A pretty, tidy little park near the town centre, with clean amenities. Showers are very small, though. Park is currently up for sale but current proprietor is not shirking his duties. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money ($26 2A per night, powered). We paid $23.40 because of chain discount. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good camp kitchen, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Open & roomy park, plenty of shade, a few permanents. UC gas bbq (free). Basic playground in good condition. Clean pool, kid-safe pool area. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Large sites, close to town, clean

Parking: Can park on street.
Local Information: Alexandra Gardens (beautiful) close by, Ararat Regional Park good for dog walkies, Ararat Prison (J ward - institute for criminally insane, now a museum). Pioneer lookout has spectacular views of town and Grampians.

Average amenities, adequate number to cater for tourists, close to sites, water pressure was okay, there was adequate hot water, the showers would be one of the smallest I have been in (cold not swing a cat in it). Average sites, adequate number of tourist sites, sites were level, annexe slabs were available, hard to negotiate in to/out of site, adequate taps close by, some sites are small. Laundry, good camp kitchen. Park atmosphere was okay, shady park. Clean UC gas bbq. Good playground, condition okay. Average heated pool. Suitable for overnighter, the park was well maintained.
Likes: This park is good for 1 or 2 nights if you can get a good nights sleep.

Avoca Rd. The park is situated about 2 kms from the main street, heading out of town towards Avoca past the velodrome on the right. Ph: 03 5352 1309. Pets allowed, with a reserve behind park to let them off their lead.

Have not commented on amenities as our van is self contained so we rarely use park amenities. Average staff friendliness, average staff response to complaints Poor value for money ($30.00 2A per night, powered, off-peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate small to medium vans, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Dump point. Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, too many permanents. Suitable for overnighter.
Likes: close to town, some sites well away from main road
Dislikes: most of good sites taken by permanents, caretaker / manager not very interested in customers' needs. This is in contrast to previous stay in 2006 when manager was very helpful, nothing too much trouble.

Just about what you would expect from a 5 Star park. except it's too rich for this poor old pensioner's pocket. Park consists mainly of cabins and villas. Services to vans all over the place. Wet and muddy. They seem to cater more to the cabin trade. Average staff friendliness, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money ($35 1A per night, powered,off-peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, soap provided, dry change area. This is a large park with many facilities for families, including pool, jumping pillow & mini golf. The park is starting to show its age & the taps, power stands & sullage outlets look in need of replacement. The sites are generally small - probably take up to an 18 ft van - with sparse grass cover. Few have concrete slabs - mainly the ensuite sites. Unfortunately there are no nearby shops because although there is a kiosk it contains a contains a very limited range of items - and no daily paper. Although old, the shower/toilets are clean and well maintained, as are the camp kitchen/BBQ areas. The staff are friendly though were not able to assist in finding the site (not required) as were understaffed that day. Overall the park is expensive for what it provides (off peak $35 powered site for 2 people) and there are better caravan parks in Ballarat.

Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs to some sites, shade to most sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Clean pool is open to the sun, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, well maintained park.

A lovely park quite central to Ballarat attractions. This is a very family orientated park with possibly the best set up I have seen for kids in our journey around Oz. Indoor littles play area, safety fenced play area for littles & older, jumping castle, great swimming pool with separate toddlers pool, TV room with lots of arm chairs, play room for big kids i.e. game machines & billiard table, tennis court and jacuzzi room. The amenities (2 separate blocks) were mostly clean and heated and several BBQ's around the park. Some sites are hard to get into due to trees and some have single slabs, some double and one treble slab; staff direct you to your site and help with parking if requested. Trees are scattered throughout the park which has a large number of cabins all around the perimeter. The grassed area in the middle of the biggest block is divided into tent sites and these were all taken during our stay which was in the middle of January school holidays when the park was full. There are no permanents in this BIG4 park which has security boom gates.

Very pleasant lady in reception, who explained all the local tourist attractions and pointed them out on the map, also escorted us to our site. A large caravan park with a few cabins, most sites appear level, in the area we were the sites sloped slightly back to front. A lot of the grass areas were being re-grassed. The combined toilets and showers block were very clean and heated. There is a indoor camp kitchen, outdoor bbq area, laundry, children's play area. Digital TV channels available, there is good telephone and internet coverage (Telstra), water pressure is good, dump point and no permanent cabins.
Likes: Very pro-active staff who went around checking vans/awnings etc when a storm with strong wind gusts was forecast. Sovereign Hill is within walking distance via a side gate.

Went to great lengths to accommodate us after making a mistake in the length of our van. Nice Staff. Average park. Nice town. Park amenities were always messy and full of mud and footprints. Lots of kids during school holidays but still only cleaned once. Seemed to have good activities for kids. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff helped us at the site. Reasonable value for money ($38 2A per night, peak season). We paid $35.80 because of BIG4 discount. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were dirty, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to most sites, shade to most sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, camp kitchen, dump point, secure entry, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Noisy, plenty of shade. Clean gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. Clean heated pool. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: Walking distance to Sovereign Hill.
Dislikes: Amenities needed more regular cleaning with so many kids in the park
Added Touches: Discounts arranged at many local attractions. Half tennis court

Great park for families. Well laid out, not too big and very safe. Excellent playground as well as an under 5's indoor playground. Well maintained indoor games room with table tennis and air hockey, and a beautiful pool. Holiday activities were on daily. Complimentary 2 hour craft or games each day and a video at 5.00pm each day. This was a wonderful park and we would definitely stay here again. Easy walk to Sovereign hill. Very friendly staff. Price was as expected, very good value for money ($45.00 2A 1C, powered, peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is bad, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. The previous reports reflect our views. At $37.80 after discount the park is a bit overpriced - particularly as we were located on a powered camping site. On a positive note, the site was flat, lots of shade and well away from the highway noise. The facilities and roads are really substandard - but clean and plenty of hot water. The staff were friendly and escorted us to our site and gave guidance. There are some sites with slabs but not likely to take larger vans. There is free spa for BIG4 members provided you make a booking. The park is easy to find. We will probably have a look at some others next time.

Report submitted by Bluey and Rose, Flagstaff Hill SA (70).

This is a fairly typical BIG4 Park or resort for caravans. It's in serious need of some work and many of the cabins and facilities are tired and could do with paint and refurbishment. The toilet shower block clean but old. The roads are in the main unsealed and gravel. There is some work being done but for the price things need to be cleaned up, painted and grass cut. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Poor value for money ($42 2A per night, powered, peak season). We paid $37.80 because of chain discount. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, very few annex slabs, shade to most sites, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point, wireless internet is available, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4). Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, a few permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (20c). Good playground in average condition. Clean heated pool is shaded, toddlers catered for. Suitable for few days, suitable for families.

Likes: We were down the back in the 'Camping Area" in our van and it was great. Away from the road noise and the School Holiday crowd. The staff were exceptional.

Dislikes: We do not object to paying huge fees in School Holidays but you expect for the price the park to be really well maintained. Cabins not to have peeling paint and grass growing from gutters, doors in shower blocks to not have the paint worn through, and we could go on.
Added Touches: Kids Club

Manager's name is Mark & Adrienne Cove. This is a typical BIG4 caravan park with many features such as indoor heated pool, spa and sauna, tennis courts, pedal bikes, jumping pillow, computer games, etc. with various styles of cabins, but unfortunately the roads within the park need resurfacing and the caravan sites are poor and some are very uneven. We had great difficulty in levelling the caravan in both directions and with a park of this calibre and price this should not happen. There is no dump point which again in a caravan park like this is poor. Mark and Adrienne were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome and would definitely stay again, but will insist on a different site. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money ($33 2A per night, powered, off-peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes or 5th wheelers, very few sites are concrete annexe slabs, most sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, disabled facilities, wireless internet is available, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4). Peaceful, open and roomy, plenty of shade, too many permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (20 cents), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. Clean heated pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Heaters in the shower section
Dislikes: There is only one hand dryer in both amenities with one sink that is situated in the toilet section and away from the main hand basin area. The shower cubicles are pre-formed plastic and very small and for a park of this calibre the amenities need to be updated.
Parking: Outside reception
Added Touches: Free pancake breakfast every Saturday. Free internet. A beautiful lounge adjoining the camp kitchen with a roaring log fire in winter. A new hall has just been built and was due for completion two weeks after our stay and is available for parties and groups for their exclusive use at no extra charge.
Local Information: Sovereign Hill; Eureka Stockade (currently closed for renovation until late 2011); P.O.W. Memorial walk; and heaps more

Although the suburbs are getting nearer, this park is still rural, even if only by 300 metres. Not a big park but has variety of cabins, ensuite van sites, powered sites (with and without slabs), drive-through sites, and camping sites. One amenities, laundry and toilet block adequate for sites serviced. Recreational facilities are exceptional: heated pool and separate kids wading pool enclosed with retractable roof, tennis court, basketball net, two playgrounds (young ones and older), large TV/lounge/games room (with 4 games computers, table tennis and pool table) with wood heater for winter, well-equipped camp kitchen, spa and sauna. Free wireless internet. Good TV reception. 2 BBQs in camp kitchen and 1 beside main playground. Free pancake breakfast on Saturday mornings. Occasionally under flight path of light aircraft landing at nearby airfield, but noise not intrusive. Internal roads well maintained gravel. Management and staff very friendly and helpful. Lots to see and experience in Ballarat - Sovereign Hill, Eureka Stockade, Ballarat Art Gallery (free entry), many heritage buildings in centre of city dating back to the golden era of the 1850s. Prices as expected and reasonable at $30 2A before BIG4 discount powered.
Likes: Recreational facilities.

Very friendly and obliging staff. Good, reasonably shady level sites. We stayed in an ensuite site that appears to have been upgraded recently, however there were still a lot of finishing touches to be done. The park looked generally tired and needed some maintenance. Grass very worn. The park is a 'happy' park. The noise from the pool was minimal and non-intrusive. The park had a few well entrenched permanents. The main amenity blocks seemed clean and well maintained. We had an enjoyable few days at this park. Very friendly staff. Reasonable value for money ($38.00 2A per night, ensuite, peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided. Dislikes: It rained and it was freezing - not the parks fault though

We were disappointed in this park. Reception staff were friendly but booking could not be found. Site was drive-thru but not enough room to remain connected. Restricted number of tourist sites. Majority of sites taken up by permanents. Amenity numbers OK but not cleaned during our first day despite a full house the previous night. Cleaning on second day cursory. Garbage bins overflowing. Management not sighted in park. Park noisy with swimming pool complex next door playing loud radio all day. Would look elsewhere to stay in Ballarat in future.

Park is full of permanents and not at all aimed at tourists. However for an overnighter and at $18 (with discount) can't really complain. Lots of cabins and permanent vans with annexes and we were placed on a grassy site. The water is untreated and we chose not to run it into the van. There is a drinking water tank available. The park is on the edge of Lake Burrumbeet which has been dry for the last 6 years. In its day this would have a fantastic area for visiting. Good off leash walks for the dog on and around the lake. Average staff friendliness. Reasonable value for money ($18 2A per night, powered). Amenities are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is bad, there was inadequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided. Too many permanents. Suitable for overnighter.

Manager's name is Steve and Lynn. No longer a Family Parks member but this is a very laid back "friendly atmosphere" park if you are an oldie and we enjoyed our stay. Children are not especially welcome but smallish dogs are. The staff were disarmingly friendly and helpful, especially with tourist information. Power, water and sullage, no problem. The GPS led us a dance on our initial arrival but you don't actually have to circumnavigate the globe to get to the park from Ballarat. Won't try and explain, you'll find it. It is generally very quiet once the nearby highway sounds become background noise. The amenities block is adequate but not special. There seemed to be no disabled facilities. The guests, like the park staff, were relaxed and friendly. You don't receive a rule sheet (yippee) yet everyone respected everyone else. There were no irritating keys, lock combinations or cards required, nor a dump point - just use the toilet block. The park roads are gravel and the sites are stone chips. There is a pool but no playground. The manageress seemed to use the laundry much of the day for cabin linen but cheerfully stepped aside for guests. Ballarat centre is five mins away by car and this city boasts a very nice Botanical Gardens with a lake and a glorious display of begonias in the autumn and lots of mosquitoes (though not at the caravan park). Ballarat is also the home of the Eureka Stockade but the tourist side of that is sadly neglected.

I would agree with previous comments; this is definitely the best caravan park we have stayed in and well deserves its high ratings from happy customers. We have been told that the two brothers have made big changes from lots of permanents to its current format of only 16 sites which all have their own roomy en-suite with soap, hand-towel and bathmat provided. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice. Very good value for money ($30 2A per night, ensuite We paid $27 because of FPA discount. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to most sites, shade to most sites, ensuite sites available, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 3). Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade. Gas bbq (20c 10 mins), congenial bbq area atmosphere. Good playground in good condition. Clean pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park.
Likes: The layout, each site divided from neighbours by gardens and a thickly grassed area in the middle strips. Beautiful lush lawn leading over to the pool area which was very well maintained.
Dislikes: Some sites are more trickier to get into than others due to the road width. There is one drive through site. The ring round in the park would be best suited to be one way rather than in any direction.
Parking: Pull in lane for reservations
Roads: Double lane divided highway outside park so good indication to pull off the highway is needed as the traffic tends to speed in this section. If heading south there is a well sign-posted turning facility just past the park.

We, like everyone else, just loved this park and would not even consider staying anywhere else. It would be very close to the best park we have ever stayed in. Now member of Family Parks. Good value - $28 2A per night, ensuite. Paid $25.20 after Family Parks discount. Only 16 van sites of which 10 have van and annex slabs and the remainder are well grassed. Sites nicely spaced. All sites have clean, fully equipped ensuites. Park is on the Calder Hwy but van sites are sufficiently back from the road and among trees so that traffic noise is not intrusive. Good for both short and long stays.

Managed by Stevenson family. Probably one of the best thought-out parks we've come across in nearly 3yrs of travelling in a 10m 5th wheeler. Run by the lovely Stevenson family this is how every park should be. Each well defined site has its own ensuite close by with hand soap, handtowel and bathmat provided. The heated pool and surrounding area with lounges and sun shades looked wonderful though the weather wasn't good enough for us to use it. Although it's 8kms from Bendigo centre the Kangaroo Flat Shopping Plaza with both Coles and Safeway was only 2.5kms away and the drive into Bendigo is a very easy one. We stayed at the park for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money ($25 2A per night, ensuite, shoulder season). Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers. Good laundry. Quiet, open & roomy park, no permanents. Clean heated pool is shaded, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more.
Likes: A very well maintained park with good facilities.
Dislikes: Some road noise at night from the Calder Hwy
Parking: If in a large van it's better to park on the highway shoulder as the check-in area is not ideal for large rigs

Pleasant park with well laid out sites. Unfortunately the horseshoe drive around the powered sites is quite narrow so the sites are difficult to get into. There are large areas of lush green grass which are watered frequently, but the garden beds are sparse and very dry. We stayed for one week but didn't see anything of management or garden staff in that time. Reception was friendly but quite casual. Friendly staff. Very good value for money ($25 2A per night, ensuite, peak season). Amenities were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area. Mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to most sites, shade to most sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, camp kitchen, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4). Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, no permanents. UC, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. Clean pool, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more.
Likes: The well laid out sites and ensuites.
Dislikes: Difficult to manoeuvre into the sites and no assistance given
Parking: We found the parking outside the office quite confusing as there are no directional signs. It would be chaos if a van was leaving the park when another was coming in.

Manager's name is Dwayne. The manager who booked us in was Dwayne who is very pleasant and friendly. He allows small, well-behaved dogs.

The sites: This is a smallish park with sixteen powered sites. Now get this: Every site has an en suite bathroom but the cost is only $25 a night. Our en suite bathroom was of a very high standard with soap, hand towel and foot towel provided. It was like being at home; hell it was better than being at home. The sites are very sensibly laid out, some with concrete pads, some grass, all with provision to park your car next to your van. Neat, simple, functional. Similarly the power, water and sullage drain are right where you need them, on the right rear corner of the caravan. This park has been thoroughly thought out!
The park: The roads in this model park are grey gravel contained by wooden borders. The whole park is immaculate. There are many cabins but no on-site vans or permanents. Wireless Internet is available. There are plenty of trees, some in blossom, and lawn areas. There is a laundry, a pool (no overhead shade), camp kitchen and more than one barbecue area. One of the things I really like is that we were not given a list of rules, nor were there any irritating notices telling us what we can and can't do.

The area: If your van or car needs maintenance - those wheel bearings need greasing perhaps - there is a large independent caravan service business just along the road behind Prestige Jayco agency. A large shopping precinct is also within a five minute drive. It includes both the major supermarkets and a Bunnings. Supermarket discount fuel is there too. Bendigo, ten kms N up the Calder Hwy, is a nice, historic town with lovely old buildings and no glass-and-concrete towers. Town tours on 'talking trams' are available.

Manager's name is Stevenson Family. This is a beautiful park, and probably the best one we have stayed in, with outstanding value for money, especially for a powered ensuite site. Sites have concrete pads, with a path leading to the ensuite (no getting feet or slippers dirty and muddy). Lovely garden areas between sites create privacy and add to the attraction of the park. The owners take great pride in their park, and it shows with the quality of the facilities and the friendliness of staff. A wonderful park in a lovely part of Victoria! Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money ($20.00 2A per night, ensuite, off-peak season). Manager's name is Paul. If all parks were judged against this park they would only get a 3 rating. We have travelled this great country extensively and this park would have to be one of the best for value ($20 per night ensuite) and presentation. The ensuites were very modern and kept in excellent condition. The surrounding areas were all neat and tidy and well maintained and the BBQ 's were complimentary. The park has a swimming pool and kid's playground and was well maintained in nice lawn areas. People with kids who are looking for all the latest gadgets and entertainment should give it a miss. Manager's name is The Stevenson Family. What a magic find. This is one of the best parks we have stayed at in our 12 months touring Australia. Every site has a spacious ensuite, there is heaps of space around each site as well as landscaping between sites and spacious grassed areas behind each site. We had no problems parking our 6.6m caravan. The owners are continually upgrading the facilities and the whole park is a credit to them. We loved the spaciousness and tranquillity of the park and would definitely stay there again and again. We have found while travelling around Oz that the best parks are generally owner/operated. This is one of them. The owners are very friendly and have obviously worked hard to achieve such a spotless park. The facilities are first class, the covered pool area is lovely and there is a children's playground and jumping pillow. The amenities are modern and clean, with a generous shower cubicle, with curtain. The roads are wide, sites have a concrete slab and ample room for parking. Not a lot of grass, but they are trying. A new rec room has just been completed, with lounges, tables and chairs and a coffee machine. There is a TV room, games room and camp kitchen. Bendigo is a nice town, with enough to do for a few days, or if some rest is needed from travelling, this would be the place. There is even a Myers in town.

362 High Street, Golden Square. 2.5 kms S of the fountain in the heart of Bendigo. Ph: 03 5443 6937. Dogs on leash.

New managers took this park over a couple of years ago and it is now quite a reasonable park. The really grotty area where the permanents are has been reduced in size by the introduction of a multitude of cabins. The small tourist park area has about 30 powered sites, serviced by a nicely renovated (clean) amenities block with heated floor. The sites are fairly level, reasonable in size & have some shade. Drive through sites are available. There is a readily accessible dump site for motorhomes as well as a cassette dump point. There is a laundry, TV room, basic camp kitchen & a BBQ area (coin in slot). There is also a small pool and children's playground. The office has a reasonably stocked kiosk. At $28 per night for a couple in the low season it could be considered a bit pricy for what it is, but may be worth it if you need to be close in to the town centre, as it is within walking distance (about 2 km).

Likes: Sites were drive through and easy to get into. There was a nice grass area to walk the dogs in the park. Water and sullage were close to van, tourists all together. The closest park to town. Nice camp kitchn.
Dislikes: There was a school next door to the park, where the PA system and music each morning blared out really noisily.
Parking: Off street parking to check in.
Local Information: There are plenty to do in Bendigo. We went on the talking Tram where dogs were allowed, tour of mine, Bendigo pottery where you can have 1/2 hour lesson (well worth it), Chinese museum, many things to do.
Roads: The roads are fine, I took the back road from Geelong, through to Bacchus Marsh then Daylesford, roads where wide, not many overtaking lanes, but not much traffic.

The park is situated adjacent to the town oval next to the Glenelg River, just N of the main street. You turn into Clark Street off the Henty Hwy to approach the park. Ph: 03 5581 2070. Dogs allowed.

This is a small park in a small country town - so don't expect too much. However the sites are flat and close to amenities which are limited but probably OK. In peak times (during the Kelpie Muster) the park is full and lots of dogs (lots of fun too). We were located within the oval precinct as the caravan park was jammed packed. We had power but no water. The manager was friendly and does this as a part time job along with many other things in the park. At $20 a night (which allowed access to the activities on the oval on the Sunday - normally $5 per person) it was pretty good value. The toilets at the oval were 'just' although some new ones have been built behind the grandstand which are very good, but a long way from the sites. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend which has plenty of highlights featuring Kelpies. It is likely to be very quiet on other times with no problems getting a shower or toilet seat. The facilities were clean but old. Worth a few days stay - lovely people in the town. Roads to Casterton from Mount Gambier and then to Penola both excellent.

This is a small community park with no resident caretaker. You get the key from the Tourist Office just over the river at the eastern end of the main street. If they are shut then just set yourself up and ask someone for the amenities security code and pay the $17.50 fee the next morning. This is a basic, well grassed park with a small but clean and adequate amenities block - 2 showers, 2 toilets, soap and hand dryers. It is next to the footy oval and there can be a little bit of noise if you're there on a training night. It is an open park with no fences or gate but this is not a problem. There are no trees except for some massive redgums along the creek. Casterton is the 'home of the kelpie'. It is an attractive town with a commitment to tourism. Ask for the informative pamphlet - Casterton - Kelpie Country at the Info centre. Worth a stay of a day or so to take in local attractions. The Casterton Hotel has great meals but there are several other eating places in the main street. It is also an ideal stopover when travelling some of the excellent 'back-roads' between SA and Vic. Good management. Good value for money. Good amenities, adequate number to cater for tourists, close to sites, were clean, were in good condition, water pressure was okay, there was adequate hot water. Good sites, adequate number of tourist sites, sites were level, drive-through sites were available. Laundry. Good atmosphere to park, open and roomy park.
Likes: Well grassed.
Dislikes: Well signposted coming from Melbourne but not as good coming from SA side.

Manager's name is Graeme. We stayed in an as-new cottage with balcony at front and back, beautiful timber floors, large lounge / kitchen area, queen-sized bed in bedroom. Spotless ensuite, modern fittings and plenty of hot water. Very friendly staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money ($109 2A per night, cabin, shoulder season). We paid $86 because of 4 night package at seniors rates. Water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Basic camp kitchen, mobile wireless not available. Peaceful, claustrophobic park, no permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (free). No playground. Clean pool. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: park is now almost all cabins of various sizes and age, but all kept very clean and tidy, only about 8 van sites I think.
Dislikes: All the cottages were together and had nice little gardens planted around them a bit tight when parking next to cottages; not a lot of room
Parking: plenty of room
Added Touches: one of the friendliest owners I have come across although they have only been there since July 2011, offered to drive us to the station and pick us up after, advised where the local supermarket and petrol stations were
Local Information: steam train from Maldon arrives morning and afternoons every Sunday and Wednesday at Castlemaine station. If you ring ahead, ignore directions given to you by park, as it requires you to cross 2 lanes the wrong way against on coming traffic. Do your own homework, much safer. This must have been a caravan park at some time, but is now jammed packed with cabins. Of the 4 sites available one has a permanent on it. The other three are rough to say the least. But, the staff are friendly, the amenities are clean and in good condition. 5 mins walk to CBD. 15 mins to railway station. At $113.00 for 7 nights, powered site, it suited me. Castlemaine is a great town, and is central to the old Gold Field districts. Don't be put off by this report, this park does not pretend to be anything else than what it is. Give it a whirl. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, sites will accommodate small to medium vans. This is a small park which needs a revamp. The cabin was very nice and clean with en-suite but had no hot water and we couldn't find the gents amenities so had to endure a cold shower. It was 35 degrees when we were there but pool still closed early. Also is adjacent to the main train line so could get very noisy. On arrival staff were rather indifferent, friendlier guy on the counter when we left. Average staff friendliness, average staff response to complaints Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($69 2A per night cabin). There was inadequate hot water. Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean UC bbq. No playground. Clean heated pool is open to the sun, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for few days, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: The cabin itself was fine for the price - outdoor furniture provided, nice and clean
Dislikes: No hot water in the cabin and could not find amenities block - although they did mention when we checked out that we should have let them know as it probably meant the gas had run out. Is it not their job to check these things
Local Information: Castlemaine is a beautiful spot, history very well preserved - the botanic gardens are a highlight. I recommend printing out the historical society's tourist walk and going for a hike

Doran Avenue, next to the Botanical Gardens just behind the old pump foundry. Pets allowed on a limited number of sites. Dogs are not permitted over the Easter Holidays. See this park's listing on the BIG4 website for all pet conditions.

This park has a really good amenities block and the sole staff member, who appeared to be rushed off her feet, was friendly and helpful. However, the bare earth sites were nowhere near level and the paved roads were potholed and barely wide enough to be able to manoeuvre the van onto the site. None of the sites in the area allocated to tourists had sullage ("just let it run into the garden"). Not what we had come to expect from BIG4.

Now a BIG4 park with recently renovated amenity block, this is certainly an improvement on the last time we were here in 2006. The park is next to Botanical Gardens which are well worth a stroll around. The town centre is a good long walk - but worth it. The amenities block is clean and modern and the park has a laundry, camp kitchen and barbeque. Sullage, water and electricity points are conveniently placed to sites. Cost was $30 2A powered site. There seem to be about 8 sites that would take a 20ft+ caravan, though most sites are quite small. There is no dump point or any of the other little extras often found at BIG4 parks, such as modern playgrounds, pool, jumping pillow etc - and I was surprised that there seemed to be a large number of permanents - unusual for BIG4 parks. However it has just joined the group and may have improvements planned - certainly I couldn't fault the friendliness of the park managers. My biggest gripe was the slope on the sites - at least on the larger ones- you definitely need to chock wheels if you want a good night's sleep. It is a bit of a job to level a 26ft motorhome with chocks on an unlevel site so I probably wouldn't stop here again for an overnight stay.

Charlton Travellers Rest Ensuite Caravan Park, Charlton
Click here for park details on My Park List
Located on a side street off High St. The access street (John Curtin Drive, but no signs noticed) is on the left about 250m after the bridge over the Avoca River if coming from the north, or on the right just after the East Charlton Hotel if coming from the south. Pay for and collect keys from the bar of the East Charlton Hotel. Phone: 03 5491 1613 - but may not be answered straight away - depends how busy the bartender is. Pets allowed.

This is a small park run by a community committee - there is no manager on site. No assistance at the site, but it is all easy to sort out. Return keys in the morning to the hotel or butcher next door (depends on time) for refund. There are 2 ensuite buildings, each with 4 ensuite units/powered sites. The vehicles and vans are arranged around the buildings like a wagon train, nose-to-tail. You can leave the van hooked up if not too big - each vehicle/van bay is about 14m long. The ensuite units are fairly new and were very clean. Price was $25 per night 2A (plus refundable $10 key deposit) - excellent value. Water pressure was good, and I expect there would be adequate hot water - the HWS has storage of about 300L and reheats about 200L per hour - this is for the 4 ensuites in the block. TV cable is in the ensuite (5 main digital channels, 2, 3, 7, 9 and 10). Playground is approx 100m away, and community (pay) BBQ is 200m away towards High St. Sites are well lit to ensuite, have lawn and concrete path to ensuite. At least one ensuite is suitable for wheelchairs. No sullage points for the sites, but some grey water could go onto the lawn by hose - we used a bucket. There is no laundry at the site, but one is evidently available at the Gordon Caravan Park on the other side of the river. There is a dump point towards the back of the park. No Vodafone signal, but Telstra was full 5 strength. Fairly quiet overnight, some cockatoos in the trees at dusk and dawn. There is a railway line about 100m behind the sites, but the line appears to be seldom used. We heard some traffic from High Street, but nothing to keep us awake. Charlton was flooded (again) in Jan 2011, and some businesses were still refitting in late March. Support the businesses if you can. Meals at the hotel were good value, and we couldn't eat all of the serving. Definitely worth a stay if you are going this way.

Charlton is a small town in North Central Vic that know how to do everything possible to be genuinely RV Friendly. Everything has been done to encourage caravanners to stop over. With your caravan/motorhome/tent you have 3 options all within a short walk to the shops: ensuite sites at $25 per night; powered ($12) & unpowered ($10) sites in Gordon Park Camping Ground with facilities (caretaker Ph: 03 5491 1765); or a newly added free area for fully self-contained units. The local community know the importance of tourism to the local businesses & try to get as many people as possible to stop for a short break or a night or more. Even if not staying overnight there is a "Travellers Rest" with seats, shade & toilets as well as plenty of easy access & space to park a caravan just a short walk (100m) to the main street & shopping. The older caravan park is on one side of the Avoca River while the en-suites & free camping area is on the opposite side, connected by a walk bridge. There is a swimming pool close by the caravan park areas. There are plenty of shops in the town including banks, pubs, newsagent, post office, butcher, bakery, menswear, home wares, hardware, supermarket, pharmacy, fish & chip shop, excellent coffee shops and antique & collectable shops as well as service businesses like auto electrician, mechanics plus 3 fuel outlets. For non caravanners there are 2 motels & a B&B.

We love this little park which consists of 8 ensuite sites right in the centre of town. $25 a night and you pay at the pub and return the keys to the butchers shop when you leave. This is a true RV friendly town and other small towns should take note of what they have done here.

Purcell St. Follow caravan park signs. Ph: 03 5345 3278. Pets allowed.

This is a very old council park in a very old goldmining town which is steeped in history. The main street still looks to be in the 1850's. The park is very poor and barely suited for an overnight stop. A fully self contained van would assist. If council rebuilt the park I am sure the town would reap the benefit with a large increase in tourism.

Stayed 2 nights, $24.00 per night. We had stayed in this park for a few nights in 2007. Frank was very helpful then and the same could be said this time. Various site sizes which could accommodate large vans. Our site, No. 24, was a drive-through site, on grass/dirt, reasonably level, and very close to the amenities block. The amenities block is central to the park and was clean and well maintained. The laundry was clean with two washing machines and a dryer, and plenty of hanging space. This park is a basic park with quite a few permanents, most located in a separate area. This park was flooded a few months ago in the Creswick floods but had been returned to a reasonable state. The entry was over this little 'bridge' and the drains, while we were there, were being cleaned out and the entry road was being repaired. Basic camp kitchen. Clean pool. Dump point. This is a basic quiet caravan park and we would definitely stay again.

Manager's name is Frank. Frank was very helpful as we had to un-bog our coach due to a lot of rain and a grassy site. He did all the digging! All internal roads in the park are bitumen, therefore not muddy or dusty. Very friendly staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money ($23 2A per night, powered, off-peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with concrete annex slabs, shade to most sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, basic rec room, late checkout allowed, good camp kitchen, dump point, van parking, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, a few permanents. No bbqs. Basic playground in good condition. Clean pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park.

About 2 km S of Daylesford on the Ballan - Daylesford Rd. Coming from Ballan Park on left next to footy ground before township. Family Parks member. Ph: 03 5348 3821. Pets allowed, at manager's discretion, on leash at all times.

FPA park with dogs allowed at managers discretion. Late checkouts not allowed. Overall the managers were pleasant and helpful. There is a small kiosk for minor items such as icecreams & newspapers but it is a solid walk into town for groceries. This is an old well-shaded park with brick paved pads adjacent to most (grassed) sites. Power and water were close but no sullage and there is no dump point. The sites are generally good sized with some OK for larger vans and motorhomes but most are unlevel - some worse than others. The amenities are old and would be hard pressed to cope with a full park. Shower cubicles were the smallest I have ever come across. They were kept quite clean during our stay, as was the covered barbeque area. There is also a small laundry and a neat little playground. There are many cabins and a number of permanents, mostly annuals. We have been here a few times and found this a park to avoid if it is raining as the red mud sticks to everything. However the Daylesford/Hepburn area is an interesting area well worth a visit and the park is reasonably priced at $28 (2A) per night.

The tourists were all in one area and then there was the unpowered area around. The unpowered area was however not level in many spots. Not sure about the wireless internet, couldn't get it anywhere in the area yet we were only an hour or so from Melbourne Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Daylesford-Ballan road, 1 km from Daylesford Town centre. Signposted Lake Jubilee. Ph: 03 5348 2186. Dogs on leash.

This park was in the process of changing over to a new lease holder and consequently showing some signs of lack of interest by existing management. The whole park exhibits lack of investment and control over a long period. Sites are small and uneven. Roads are unsealed and un-maintained. High number of permanents with that section of the park laid out like a "dog's breakfast". Standard of construction and additions give the park a "shantytown" look. The park location is excellent. Management disinterested. If plans are as set out in local newspaper article then park will be redeveloped over the next few years. Its a case of "watch this space", but in its present state we would look for somewhere else to stay. Price was as expected, poor value for money ($23 2A powered). Amenities are old but clean, number was adequate to cope with the number of people. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, poor night lighting, small sites. Quiet, too many permanents. Suitable for few days.

A very basic country town park with an old, dilapidated, fairly clean, amenities block. The laundry consisted of one very old domestic type washing machine and a sink. We had power and water to our (unlevel) site but no sullage. There is a BBQ area but little else. There is a dump point - it is also available for a fee if you are not staying at the park. The site fee is $22 2A powered. The manager was pleasant and chatty - he was pretty easygoing about our choice of site as he commented some available weren't very level. We stopped at Dunkeld to have a meal at the celebrated Royal Mail Hotel. The bistro and restaurant are apparently booked months ahead so we had the bar meal. This was expensive but very good - so long as you don't want wine. The cheapest bottle on the wine list was $43 - this for a bar meal. The caravan park is one of those you stop at if you are tired and need a rest - otherwise I would keep driving.

Edenhope Lakeside Tourist Park, Edenhope

Coming from Melbourne turn right at the Police Station and right into Lake St. Coming from Tailem Bend turn left at the Police Station. Lake St, 100m N of PO. Ph 03 5585 1659. Pets allowed on leash.

Manager's name is Jenny and Jeff. A lot has changed at this park since the last report of April 2010. The current owners purchased the park 16 months ago. There was no hot water (at all) in the kitchen or one of the amenity blocks for 2 days. Both amenity blocks had not been cleaned for a long time. They might have had a quick mop once in awhile but that's all. Taps were grimy and so were the walls. Toilets were clean and so were the bins. Two days after the shearers left, we were still finding sheep's wool on the floor. There was a table & chairs provided on the site which belonged at the tip (same on most sites) looked like they had not been cleaned in years, dirty and full of spiders. The camp kitchen stinks of grease, and all the equipment was grimy/dirty. There was a dirty BBQ outside the camp kitchen without a gas bottle. Rec room - well that had a sign on it "open 10am-10pm" but in the week we stayed, it was never opened. Very run down park. Way too many old rundown vans on site that they rent out to the shearers; maybe if they moved those vans to another part of the park it would have looked a lot better. There are only 24 sites. No drive through sites at all. No TV reception. We stayed a week which was 6 days too long. Owners were friendly in their own way. No happy hour. On the plus side - Lake Wallace is now full of water. They have a nice undercover area with tables & chairs overlooking the lake, unfortunately had the look of not been used in a long time, not dirty or grimy just full of dust and spiders. I would not recommend this park. Friendly staff, average staff response to complaints, staff helped us at the site. Poor value for money ($25 2A per night, powered, off-peak season). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to all sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was inadequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate small to medium vans, no sites with annex slabs, shade to most sites, adequate taps close by. Basic laundry, basic camp kitchen, late checkout allowed, no wireless internet available. Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, no permanents. Dirty UC gas bbq (free), dismal bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground, no pool. Suitable for overnighter.
Local Information: Arrived around 1pm Sunday, supermarket closed. Monday & Tuesday closed for long weekend, Wednesday closed 4.30 even though sign said open till 5pm. The pub with no grog - not really but they ran out of VB long necks and only had 1 brand of Scotch on the shelf. Buy your supplies before you get to Edenhope.

Manager's name is Steve & Eve. We recently spent a week (including Easter) along with a group of our friends at this park. The management couldn't do enough for us. They joined us for happy hour and they made bacon and eggs along with Champagne and orange juice for Sunday Breakfast. The amenities were very clean and shampoo, conditioner, lotion and shower caps were supplied in the ladies, similar supplies were in the gents along with shaving cream. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money ($132 2A per week, powered, peak season). (Don't confuse with Grampians Gate Caravan Park in Stawell.) On intersection of Stawell and Ararat-Halls Gap roads, approximately 3km on the Stawell side of Halls Gap. Ph: 03 5356 4244. Family Parks member. Pets at manager's discretion, on leash.

$10 deposit required on arrival for bond on powered site (no key needed for toilets! ) BBQ cost $2 for 5mins, $8 to cook sausages. Toilet paper ran out and when management asked to refill we were told they didn't start work for another hour and a half and wouldn't refill until then. If park wants to fill to the max they need to clean amenities a lot more often. Bins were overflowing and not emptied at BBQ for two days. Park in need of a lot of maintenance. Average staff friendliness, bad staff response to complaints. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($40 2A 2C per night, powered, peak season). Inadequate number of amenities, are close to only some sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is bad, there was inadequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, average sized sites, very few concrete annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by. Likes: nice walking track to town from park
Dislikes: General maintenance of park was appalling.
Added Touches: Allowed fires, could buy wood for $1 a small block outside kiosk
Local Information: Beautiful scenery, numerous walking tracks. Lovely gift shops in town. Open air movie night at rec reserve. Town maps and signs were very helpful. Sunday market with wide variety of stalls. Plentiful wildlife.

Manager's name is Jo & Steve. Arrived to find we were charged peak rates in August when most of the surrounding national park's walks, roads and lookouts were closed due to flood damage. As most of Halls Gap relies on this draw card the high price was not appropriate. Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Poor value for money ($32.00 2A per night, powered, peak season). We paid $28.80 because of CMCA discount. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, basic camp kitchen, secure entry, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Optus, reception quality was 3). Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, no permanents. Clean UC gas bbq, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting. No playground, no pool. Suitable for few days.
Likes: Easy walk to shops. Ground mats on site. A basket of shower mats provided in showers.
Dislikes: Press button code locks on toilet doors, too fiddley and hard to see at night
Parking: Designated entry lane for reception
Added Touches: Some sites have fire places
Local Information: Very picturesque place but next time we will make sure it is all up and running before we go.

Likes: Central to Halls Gap, Lots of Kangaroos. Campfires are allowed in fireplaces or BBQ area.
Dislikes: Poor park. Soap containers in bathroom empty and rubbish bins overflowing, not emptied for 2 days. Toilets not properly cleaned for four days, were only cleaned on the day we left when a bus group arrived. Boom gate not working, most shower heads were loose and leaked badly wetting clothes hanging on hooks. No camp kitchen as such only covered BBQ's and 6 table and benches in a bricked in shelter shed with an open fire. A group from the cabins occupied the area for 3 days/nights, no room for anyone else, they were extremely noisy and management didn't respond. Amenity block was in urgent need of upgrading, doors didn't lock tiles missing from floor in shower cubicle. Very poor TV reception.
Parking: Parking available near office
Added Touches: Wood available from office at $20 per bag enough for a night in winter.

Park Gate Resort, Halls Gap
Click here for park details on My Park List
Grampians Road, 1.3 km N of Halls Gap, on main road from Stawell to Halls Gap, just before bridge leading into Halls Gap. Ph: 03 5356 4215 or 1800 810 781. BIG4 member. No pets allowed.

We arrived the first week of January to find the powered sites fully booked (and by golly they were full indeed). This turned out well - if you have the means, we recommend the unpowered camping ground. There are 10-12 sites along a tree-lined creek bed with a big oval behind you, so minimal neighbours and lots of room to spread out, plus decent shade. No taps or sullage in this area but close to free BBQ, ok distance to amenities. $30 per night was a bit steep for unpowered but you expect that at this time of year. Powered sites were a combination of slab or gravel, there are ensuites. Grounds are well kept (despite the locusts) and staff are always around looking after things or tidying. Amenities block is along rear fence so not really close to all sites but no-one is camping right on top of the loos either. The most popular feature of the ladies loo is the hairdo corner - shelf with its own mirror, light and power point, but no basin. Oddly, the camp kitchen is at the front with the games room and pool and jumping pillow, which means it's not really near almost any of the sites, and certainly not near the unpowered. Bit strange that. Pool is nice but has no shade.
Local information: If you have the fitness don't miss the trek up to the Pinnacle - but don't do it in the midday heat. We frequented the Black Panther Cafe in town for delicious cakes after touring the NP. The Adventure Golf course just out of town lives up to its name, definitely good for adults as well as kids.

Likes: The location of the park is awesome. The Grampians are in the background and the Halls Gap township is a short drive away. The showers were large, the water pressure was fantastic and there was plenty of hot water. A new pool was being built and looked fantastic.
Dislikes: The park had drains across parts of the roads that were hazardous to small children on bikes/scooters. I lost count of the number of children I saw come off their bike going over one of the drains. The park has numerous ducks which leave droppings everywhere. After the amenities were cleaned the floors were left very wet and there were no warning signs to tell you the floors were wet. At check in we were told our site was at the end of a dead end street. No assistance was provided and we were told "I don't know how you'll get the van in - see how you go." and then there are trees planted in front of the concrete slab you have to negotiate around. The games room was very old and only some of the games worked. There was inadequate ventilation in the female showers.

Manager's name is Chris and Margaret Hawkins. Simply Stunning. Loved every second of our weeks stay. Picture perfect setting. The park is full of wildlife. Rosellas will help you with breakfast. Rosellas & Cockys everywhere, kangaroos in the park as well. The birds are very tame and the kangaroos will only graze on a vacant site. Tad too much kangaroo poop on the ground but small price to pay for such a glorious park, just make sure you put a ground sheet down. Camp Kitchen/Lounge area - well setup with TV & Open Fire Place. Flat/even ground sites at the bottom end of the park and some that are a little uneven at the top end, unlike me. Choose carefully and your fridge will work. Not sure about wireless internet as I never used it, has TV reception. Would I go there again - a big yes. Would I recommend this park - a big yes. Manager's name is Chris and Margaret Hawkins. This pleasant park has a real "bush" feel about it though there are some aspects like the top amenity block that look dated. The pool is not much more than a large bathtub and it would have been nice to have fire-pits and wood available free of charge to fit in with the ambience of the park. If you feed the cockies do it well away from the van as they will chomp outside matting, thongs, anything going. Average staff friendliness, staff explained park layout and facilities. Likes: Quiet bush setting with great views of the mountains, wildlife and a nice open and relaxed feel. Showers were great with excellent pressure and plenty of hot water.
Dislikes: Drive thru sites were a decent size but very unlevel. Top amenity block dated, lots of cobwebs around and only 2 out of the 3 showers in the ladies operational - not sure how they would cope in peak periods.

Glenelg Hwy. This park is on the Ballarat Road east of Hamilton. There are some signs in town but could do with more. The main problem is that if you are coming from the west you have to do a U-turn on the main road as there is a dual carriage barrier opposite the entrance. On left when coming into Hamilton CBD from east just prior to crossing the railway overpass. Ph: 03 5572 3855 or 1800 044 203. Top Tourist member. Small pets only allowed, at managers discretion, on leash at all times.

This is a very pleasant park in a convenient location even though if coming from Portland one needs to do a U-turn on the main road which requires ones attention when turning. We took an ensuite site and considered this good value. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Manager's name is Gary & Tania Traynor. Generally the sites are very unlevel and after messing around on one site trying to get balanced, opted to move to an ensuite site with a concrete pad. It was not worth the $9 per night difference. The water pressure was dismal and the water not hot enough. The park is in a good location central to everything but overpriced. Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Poor value for money ($37 2A, ensuite, off-peak season). Ensuite was clean, condition is good, water pressure is bad, there was inadequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, concrete annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. You can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 3). Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, no permanents. Suitable for few days.
Likes: Park borders walking trail along river edge and to Lake Hamilton. Great walks particularly if you have a dog. The managers are very relaxed about pets. Walking distance to town.
Dislikes: Well overpriced for an average park. The U-turn to get into the park from the highway can be dangerous particularly during peak traffic times.

An excellent park. Well managed and well presented. Management is efficient, friendly and extremely welcoming. You are given a choice of site and when settled on the site the registering process is sorted out. Park is clean and handy to town. Amenities are spotless but would not cope with even a half full park. Sites are large. There are no slabs; some sites are gravel others grass. Nice caravan park, next to the river/creek and easy walk to Lake Hamilton and Ansett Museum. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was higher than expected, reasonable value for money ($39 1A per night powered). Amenities were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Secure entry. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Dogs on leash, pool is shaded. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: Drive through ensuite sites, close to the lake, nice walks around for the dogs, TV cable to each ensuite site (free), friendly management, sites easy to get into. With all the rain, the sites still did not get boggy or too wet. It was a nice park.
Dislikes: Price was a bit high especially for 1 person. The river/creek is next to the park with a walking track but no fence around park, which was nice in one aspect but also even though they had a security gate, anyone could get in walking along the water.
Parking: A lot of wide parking out front of park off the road.

Along McIvor Hwy heading from Melbourne in middle of town, right at Barrack Street (info centre on corner). 500m on right just over creek. Ph: 03 5433 2304. Dogs on leash.

This is quite a large park a short walk from the main street of Heathcote. It has permanents but they are away from the main tourist sites. Sites are fairly level and have concrete edging for some reason. They are fairly small - my 27ft motorhome just fitted on a larger site - although the manager said if we needed to we could go into the site behind as well (doubt this would apply in busy times). Sullage, water & power were all close to the site and water pressure was good. There is a dump point near the gate, outside the park. There is no kiosk - not even for bread, milk and morning paper. It is a pretty basic park with no playground or pool and the amenities are old. There are several amenity blocks, two of which were in good condition. All were clean. The BBQ area is covered with a wood fire and two coin in slot BBQ's. The BBQ's were not cleaned during our stay. One amenity block contained a basic laundry (2 washing machines/one dryer) whist another had an ironing room. There is a camp kitchen but it was locked while we were there. Overall it is your average country town park with basic facilities but at a low price ($22 2A per night - though they quote higher prices for over 24ft). It is probably less suited to families, but if you don't need playgrounds, jumping castles, pools etc then it is good value.

This is a roomy park that takes big rigs, some permanents but very quiet on the two times that we have visited. Nice arboreal surroundings, walks into State Park stunning in autumn. Facilities for travellers are old but clean, laundry is basic; Facilities key and boom gate security. Level sites on hard standing with lawn surrounds. Plenty of room for the kids to play. Hostess seems quite friendly. Power site as of our visit, $22 2A, $25 for rigs over 24ft. Possible long term stay as some sites have power meters. Town water connected, sullage drain to most sites. No frills but just a nice place. Should be busier as it is just what most Grey Nomads need. There is a CMCA public dump point just outside the gate.

We have stayed here many times both overnight and for a few days. Consistently over several years it has been a good place to stay. Amenities are good (heated in winter) even if now a little past their use-by date. Sites are spacious and there are plenty of drive-throughs for overnighters. Walks along the river are nice, particularly now it has water in it again. Staff are friendly and prices are ok (discount for RACV members). Run by the YMCA with discounts for RACV etc members. Price for powered site just after New Year was $28 per night with no discount. Good variety of site layouts including drive throughs and grassy sites for camper trailers. Basic camp kitchen, amenities are older style but very clean. Great location just on the river (which was quite full when we were there only two months after they had floods) with tennis courts and botanic garden just behind. Walking distance to town, RSL did a good dinner and we got vouchers from park manager for free dessert which was awesome. We arrived just behind two giant Jaycos so pulled up on the street verge while checking in. Would definitely return if in the area.

This park took discount if caravan park club member or NRMA or similar member. This was a very popular park whilst I was there. Nice walks along the Wimmera River, even though not much water in there, the dogs had a great time running along the river and swimming. Had a lot of exercise. The price was for an ensuite site. Unfortunately it has been affected by the drought and there is minimum grass around but they are making up for some of it by putting woodchips down. Most sites not with ensuite are all around the amenities block. Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, good value for money ($26.10 1A per night powered). Amenities were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, large sites, drive-through sites, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, kiosk, van parking. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: The ensuite site I had was very big and some were drive through. The river was near by to take dogs for a walk, the information centre was an easy walk also, and parks near by. The park was big and well laid out.
Dislikes: The laundry is a fair distance from ensuite, but as it is with the amenities, that is to be expected.
Parking: Bit hard to park and not block the entrance, so cars had to use the exit to get in whilst people checked in.
Local Information: Nice walk along River, Horsham Wool Factory, Mt Arapiles has a nice view. Wish I had time to go to Dimboola.
Roads: I went back roads from Swan Hill, the road was fine, not too narrow and had no problems. Stop at Minyip on the way if you are a fan of the show Flying Doctors which used to be on TV, still has shops around, unfortunately the town itself, a lot of the shops are closing down.

Manager's name is Jim & Robin Stewart. We stayed at Laanecoorie 1999/2000 and returned this Easter. On both occasions we have found this park to be very welcoming and both stays have been memorable. The friendliness of the permanents is very good in most instances. The park is located in a drought stricken part of Victoria, so do not expect grass. You can expect real camp fires, a bush land experience and a getting back to as close to the basics as you wish. Friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money ($24.00 2A 1C per night, powered, peak season). Excellent playground in good condition. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: The friendliness of the people in the park. The large sites, built in fire pits and being able to teach the art of jaffle cooking.
Dislikes: Only the dust, but that can be cleaned.
Parking: Nothing tricky, two spots, drive though. Quiet road outside.
Added Touches: There are a lot of park initiated activities arranged by the management. New Years Eve is a special. Pizza and casserole nights were on during Easter. The Easter egg hunt for the kids was a hit.
Local Information: There are many wine makers in the area, the park is located in the centre of the gold fields region. We did not try the local pubs, nor the fishing. Apparently, the fishing can be very good, dependant on your skill.
Roads: The roads are well maintained highways, with only a few Km's of narrow to be negotiated. The narrow road is of good quality.

Clean UC gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in average condition. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: I like the fact that it had the community playground at the rear of the park and you could see the kids from the camp grounds. There is a play area on the grounds but it could have a few more things added to it. It was very child friendly, I didn't have to stress about our children the whole time we were there. There is a community pool at the rear of the park also but it costs to get in, the toddler pool is shaded though so very child friendly. The showers are on 6minute timers but the water pressure is awesome. I was impressed with how big the washing machines were, what normally takes me 3 loads only took half a load. We enjoyed ourselves and wanted to stay longer than the 5 days we were there for. It's no Hilton Hotel but an all round good caravan park. Loved it
Dislikes: The fact that when we went it was too windy to go fishing. The playground on the camp grounds needs a bit of an update. The kitchen is in renovation so once finished would be great. But I really didn't have any dislikes at all. Except the timer on the shower but I'm used to having 15min - 30min showers.
Parking: No we just pulled over near the front entrance and there was still plenty of room for other cars to pull in
Added Touches: You are allowed fires, they have fire drums. Has a boat ramp across from the caravan park and fish cleaning facilities
Local Information: The lake is strait across the road from the caravan park, great fishing. Pub, grocery store and milk bar just a few kms down the road from the park. The information centre/kiosk sells homemade mustards, sauces, pickles, relishes and jams - all are very good
Roads: The road conditions are good you don't need a 4x4 to get there

Manager's name is Frank & Lorraine. We were scheduled to visit another area but had to cancel (at their request) due to weather, Lake Bolac was the next choice luckily for us, our schedule is planned annually - before the lake was filled. The park offered a few features attractive to club rallies, with the free pizza oven being a rare bonus that was very popular Saturday night. The park has recently changed hands and is now regaining its place as a popular tourist destination. Frank is the everywhere man, almost before needed, unfortunately this was the weekend November got it's expected total rainfall so our outdoor activities were somewhat limited. Robin & I will be voting to return to Lake Bolac with the club. Thanks Frank & Lorraine your efforts were appreciated. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money ($23 2A per night, powered, shoulder season). We paid $20 because of club may have negotiated a price. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area, disabled facilities. Mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to some sites, shade to most sites, adequate taps close by. Clean UC gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park.
Likes: Just over a small rise to the lake, and a short walk into town
Added Touches: The real bonus that highly impressed us was that a park this size took the trouble to provide good fast access to wireless internet that many big trendy parks have not yet embraced.

Horseshoe Bend Campground, Little Desert National Park
http://parkweb.vic.gov.au/explore/parks/little-desert-national-park/things-to-do/camping
Leave Dimboola town center via Wimmera Street, through the Little Desert National Park archway. Cross the river, turn left onto Horseshoe Bend Road, stay on this road until you get to the campground sign. Beware the road does twist and turn and the signs for the NP are quite easy to miss. Unpowered sites only. Ph: 13 19 63 (Parks Vic). No pets allowed.

Managed by Parks Vic. A pretty little campground in a bend of the Wimmera River with 10-20 spots depending on how your neighbours park, some suitable for large caravans or motorhomes, as they have drive-through capability. Lots of giant redgums in the area but the campground is mostly away from these and shaded by other, safer trees. Flushing toilets were a bonus, there are picnic tables and fire pits with basic BBQ plate at most sites. No power or showers. Access to the river via formed steps, good for paddling or canoeing. If you like 4WD tracks through very sandy sand you might be in heaven. Not a lot else to do but relax and be peaceful. Dimboola is not far away and has all supplies - bakery, butcher, IGA supermarket with liquor, newsagent. We had the place almost to ourselves, 2 toilets per gender would get busy if there were lots of people. Rangers visit every day. We paid $14 per night which gets you one car with up to 6 people, fees are payable at the self-registration station. Beware if it rains, the lagoons in the middle of the campground do creep up into the campsite areas (it rained a lot when we were there, this probably wouldn't happen with just a few showers).

Manager's name is Lisa & Daniel. It is three years since visiting this park and it certainly has been rejuvenated since the end of the drought - it has a delightful atmosphere being on the edge of the lake. Management has changed, perhaps for the better, though the park is in need of new facilities. The old amenity blocks are kept reasonably clean. There are 2 amenities block - one with a dump point nearby. One is old & looked reasonably clean but probably dificult to get looking good due to its condition. The other may have been reconditioned but still looks oldish & is close to where most of the permanents are so may not be kept as spotless as would be otherwise - having said that both blocks were OK cleanliness wise and my wife tells me the female amenities were clean. The playground is new - plastic type in good condition with woodchips underneath. There is a basic laundry, and a clean BBQ area. The BBQ area is basic - covered with old wooden bench nearby - but it was kept clean for the 4 days we were there. Sullage, water and electricity points are close to the sites. There are no concrete slabs, but the sites were generally pretty level - did not need to level our 27ft motorhome - and there are plenty of large sites - a 30ft motorhome was near us. I think even a 40ft bus would find a site to suit. Lighting is ok. It is quite a large park and though there are many permanents there are still many tourist sites available. Dogs are OK on a lead - but a couple throwing a ball for small their dog were threatened with eviction if they didn't put their dog on a lead. Management may have changed, but perhaps not the attitude. The park is close to town and there is a bit to see and do around Maryborough so it is a worthwhile place to stop for a few days - especially if you have your own amenities.

I wish that I could be more positive about some of the parks that I have visited. negative reports serve a purpose I suppose, but it's hard to be kind to some parks. The worst aspect of this park was the broken down old filthy amenities. So bad that I declined to shower the night that I was there. Run down and in need of a major overhaul. Average staff friendliness. Poor value for money ($20.00 1A, powered). Inadequate number of amenities, are close to only some sites, were dirty, condition is poor. No rec room, basic camp kitchen, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Claustrophobic park, too many permanents. Basic playground in good condition. Suitable for overnighter.

Manager's name is Lisa & Daniel Miller. The park is easy to find, well signposted. It is an older park but seems well cared for. The management team is friendly and helpful, sites are reasonably level with power, water and sullage close by. There are drive through sites available. The downside is that the park is adjacent to the railway and you do get some train noise at night. A park suited to overnight stops. Friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money ($24.00 2A per night, powered, off-peak season). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, water pressure is good. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with concrete annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, late checkout allowed. Quiet, open & roomy park, a few permanents.
Likes: Easy access for overnight stay, drive through sites available so saves unhitching van for just overnight stay
Dislikes: Railway noise, not very secure as open to residential street on side.
Parking: Space to park van whilst checking in.

Manager's name is Lisa. New owners took over the park in September and have a tremendous amount of work to do. It will be interesting to visit the park in a year or so to see if what improvements have been made. The camp kitchen is basic but clean. The men's amenity block, although clean, is in desperate need of upgrading. There is a large number of permanents and management need to ensure that these areas are kept clean and free of rubbish. Friendly staff. Price was lower than expected, reasonable value for money ($24 2A per night powered less Seniors discount). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, large sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, disabled facilities. Peaceful, open and roomy, not enough shade, family/friendly atmosphere, too many permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, park is considered kid-safe.

Maryborough Caravan Park is now for sale - and the managers seem to have lost interest: No maintenance appears to have been done in the last year, with blocked sullage outlets (ours & neighbours), faulty power outlets, garden beds uncared for with dying or dead plants, dirty barbeque facilities uncleaned in the 4 days we were there & the number of permanents appears to have multiplied - the only improvement is that the lake is full and wildlife abounds. The latter has nothing to do with the caravan park management, of course. In the near empty park we took the liberty of parking our vehicle under the shade of a tree in the adjoining site - only to be told by park management if we wished to do this we would have to pay for that site too! The park, with its lake outlook, could still be a great place to base yourself for a tour of this interesting region - but with its present management I would suggest Castlemaine is not far away.

Seems reasonably clean. Good as an over nighter, longer stays only if self-contained. Water on sites is not fit for drinking or food preparation as deemed by the local water board. Water in cabins is only cold water and as above is not fit for drinking or food preparation. Fresh/drinking water must be obtained via the blue piped taps. Ensuites are cold at night and suggest leaving the IXL light/heater/fan unit running or putting a small bathroom heater in there. Severe power problem so I don't suggest plugging any sensitive electrical stuff in i.e. computers or other such equipment. Driveway is good, sites are easy, level, large. Dump point available. Kids playground is very dated. There is a walk way to the town park through the fence, also a walk along the Nhill swamp on a platform boardwalk.
Dislikes: Truck stop at the front entrance especially if sheep truck pulls up.

Very basic park but lovely quiet - tourist sites on an 'island' with water on three sides of the van. Very clean and freshly painted amenities with ceiling high tiles - but no soap. Well maintained. No dump point but one in town not far away. No camp kitchen but still enjoyed being on the water. Friendly staff, staff helped us at the site. Good value for money ($22 2A per night, powered, peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Peaceful, open & roomy park, a few permanents. No pool. Suitable for few days.
Likes: Lovely amenities, water around sites very pretty
Dislikes: No dump point

Beautiful location with small lake surrounding tourist sites and lovely wooded area across bridge. Facilities (3 in all) spotless and a pleasure to use. Very friendly staff who showed us available sites and we helped ourselves. Sites are all on grass and not clearly separated which may cause some problems if full (it was nearly empty when we stayed). Just far enough away from highway to be quiet yet close enough to walk into Stawell centre. A few shaded sites but not many. As the lake is unfenced on both sides of tourist area I would have to say it is not kid safe, but the lake (no swimming) is only shallow so may not be a problem. Lots of ducks, swans, and wild life make it seem much further away from a town. Hard to rate a site like this as facilities are minimal (no pool, BBQ's, play area etc) but ambiance is superb, helped by friendly management hence a 4. We would happily stay there again rather than the more commercialised (and expensive sites) in Halls Gap. Recommended for a good few days to explore Grampians and surrounds. Good value at $22 (2A powered). Good mobile reception.
Likes: Ambience, scenery, quiet, beautiful setting

Rree dog run area designated. Friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff helped us at the site. Good value for money ($22.00 2A per night, powered, off-peak season). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Mostly unlevel sites, poor night lighting, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Clean gas bbq (free), bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. Clean pool, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for few days.
Likes: The cleanest amenities we have ever seen. Not a bad base for exploring the Grampians
Dislikes: Barbecues were old and did not cook well - Approx 45 mins to cook a sausage. Park is difficult to negotiate - if you left through the exit the tree would attack the caravan. Drains are deep and awkward to pass over. We were given the run of the park but could not find a level site.

Malcolm Wilde, manager/caretaker. This is a council owned park located away from the main area of town and does have some road noise at times from heavy transport but this did not cause a problem. Location is alongside a small creek and plenty of shade trees. Also has ensuite sites which were good value at $20.00 per night. Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Manager's name is Malcolm Wilde. Council park, managed off-site by Malcolm, but he is around most of the day attending to cleaning, maintenance, and gardening. This is one of the best parks that I have visited. Good value at $20.00 1A, ensuite. Great sites, beautiful sites and grounds. Everything is very clean and well presented by Malcolm. My ensuite was spotless. He puts his heart and soul into his job, we need more like him. Warracknabeal is a pleasant town, and worth 2 or 3 nights stay. It just shows what can be done with a bit of effort and the right attitude, both from council and management. Very friendly staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, drive-through sites. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade. Suitable for few days.

Drive in and someone will come along and collect your money after you are set up. Cost was $15. The amenities block was absolutely spotless with glass doors and rubber mats. The water was hot and plenty of it. The laundry has adequate facilities and the park is far enough off the road to avoid the road noises. The bbq are was clean and at no cost. The permanents who stay there were very friendly and helpful. Water tanks are available for drinking water. Phone reception was very good with Telstra.
Likes: The cost at only $15. Exceptionally clean and quiet park. You could walk into the town for a meal at the pub or to do some shopping.
Dislikes: Only thing we could find was that there is no sullage and water directly available to your site but they do have hoses that you can use to fill your tank on the way out.

This park is what you expect to find in these old small towns, i.e. very basic. Sites are on well looked after lawns which are level. No shade, and more importantly, no water to individual sites. Price is excellent at $15.00 2A powered site and amenities are great. Sites are large enough for 5th wheelers. Caretaker calls each evening to collect fees. Telstra phone signal is 5, and all TV channels are available. Good meals at nearby pub, and town is very friendly. Free UC BBQ.
Likes: Large sites and huge, clean showers.
Dislikes: No water to site

This is a very basic park with power to all sites but only water to odd sites. The amenities are accessed via a key that the park management, who are off site, supply when they come around. Amenities are clean with good hot water. Whilst it would be easy to knock the park as it's in a drought impacted area in a gravel paddock type environment, it provides a basic service for an overnighter at $15 powered or $10 if you don't require power. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with concrete annex slabs, very few sites are shaded. No rec room, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Peaceful, open & roomy park, no permanents. No playground, no bbqs, no pool. Suitable for overnighter.
