
from Bright this park has so much potential but is let down by extremely rude and non caring management. They
are rarely visible and when spoken to highly aloof and arrogant. Campers staying there are crying out for a change
of ownership and this destination will only benefit from this occurring. Having camped all over the world it is a
pity that a potentially great facility is so badly let down by people so obviously in the wrong job.
Very unfriendly staff.
Price was as expected, good value for money.
Inadequate number of amenities, are close to most sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is good,
there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided.
Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, very few concrete

Likes: the shade, the location, the fellow campers
Dislikes: Management is extremely poor and they are consistently uncontactable and horribly aloof when they are.
Clearly in the wrong industry and seem deliberately intent on maintaining a cold attitude to campers. Think Basil Fawlty in the bush.
Parking: Parking area near office
Added Touches: None at all by the park itself which is a shame as it could really add some value particularly in peak times.
Local Information: Wonderful area, great summer weather and as much or as little to do as you wish.

Owners Tim and Barbara Sullivan very helpful and very friendly. 4 nights, $30 per night with BIG4 discount for
ensuite site (only 2 in park). About 5 kms before Bright. Not very busy just before snow season, and just after
Bright Autumn Festival. Ensuite is very clean, good hot water and pressure. Both ensuite sites have slabs (recently done).
Both ensuite sites have large tree in between them, one site unable to be used because of overhanging branches. Couldn't find
water outlet so had to extend hose to another site, no sullage, was told just to put hose onto empty site, which we could do as
no one else around. Park lighting is extremely poor, except for ensuite site which has automatic lighting above doors. I
checked the amenities block and they are the best I have seen (would rate them 5). Well laid out, shower curtains in cubicles,
and absolutely spotless. This park has many permanent vans on-site which are used by owners mainly in summer.

A truly picturesque caravan park. We visited over the May Bright Autumn festival weekend and stayed the following week.
The autumn hues of the many trees in the park filtering the autumn sun's rays created an atmosphere that invited you to slow
down and relax. The management and staff were friendly and advised us on where to go and what to do, what restaurants and
attractions to visit and the like. Bright is a beautiful town and it is surrounded by tree covered mountains including the
picturesque Mount Buffalo National Park. The people of Bright and surrounding district were, without exception, warm and friendly.
Most weeknights at the Porepunkah pub, 10 mins walk along the banks of the Ovens River from the caravan park, cheap eats
were on offer. This meant that just about everybody from the district congregated there to dine and have a yarn. We were
treated as though we were locals and loved every minute of it. All-in-all a great holiday experience and one we will repeat again next year!

Possibly the friendliest welcome we have ever had to a caravan park. We had a great 4 night stay here and would recommend it highly.
If you enjoy cycling, as we do, it is a perfect spot with the Alpine rail trail 100 m from the park. You can ride from Wangaratta
to Bright if you wish. We found the park facilities to be first class with large sites, some with ensuite facilities. An excellent pool,
camp kitchen and playground also featured. The office/shop stocks basic food items, ice creams etc as well as many local wines. A ride to the local wineries
is well worth the effort. A short bike ride into Bright (6km) finds many cafes and eateries. Plenty to see and do all year round.

We were there out of peak season and we just about had the park to ourselves which was brilliant. It is a lovely park bordering the edge of
Buckland River and is 6kms away from Mt Buffalo National Park. The majority of sites are annuals or permanents but majority were not there during our stay.
Personally, wouldn't want to stay here in peak season when they are all there as it would be too busy, noisy and the amenities would struggle to cope. However out of season highly recommend it.

Likes: Its quietness, our site was very close to the river. Proximity to Bright, the NP and other quaint towns. Good bush tracks nearby for
mountain bike riding and walking. Fishing for trout in river. Kayaking on river if enough water. Free tennis court. Good book exchange.
Local Information: This part of the world is renowned for its autumn and spring colours and the trees were starting to change colours when we were there.
In its full autumn glory it would be quite spectacular. Mt Buffalo National Park is a must do and a walk to the summit of The Horn is well worth it to see
the views. Bright is a vibrant town with lots of cafes, restaurants and specialty shops. This area is popular with light aircraft, hang gliding,
parasailing enthusiasts, rock climbers, abseiling and snow skiers in winter. Fishing for trout at trout farm in Harrietville is worthwhile if no luck in the river.

Every now and then you come across a gem, this is one of them. A delightful little park right on the banks of a lovely treed lake with plenty of bird life.
The pricing structure is very unique, $26.00 for the first night and then $23.50 thereafter, whatever the length of your stay. The laundry has three brand new
front loader machines, price is $3.80 for cold water wash and $5.00 for hot water wash. The bbqs in the camp kitchen are free, the stand alone bbqs are 20 cents.

Manager's name is Sue and Gary Featherstone.
We are not OzParks members, but were charged $23.50 for the first night (Fri) and $20 each for Sat & Sun nights,
2A powered site - cannot complain about that. Park overlooks Lake King, which was very low (<5%) due to the drought -
still picturesque, though. Amenities were very clean, although the changing/drying area was not separated from the shower
so got wet. This is not a large park, and has cabins, permanent/private on-site caravan sites (very few being used) and
some tourist sites - it may pay to book ahead. Most sites are gently sloping, but of good size. Unfortunately, due to the
ongoing drought, the lawns are poor and most sites are basically on dust. There are 2 electric (pay) BBQ's in the grounds,
but these appear not to be used because there are 2 free gas BBQ's in the camp kitchen area, which is clean, well lit
and has sufficient seats and tables. The park grounds slope gently towards Lake King, and should not be a safety concern
for watchful parents. There is a good playground in the adjacent park, and local swimming pool next door, but this is
only open in warmer months. Also adjacent are tennis courts, bowling green and golf course. The main street of Rutherglen
is only a short walk away.
Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff offered tourist advice, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff

Large council owned park alongside Victoria Lake and the Goulburn River. Manager is a bit too fussy about the grassed areas.
We were given 'strict' instructions not to park on it under any circumstances and he even drew a diagram to show us how to park
on the slab. He also cut the grass around our van on 3 consecutive days, 2 of which were after 7.30pm. Commendable, but quite
annoying when we were trying to watch TV.

This park has a lot going for it except security and consistency of amenity blocks. It is very open to the public path around the lake and from 4pm to 7pm there was a
constant parade of locals. The path is only m away from the lake view powered sites with no boundary evident. I was staying in the unpowered area around the top of
the lake and a police car and a council car came in off the back public road and drove around the park. What is stopping anyone else, nothing. I also experienced two
joggers happily chatting away extending their jog through the park, at 1AM! I think my dog barking showed them their mistake. The amenities in the unpowered area where
dismal so I walked to the one of the ones in the powered area, they were filthy and covered in bugs, no bug proofing at all. I then tried another lot in the powered
area and they were spotless and completely bug free. Having said all that I did enjoy my stay and would definitely go back especially now that I know which toilet block
to use. The park is very close to town and very shady and the management were friendly. I only paid $12 for one person on an unpowered site and I love parks that offer
that possibility. There were very few permanents and all together near the back of the park (and also closest to the clean amenities). Optus mobile internet reception

We have stayed at this park on a number of occasions over the last few years. This year we stayed February, and May on our return
trip. From a green and fresh park overlooking a pleasant lake, this park has become a drought ravaged area overlooking a dried
out dirt bowl. This has been sad to see and brings with some inherent dangers such as dead tress and others with dead limbs
overhanging van sites.
Despite it problems the park is well run and management is welcoming. We will stay again.
Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($25 2A powered).

Rang the caravan park 3 times, got answering machine, must have been too busy telemarketing to talk to tourists. Left mobile
number but never returned my call. Called into the park anyway when we passed through Tallangatta, nobody in office, rang bell for
service but no response. Tried several times but in the end we did a U turn and moved to a BIG4. Our impression of Lakelands is that
it's seedy, rundown, untidy, and the owner/manager doesn't really give a toss. There are far better alternative caravan parks in this area.

This is a typical showgrounds site, heaps of space & shade to camp under, power around the grounds & water not too difficult to get.
Toilets are as you would expect, not very well maintained (we used the shower in the van). The caretaker runs 150 sheep on the site so
you share with sheep but don't expect too many other travellers. It's a reasonable stop off on hot days to use the power to cool the van but has
not much else of note except its proximity to Albury for restocking. For $15 you get reasonable value, quietness & a stepping off point for the alps.

With a little more effort this could be a lovely park. No work was done during our 3 day stay, we even had to ask them to empty the garbage
bins which were smelly. The amenities were cleaned at 9.00 am which we felt was a very inconvenient time; book out time was 10 am it would be
better to wait till then

Likes: Clean and nice grassed sites
Dislikes: The noise from the road and the trains was very high. One night it felt like the train was driving right through the caravan.
The entrance was not easy to get into and very large caravans and fifth wheelers would have a problem.

$30 2A PN peak period. The park is only a short walk from the centre of town and supermarkets. This is an open roomy park with a central amenities block and adjacent camp kitchen,
barbeque area and pool. Playground and a tennis court are nearby. Unfortunately the rubbish bins are also here and your site can be quite a distance away, so it can be a fair walk to put
your rubbish in a bin. Power, water and sullage are close to sites, some of which will take large caravan and motorhomes. A dump point is available. TV reception was poor at our site due to
the tree coverage, though mobile phone reception was excellent. The shade from the trees was great on the hot days we had. Management is pleasant enough but the park has the appearance of being
a bit 'rundown'. Being a council park the lack of maintenance of the grounds may not be all the fault of the managers - though the cleanliness of the facilities certainly is. On Badger's rating
system a 5 rating would be possible if cleanliness and general maintenance didn't worry you, but the overflowing rubbish bins and grubby shower /toilet areas did not impress me - nor did the badly
tendered dirt sites (supposedly grass), even if some did have good tree cover.

Potentially a very good park that is badly in need of some TLC to bring it up to a reasonable standard. Everything about the park is untidy,
starting at the main office. The grounds needed mowing, the amenities a good clean over and above the normal maintenance cleaning (the female
amenities were left uncleaned for two days during our stay). There didn't appear to be any staff apart from the managers and although they were
friendly and generally helpful the whole thing appeared to be too much for them to cope.

The caravan park has lots of trees and is very clean. The entrance parking is a little small but adequate. Some of the drive through sites have matting on ground. Drive through sites
would not have enough turning area for large 5th wheeler or large motorhome. Would need to be on sites near creek furthest from amenities (75 metres). Most sites have short walk to
amenities and front shop. Amenities have five shower and toilets each. No soap. TV reception was a bit of pot luck due to the many trees in the park.

Boathaven is a large park and contains a mix of private and tourist accommodation. At the time we were there, there were 23 unpowered sites,
22 powered sites and 6 ensuite powered sites, plus 23 self-contained villas and cabins. Many of the sites are a reasonable distance from
the amenities block - we were there over the Anzac long weekend and saw people head to the amenities and return immediately, so there
may be insufficient facilities at peak time. We had an ensuite site, which was a good set-up although the floor got a little wet from
the shower, under the curtain. Cost for ensuite site was approx $36 per night 2A (average over a week, including long weekend). Our
daughter and family stayed in a villa for $150 per night, 2A 3C - really nice unit. The camp kitchen had 5 electric pay BBQs, plus
hot-plates, microwave, oven etc. There were also a couple of free gas BBQs around the site. The ensuite powered sites had a concrete
slab for annexe, but most of the powered sites appear to be plain grass or dirt. We would come back, but to an ensuite site. This is
a well run park, but it may pay to book ahead and check what sites are available.
Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff helped us at the site.

Likes: It is a large park, very clean and tidy, amenity blocks were constantly cleaned, pool area was fantastic, bbq area
was excellent, with communal fridges, bbq, kitchen facilities to wash dishes, microwaves.
Dislikes: There is only one amenity block for the whole park, with a lot of people staying in tents it would have been good
to have another amenity block down were all the people staying in tents could have had easy access. We had a powered caravan site
next to the amenity block which was great but would have been disappointed to have to wander during the night to go to the
amenities block if staying in unpowered tent site. The kiosk was not equipped enough it had a few basic items. Boathaven
would excel if they had maybe a cafe or the like.
Parking: no.
Added Touches: We stayed over the Easter period there were movies on at approximately 8pm every night on the grassed area
near reception but maybe an Easter egg hunt for the little kids would have been great.
Local Information: This park is located on Lake Hume, which at high water peak time would have been fantastic but as there
is a drought there was water in the Lake but not a lot but if you were interested in water sports there is ample enough water still for fun.
Roads: Road conditions were excellent to get to park.

Manager's name is Tanya & Peter Robinson.
This is a very large park on the banks of the Murray River. We had a riverside site which was more expensive but worth the extra cost. Being a large
park it has numerous amenity blocks, we can only report on the one nearest us which was excellent. As this park is so huge it has many different areas, the
permanents are right at the back end of the park and well away from the tourist section. The management have just erected an excellent rec room/camp kitchen
and will also be building a new bbq area adjacent to this room. There is an all weather boat ramp, a putting green and onsite bowling green.
Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities.

Likes: Situated on the Murray it is very relaxing and peaceful.
Dislikes: No swimming pool. Not all people like swimming in the river, especially when it is fast flowing. It was very hot when we were here and a pool
would have been great. There is a municipal pool nearby but this was closed and empty during our stay.
Parking: Outside reception.
Local Information: Suggest a visit to the tourist bureau as there is so much to do in the area.
Roads: Good bitumen.
