Eureka Stockade Caravan Park, Ballarat
104 Stawell Road. Ph 03 5331 2281. Family Parks member. Caravan park is next to the Eureka Stockade Museum complex.
We were disappointed in this park. Reception staff were friendly but booking could not be found. Site was drive-thru but not enough room to remain connected. Restricted number of tourist sites. Majority of sites taken up by permanents. Amenity numbers OK but not cleaned during our first day despite a full house the previous night. Cleaning on second day cursory. Garbage bins overflowing. Management not sighted in park. Park noisy with swimming pool complex next door playing loud radio all day. Would look elsewhere to stay in Ballarat in future.

We had a drive through site with an ensuite so we can't comment on the main amenities block. The ensuite was large enough and clean. The caravan park is situated on a hill with the ensuites sites down the end of the park on flat ground. There were some other drive through sites half way down the hill, but they appeared to be slightly sloping. Park is starting to show its age, but was comfortable. There were a few permanent vans that needed a little tidy up around them, but otherwise did not bother us. Some of the sites were a long way from the amenities, so we were glad that we had an ensuite site (especially as winter decided to come early during our stay!) There was an average playground, but next door in the park was a huge playground that kept the kids occupied for hours. There was also a games room and camp kitchen. There was no pool, but the public pool was next door and you had free entry when it was opened (Nov-Mar only). Friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($36 2A 2C per night powered). Amenities are close to only some sites, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Inadequate number of tourist sites, some unlevel sites, average sized sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, late checkout allowed (up to noon), kiosk, secure entry. Peaceful, open & roomy park.

Windmill Holiday Park, Ballarat
On route C805 (Remembrance Drive, 3km from Arch of Victory Adelaide side of city). BIG4 member. Ph: 03 5334 1686 or 1800 256 633.
7km west of the Ballarat city centre on Remembrance Drive which extends west from the city's main street, Sturt Street. Although the suburbs are getting nearer, this park is still rural, even if only by 300 metres. Not a big park but has variety of cabins, ensuite van sites, powered sites (with and without slabs), drive-through sites, and camping sites. One ablutions, laundry and toilet block adequate for sites serviced. Recreational facilities are exceptional: heated pool and separate kids wading pool enclosed with retractable roof, tennis court, basketball net, two playgrounds (young ones and older), large TV/lounge/games room (with 4 games computers, table tennis and pool table) with wood heater for winter, well-equipped camp kitchen, spa and sauna. Free wireless internet. Good TV reception. 2 BBQs in camp kitchen and 1 beside main playground. Free pancake breakfast on Saturday mornings. Occasionally under flight path of light aircraft landing at nearby airfield, but noise not intrusive. Internal roads well maintained gravel. Management and staff very friendly and helpful. Lots to see and experience in Ballarat - Sovereign Hill, Eureka Stockade, Ballarat Art Gallery (free entry), many heritage buildings in centre of city dating back to the golden era of the 1850s. Prices as expected and reasonable at $30 2A before BIG4 discount powered.
Likes: Recreational facilities.
Dislikes: None significant.
Date 06/2009. Park Rating 4: Good average caravan sites and ablutions but additional facilities exceptional.

A superb location with a manager and manageress who are probably the friendliest people we have ever met. Nothing is too much trouble for them, even arriving after dark , Mark helped us park the van and wasn't too concerned about us paying him later. The park itself is not large but has a good number of shady, mature trees (not sure shade is a good thing in Ballarat in winter though), with a few having concrete slabs. A couple also have a superb new log cabin ensuites. The log cabins (we had a cabin and a powered site) were by far the best I have ever seen - immaculately fitted out, all good quality - it was like being in a 5 star hotel. The park also has an indoor heated pool (and yes it was heated whilst we were there in the middle of winter) a large number of kids play areas, jumping castles, BBQ's , picnic tables. The amenities are spotless, with separate showers and toilets, heaps of hot water, piped music, hand driers, soap. Maybe not the most modern, but cleanliness and maintenance makes up for that. Full Spa and Sauna, tennis court, Basketball court finish off what is a most well equipped site in excellent condition. Fully stocked shop with DVD's, videos etc. In short this is an example of how to set up and run a superb Park which comes highly recommended. Note I have deliberately made no mention of price as its not relevant with such a good park - suffice to say we have paid much much more for far far less. Disadvantages: about 7 kms from Ballarat so a bit far out to walk, and also not much else within walking distance. No pets were allowed, but I accept this may be an advantage to others.

Manager's name is Paul. If all parks were judged against this park they would only get a 3 rating. We have travelled this great country extensively and this park would have to be one of the best for value ($20 per night ensuite) and presentation. The ensuites were very modern and kept in excellent condition. The surrounding areas were all neat and tidy and well maintained and the BBQ 's were complimentary. The park has a swimming pool and kid's playground and was well maintained in nice lawn areas. People with kids who are looking for all the latest gadgets and entertainment should give it a miss. The park is constantly being upgraded and is a credit to Paul and his staff. Thank you Paul for a very enjoyable week.

Manager's name is The Stevenson Family. What a magic find. This is one of the best parks we have stayed at in our 12 months touring Australia. Every site has a spacious ensuite, there is heaps of space around each site as well as landscaping between sites and spacious grassed areas behind each site. We had no problems parking our 6.6m caravan. The owners are continually upgrading the facilities and the whole park is a credit to them. We loved the spaciousness and tranquillity of the park and would definitely stay there again and again. The park is about 10km south of the town centre but only 2 minutes from the major shopping precinct at Kangaroo Flats. Excellent value for money at only $20 per night for an ensuite site.

We have found while travelling around Oz that the best parks are generally owner/operated. This is one of them. The owners are very friendly and have obviously worked hard to achieve such a spotless park. The facilities are first class, the covered pool area is lovely and there is a children's playground and jumping pillow. The amenities are modern and clean, with a generous shower cubicle, with curtain. The roads are wide, sites have a concrete slab and ample room for parking. Not a lot of grass, but they are trying. A new rec room has just been completed, with lounges, tables and chairs and a coffee machine. There is a TV room, games room and camp kitchen. Bendigo is a nice town, with enough to do for a few days, or if some rest is needed from travelling, this would be the place. There is even a Myers in town.

Central City Caravan Park, Bendigo
362 High Street, Golden Square. 2.5 kms south of the fountain in the heart of Bendigo. Ph: 03 5443 6937. Dogs on leash.
New managers took this park over a couple of years ago and it is now quite a reasonable park. The really grotty area where the permanents are has been reduced in size by the introduction of a multitude of cabins. The small tourist park area has about 30 powered sites, serviced by a nicely renovated (clean) amenities block with heated floor. The sites are fairly level, reasonable in size & have some shade. Drive through sites are available. There is a readily accessible dump site for motorhomes as well as a cassette dump point. There is a laundry, TV room, basic camp kitchen & a BBQ area (coin in slot). There is also a small pool and children's playground. The office has a reasonably stocked kiosk. At $28 per night for a couple in the low season it could be considered a bit pricy for what it is, but may be worth it if you need to be close in to the town centre, as it is within walking distance (about 2 km).

The park is situated adjacent to the town oval next to the Glenelg River, just north of the main street. You turn into Clark Street off the Henty Highway to approach the park. Ph: 03 5581 2070. Dogs allowed.
This is a small community park with no resident caretaker. You get the key from the Tourist Office just over the river at the eastern end of the main street. If they are shut then just set yourself up and ask someone for the amenities security code and pay the $17.50 fee the next morning. This is a basic, well grassed park with a small but clean and adequate amenities block - 2 showers, 2 toilets, soap and hand dryers. It is next to the footy oval and there can be a little bit of noise if you're there on a training night. It is an open park with no fences or gate but this is not a problem. There are no trees except for some massive redgums along the creek. Casterton is the 'home of the kelpie'. It is an attractive town with a commitment to tourism. Ask for the informative pamphlet - Casterton - Kelpie Country at the Info centre. Worth a stay of a day or so to take in local attractions. The Casterton Hotel has great meals but there are several other eating places in the main street. It is also an ideal stopover when travelling some of the excellent 'back-roads' between SA and Vic. Good management. Good value for money. Good amenities, adequate number to cater for tourists, close to sites, were clean, were in good condition, water pressure was okay, there was adequate hot water. Good sites, adequate number of tourist sites, sites were level, drive-through sites were available. Laundry. Good atmosphere to park, open and roomy park.

This is a small park which needs a revamp. The cabin was very nice and clean with en-suite but had no hot water and we couldn't find the gents amenities so had to endure a cold shower. It was 35 degrees when we were there but pool still closed early. Also is adjacent to the main train line so could get very noisy. On arrival staff were rather indifferent, friendlier guy on the counter when we left. Average staff friendliness, average staff response to complaints Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($69 2A per night cabin). There was inadequate hot water. Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean UC bbq. No playground. Clean heated pool is open to the sun, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Likes: The cabin itself was fine for the price - outdoor furniture provided, nice and clean
Dislikes: No hot water in the cabin and could not find amenities block - although they did mention when we checked out that we should have let them know as it probably meant the gas had run out. Is it not their job to check these things?

Jubilee Lake Caravan Park, Daylesford
Daylesford-Ballan road, 1 km from Daylesford Town centre. Signposted Lake Jubilee. Ph: 03 5348 2186. Dogs on leash.
This park was in the process of changing over to a new lease holder and consequently showing some signs of lack of interest by existing management. The whole park exhibits lack of investment and control over a long period. Sites are small and uneven. Roads are unsealed and un-maintained. High number of permanents with that section of the park laid out like a "dog's breakfast". Standard of construction and additions give the park a "shantytown" look. The park location is excellent. Management disinterested. If plans are as set out in local newspaper article then park will be redeveloped over the next few years. Its a case of "watch this space", but in its present state we would look for somewhere else to stay. Price was as expected, poor value for money ($23 2A powered). Amenities are old but clean, number was adequate to cope with the number of people. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, poor night lighting, small sites. Quiet, too many permanents. Suitable for few days.

Roads: The roads are a little bumpy, so it can be a bit annoying when towing a caravan, but they are wide enough, so you don't have to leave the bitumen to pass or overtake. Report submitted by Lisy, Vic.

Manager's name is Doug & Ruth Brown. The park is a short walk from the main street, which has two hotels & a supermarket. Friendly staff that provided tourist information and assistance to the site, which was level with shade and a concrete slab. There is a lake in the centre of the park with several ducks. Happy hour on Friday nights when the owners light up the pizza oven for people to cook their own food and there is also a microwave oven in the covered bbq area. The park is very popular with gold prospectors. $16.00 per night or a weekly rate of $90.00. Good value.

On intersection of Stawell and Ararat-Halls Gap roads, approximately 3km on the Stawell side of Halls Gap. Ph: 03 5356 4244. Family Parks member. Pets at manager's discretion, on leash.
$10 deposit required on arrival for bond on powered site (no key needed for toilets!?) BBQ cost $2 for 5mins, $8 to cook sausages. Toilet paper ran out and when management asked to refill we were told they didn't start work for another hour and a half and wouldn't refill until then. If park wants to fill to the max they need to clean amenities a lot more often. Bins were overflowing and not emptied at BBQ for two days. Park in need of a lot of maintenance. Average staff friendliness, bad staff response to complaints. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($40 2A 2C per night, powered, peak season). Inadequate number of amenities, are close to only some sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is bad, there was inadequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, average sized sites, very few concrete annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by. Likes: Central to Halls Gap, Lots of Kangaroos. Campfires are allowed in fireplaces or BBQ area.
Dislikes: Poor park. Soap containers in bathroom empty and rubbish bins overflowing, not emptied for 2 days. Toilets not properly cleaned for four days, were only cleaned on the day we left when a bus group arrived. Boom gate not working, most shower heads were loose and leaked badly wetting clothes hanging on hooks. No camp kitchen as such only covered BBQ's and 6 table and benches in a bricked in shelter shed with an open fire. A group from the cabins occupied the area for 3 days/nights, no room for anyone else, they were extremely noisy and management didn't respond. Amenity block was in urgent need of upgrading, doors didn't lock tiles missing from floor in shower cubicle. Very poor TV reception.

Large park. Concrete slab for annex and concrete for caravan to sit on. Some grass, with some shade. Tarred roads throughout park. Amenities clean and in reasonable condition. Hand dryers and soap provided (although the soap dispensers were empty the whole time we were there). Very poor TV reception. This park was very good value for money as we only paid $22 per night for a powered site for 2A 2C. They had a special on at the time where kids stayed for free, friendly management. Good value for money. Amenities had adequate number to cater for tourists, close to sites, were clean, were in good condition, adequate number of tourist sites, lighting at night was adequate, the site size was okay, annex slabs were available, drive-through sites were available. Basic playground in average condition. No pool. Suitable for overnighter.
Likes: The location of the park is awesome. The Grampians are in the background and the Halls Gap township is a short drive away. The showers were large, the water pressure was fantastic and there was plenty of hot water. A new pool was being built and looked fantastic.
Dislikes: The park had drains across parts of the roads that were hazardous to small children on bikes/scooters. I lost count of the number of children I saw come off their bike going over one of the drains. The park has numerous ducks which leave droppings everywhere. After the amenities were cleaned the floors were left very wet and there were no warning signs to tell you the floors were wet. At check in we were told our site was at the end of a dead end street. No assistance was provided and we were told "I don't know how you'll get the van in - see how you go." and then there are trees planted in front of the concrete slab you have to negotiate around. The games room was very old and only some of the games worked. There was inadequate ventilation in the female showers.

Manager's name is Daniel & Samantha Magill, Richard & Glenda Naudi. We stayed in this park in 03/04 and thought it was one of the best parks we had ever stayed in, however this time we were extremely disappointed. Since 2004 the size of the park has been reduced dramatically and the facilities have also been reduced. Many of the roads are dead end and it is extremely difficult to put caravans on to the sites. The site sizes have also been reduced and everything is very cramped. No work has been done apart from emptying the garbage bins which are sorely in need of repair and cleaning. The recycle bin was full when we arrived and wasn't emptied until four days later. We were charged more than is shown in the current Big4 guide, we paid $31.50 less the members discount and when queried this we were told that they could charge what they liked. We would definitely not stay again. Average staff friendliness, bad staff response to complaints. Price was higher than expected, poor value for money ($31 2A per night powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, small sites, concrete annex slabs, drive-through sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, dump point, secure entry. Quiet, open and roomy, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere, no permanents. Clean electric bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. Clean pool is open to the sun, kid-safe pool area. Suitable for a few days, suitable for families, park is considered kid-safe.
Dislikes: Filthy and broken garbage bins and overflowing recycle bin. There are a lot of ducks that live in the park and leave a mess, you have to watch where you walk otherwise you come back with dirty shoes.

Manager Dennis. Very Helpful staff, quick booking time. Family friendly, but the sites up the top of the park near the office were quite slanted and blocks were required to level the van, and the roads had quite severe dirt gutters which we bottomed the van out while trying to reverse in to the site. Likes: A natures delight, Kangaroos jumped down the parks roads, and cockatoos galore, very tame could be fed by hand with bird seed.
Dislikes: The sites were on a slant which was making it difficult to level the caravans, dirt site and gust of wind would blow through the campsite and you would have a mouthful of dirt. The pool was clean but cloudy and quite small for quantity of people that used it while we were there.
Local Information: Fantastic place for sightseeing, lots of walks and plenty of wildlife.

Ph: 03 5382 3476. Dogs on leash.
This park took discount if caravan park club member or NRMA or similar member. This was a very popular park whilst I was there. Nice walks along the Wimmera River, even though not much water in there, the dogs had a great time running along the river and swimming. Had a lot of exercise. The price was for an ensuite site. Unfortunately it has been affected by the drought and there is minimum grass around but they are making up for some of it by putting woodchips down. Most sites not with ensuite are all around the amenities block. Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, good value for money ($26.10 A1 per night powered). Amenities were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, large sites, drive-through sites, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, kiosk, van parking. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: The ensuite site I had was very big and some were drive through. The river was near by to take dogs for a walk, the information centre was an easy walk also, and parks near by. The park was big and well laid out.
Dislikes: The laundry is a fair distance from ensuite, but as it is with the amenities, that is to be expected.
Parking: Bit hard to park and not block the entrance, so cars had to use the exit to get in whilst people checked in.
Local Information: Nice walk along River, Horsham Wool Factory, Mt Arapiles has a nice view. Wish I had time to go to Dimboola.
Roads: I went back roads from Swan Hill, the road was fine, not too narrow and had no problems. Stop at Minyip on the way if you are a fan of the show Flying Doctors which used to be on TV, still has shops around, unfortunately the town itself, a lot of the shops are closing down.

Healthy green grassy sites even now after a long hot summer and plenty of shade. Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, all level sites, good night lighting, large sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, kiosk, dump point. Kyneton Caravan Park, Kyneton
This park is a disgracefully maintained park with old, poorly maintained amenities. One toilet was blocked & no maintenance was carried out on it while we were there. The manager is at best off-hand. The kiosk is nonexistent for papers or sundry groceries, with the nearest shops being a good long walk. All a pity because the park is nice & spacious with good sites of fairly level grass and plenty of shade.

Very basic park offering basic amenities at reasonable value ($18/night 2A). Roads are unmade, dusty and a nightmare in the wet. Toilet block is old, but reasonably clean. BBQ is very basic. Large number of permanent vans in various states of disrepair. Main attraction is the adjoining lake so the park may appeal to boat owners. Not a lot to offer in the town either - 2 takeaways and a dubious pub.
Park Rating 1: Suitable for overnight only unless you want to rough it!

Lake Fyans Holiday Park, Lake Fyans

Tired park. It appears to have been a thriving holiday resort many years ago from the sheer size of the place. The entertainment now is to watch the camp shooter decimate the Corella population overhead - sickening but apparently legal. It sits on the shore of Lake Fyans, which is actually has a small amount of water in it. Everything has seen better days. Average management. Good value for money. Poor amenities. Average sites, adequate number of tourist sites, sites were level, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Laundry, rec room. Very poor atmosphere to park, quiet, shady park. Clean UC electric bbq. Basic playground, condition okay. Good clean pool, kid-safe pool area. Suitable for overnighter.
Likes: quiet - but then there was only 2 cabins & 2 sites occupied while we were there.
Dislikes: A cull of the birds (Corellas) didn't appeal, nor did the attitude of the management. Kitchen & games rooms were locked during the 4 days we were there - though a sign said they would be opened if required. Amenity blocks were also locked, though as we were given ensuites ($5/night extra) it didn't matter. No cleaning of the ensuites was done while we were there.
Added Touches: The reception area had a basic store and a "bistro" restaurant which apparently served basic reasonably priced meals on Saturday evenings & breakfasts (probably only during busy periods).
Local Information: Halls Gap is about 15 km away - try one of the parks there.

Manager's name is Jackie & Bruce, Bob and Milena. Very quiet. No road noise. Natural bush-like setting. Lots of birds, possums and trees. Right on the lake normally but with the drought the lake was further away. Would definitely stay again. Very friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, good value for money ($22 2A per night). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, late checkout allowed (up to noon), good camp kitchen, kiosk, secure entry. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. No pets allowed. Clean UC bbq, congenial bbq area atmosphere. Excellent playground in good condition. Clean heated pool is open to sun, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: Very quiet when we were there, obviously much busier in peak times. The pool itself is one of the nicest we saw in a caravan park. There are lots of large trees. You feel like you are camping in the bush. Staff are friendly. The amenity block we used has recently been renovated and is very nice.
Parking: No. Park in the bay provided.
Added Touches: Fireplace at each site if you want an open fire. They also have a bistro there where you can have a meal if you want to. Tennis court and games room.

The water pressure in the showers was appalling, only one shower had any pressure and that was not very good. Good sites, adequate number of tourist sites, sites were level, the site size was okay, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Laundry, rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point. Good atmosphere to park, quiet, open and roomy park. Clean UC gas bbq (free), lit at night, with seating provided. Basic playground condition okay. Very close to town centre and clearly signposted - easy to find. When arriving at the park late in the day we were greeted by two largish dogs munching on a variety of bones at the entrance. After paying we selected the best site we could find - no grass. While water, sullage and power were convenient to the site we were extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of the ablution blocks - they appeared not to have had a thorough clean for some considerable time. We did not use the camp kitchen or laundry. The park is very close to the centre of the town and campfires are allowed. However we felt the park's RACV 3.5 star rating was misleading and that the park represented poor value at $22 per night. Very good park atmosphere.

The men’s amenity block, although clean, is in desperate need of upgrading. There is a large number of permanents and management need to ensure that these areas are kept clean and free of rubbish. Maryborough Caravan Park is now for sale - and the managers seem to have lost interest: No maintenance appears to have been done in the last year, with blocked sullage outlets (ours & neighbours), faulty power outlets, garden beds uncared for with dying or dead plants, dirty barbeque facilities uncleaned in the 4 days we were there & the number of permanents appears to have multiplied - the only improvement is that the lake is full and wildlife abounds. The latter has nothing to do with the caravan park management, of course. In the near empty park we took the liberty of parking our vehicle under the shade of a tree in the adjoining site - only to be told by park management if we wished to do this we would have to pay for that site too! The park, with its lake outlook, could still be a great place to base yourself for a tour of this interesting region - but with its present management I would suggest Castlemaine is not far away.

Manager's name is Smith family. Formerly a Top Tourist Park, now private, this park is rather tired. Its appearance wasn't helped by the current drought and when the adjacent (man made) lake fills and the grass grows this will improve the ambience of the park enormously. The barbeque area, laundry, toilet/shower facilities & playground have all seen better days, though the toilet & shower facilities were as clean as any I have encountered. Sites were mostly level and most had sullage, power and water (very hard - didn't lather well). We had no manoeuvring problems with our 24ft van - the park wasn't busy & we were told to pick any site that suited. There were a large number of permanents, but the manager said the park only accepts these if over 50 yrs of age! Apparently this must be the age when one stops being a problem! There is no kiosk but the shopping centre is within easy walking distance. There is a lot to see around this area. Average management. Reasonable value for money. Good amenities, adequate number to cater for tourists, close to sites, were clean, water pressure was okay, there was adequate hot water. Good sites, adequate number of tourist sites, sites were level, the site size was okay, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Laundry. Park atmosphere was okay, quiet, shady park. UC gas bbq, with seating provided. Basic playground in poor condition. Suitable for a week or more.

Seems reasonably clean. Good as an over nighter, longer stays only if self-contained. Water on sites is not fit for drinking or food preparation as deemed by the local water board. Water in cabins is only cold water and as above is not fit for drinking or food preparation. Fresh/drinking water must be obtained via the blue piped taps. Ensuites are cold at night and suggest leaving the IXL light/heater/fan unit running or putting a small bathroom heater in there. Severe power problem so I don't suggest plugging any sensitive electrical stuff in i.e. computers or other such equipment. Driveway is good, sites are easy, level, large. Dump point available. Kids playground is very dated. There is a walk way to the town park through the fence, also a walk along the Nhill swamp on a platform boardwalk.
Dislikes: Truck stop at the front entrance especially if sheep truck pulls up.

Power and water to most sites, but no sullage points; however in dry conditions the grass welcomed waste water. Amenities spotless and well maintained, with good hot water, and should be adequate except if park was very full. No soap or dryers for hand basins. Showers had curtains but no mats or mops. The manager was very helpful and friendly and guided us to our site on his bicycle. The manager's name was Brian and he has been leasing the park from the council for about 5 months. There was plenty of shade but because of the dry conditions some of the oak trees were dropping their gum. Most of the sites were drive through, some with grass, but a lot were gravel because of the dry conditions. There were about 12 permanents but they were all together at the rear of the park. The amenities block was close to all of the sites and were clean with soap and hand driers provided. No key was required to access the amenities. There were three very clean undercover barbeques close to a camp kitchen which had refrigerators, toaster and a sink. Wedderburn is part of the "Golden Triangle" and is a popular gold fossicking area. The local hotel (about a one kilometre walk) serves excellent meals at a very reasonable price. Powered site fees were $17.00 per night.
