Anglesea Beachfront Family Caravan Park, Anglesea
Was known as Anglesea Family Holiday Park. 35 Cameron Road - 800mm SE of PO. Veer left off highway into Cameron Road, which is opposite start of shopping centre. Park is 350 metres on right. On the beach side of the Great Ocean Road, when approaching from Geelong the turn comes up quickly at the bottom of a small hill coming into the town. Ph: 03 5263 1583 or 1800 040 455. Top Tourist member. No pets allowed - limited dog friendly park in off season.

Stayed 3 nights, powered site $27.50 p/n with Top Tourist discount. Security entry. Friendly staff – we were given a map and told to pick a site in the pet area out the back. The map included lots and lots of rules, including "Individual washing machines and temporary clotheslines on sites are not permitted". It was too wet to dry clothes outside anyway so I used their dryer ($3.00 for 20 minutes), and washing machines were $4.00 per wash so I used my own. Pets welcome but only in the small pet area right at the back of the park. On first glance this looked like a dismal swampy area, but we arrived in strong wind and rain so that did not make the area look inviting anyway. There was minimum grass with lots of muddy areas, but we coped. A caravan arrived later in the afternoon and left immediately. We later met these people in Peterborough and the man said he felt panic when he saw this area, after driving through the beautiful park. So decided to leave and demanded a refund. I could understand how he felt. You are not allowed to walk the dog in the park itself (on tar road), but can walk them in the dog area and path to the river which at that time was very muddy. The park itself is large, very well maintained with seven amenities blocks (as per the map). I checked out a few of them and they were all very clean and in good condition. There are grassed areas and also bush areas under tea trees. Dump spot provided. There were many cabins throughout the park including vans with attached cabins, which looked as if they were permanent weekend sites or rental cabins. All sites were clean. The park is child friendly with a jumping pillow and playground and swimming pool, all very clean and well maintained. There are 7 undercover coin operated electric bbq's located throughout the park. It was too wet and windy to cook outside so we enjoyed two excellent meals at the golf club. We would return to this park but would prefer not to be in the dog area.
Date 04/2009. Park Rating 4: Dog area rating 1.0
Report submitted by Leszek and Jackie, Malua Bay, NSW.

Located in walking distance to the beach and river. Large well maintained park consisting of grassed and bush sites. Small separate section for van travelling with dogs. This section is at the back of the park in a bush setting close to the river and beach walks. A little off putting at first but it was a great spot. Dog not permitted to be walked in the main park area. Good amenities blocks and dumps. Well maintained camp kitchens. Large number of cabins and on-site van with a few permanents. Three pages of rules and regulations including one for dog owners was a bit off putting. Good swimming pool and children area. Good location for week or two.

Manager's name is Errol & Trish Morris. We went down with the tent and would definitely do it again. We had a powered bush camping site surrounded and overhung by ti-trees - very nice. We couldn't find the power at our site so went back to the office, she explained where it was then we discovered our extension lead wasn't long enough - no problem shifting sites (park was only about 15% occupied). Appeared to be heaps of permanent vans (not residents) would be astoundingly busy in peak times. Park also has cabins. Ice, wine and gas available from office as well as kiosk. Spa available, fee payable. Heaps of facilities for kids, new jumping bag and indoor toddlers playroom. Camp kitchen attached to TV room, looked like a brand new cooker, well equipped with washing facilities (cloths etc). Also had a cold storage facility. Wireless internet access plus computer rooms (fee payable). Stacks of tourist info in the office, imagine staff would be very knowledgeable. Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, good value for money ($32 2A per night powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, large sites. Good laundry, good rec room, late checkout allowed (past noon), good camp kitchen, kiosk, disabled facilities, dump point, secure entry. Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere, no permanents. Clean UC bbqelectric bbq ($1), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Excellent playground in good condition. Clean heated pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Closeness to beach and river - path to beach 5 mins from our site. Management very helpful and friendly. Very pleasant being lulled to sleep in our tent by the sound of the surf! Would definitely come back here again.
Dislikes: The BBQs could do with a sink adjacent and a rubbish bin - we had to pinch a scourer from the camp kitchen to clean the BBQ using bottled water and cart all our rubbish back to the site. Also had to spend $3 to cook our meal as the heat on the hotplate was very patchy.
Local Information: Everything you need in Anglesea, good fish and chips and IGA has everything you would need. This park on beach and river and walking distance to shops and pub. Watch the tides if you're walking to the ocean beach - in the afternoon beach is wide and you have to go out a way to get deep, at nighttime the beach was gone entirely! The lookout above the town has unfortunately been let go to seed but the view is still great.

Easy walk over small sand dune to Anglesea River and then to Ocean beach. Very "kid friendly" water area at river mouth. Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, very good value for money ($30 2A per night powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, late checkout allowed (up to noon), disabled facilities. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean UC electric bbq ($1), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Excellent playground in good condition. Clean pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Well maintained park and not too busy with people in when we there for 10 nights. We had 10 nights in November 2006 and nothing has changed. Very enjoyable holiday.
Parking: Areas to park car/van and also car.
Local Information: Great meals at local pub. Excellent pizza shop with liquor licence. Excellent IGA Supermarket with liquor department. Small butcher has great meat and fish.
Roads: Good bitumen.

Manager's name is Peter & Kathleen Bone. Very friendly staff, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was higher than expected, reasonable value for money ($39 2A per night powered). Amenities adequate in number to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, good night lighting, small sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point. Quiet but claustrophobic park, not enough shade, too many permanents. Clean UC gas bbq, area in congenial atmosphere. Excellent playground in good condition. Clean shaded heated pool with kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for few days, well maintained park.
Likes: Very good cleanliness in all areas - friendly helpful manager - fairly quiet location.
Dislikes: Very, very small tourist sites - no room for car on site - and limited access to site. Two cars had to be moved so we could get the van in.
Parking: Parking nigh on impossible next to van when site is full!
Local Information: Anglesea is a the quietest of the Great Ocean Road towns with very limited restaurants, but a good pub!

Apollo Bay Holiday Park, Apollo Bay
27 Cawood St, 1 km north of post office. 100 metres off the Great Ocean Road. Ph: 03 5237 7111. Top Tourist member. No pets.
Short walk to the shopping centre. Eight sites with concrete slab for van and annex but one has no suitable tow vehicle parking area. Seven grass van sites and several tent sites. Some sites have fairly tight entry and exit for medium size vans. All level with power, good water pressure and sullage. No dump point. No drive-through sites. Lots of cabins, some with limited parking space. A few permanent vans. A compact park. We chose this park because it offered a no-tree concrete site with wind protection (adjacent cabins) from forecast winter storms. However five van sites have shade trees. Grassed areas well grassed but poorly drained. One ablution block, very clean, adequate for number of sites, close to some sites, no facilities for disabled. Clean laundry (3 washers and 2 dryers) and clothes lines. Large baby (up to 5yr-olds) bath in laundry. 8 metre pool with no shade. Good new playground equipment but unfenced. No BBQ or recreation room at this time but foundations about to be poured for new building with "state of the art" rec room, TV room and camp kitchen. No pets. Price as expected, value for money ($30 per night before discount for 2A powered). Friendly and helpful managers.
Likes: Clean amenities. Walk to shopping centre, beach and harbour. No dogs.
Dislikes: A little too compact.
Parking: Suggest park in street and check offered site before booking-in.

Marengo Holiday Park, Apollo Bay
Great Ocean Road, 2km west of Apollo Bay. Along the Great Ocean Road, past Lorne. The park is situated right on Marengo Headland beach, just 3 minutes drive from Apollo Bay town.
Friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected ($150.00 2A per week powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to all sites, were dirty, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was inadequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, good camp kitchen, disabled facilities. Peaceful, open & roomy park, family/friendly atmosphere. Dogs on leash. No bbqs, no pool. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: Beachfront location and ocean views were terrific. A great place for a short or extended stay. Plenty of walks or day trips to Great Ocean Road attractions.
Dislikes: Our only criticism is that the amenities could have been cleaner. The same piece of soiled toilet paper was on ladies toilet floor for 7 days.

Pisces Holiday Park, Apollo Bay
311 Great Ocean Road, heading east it is before the town centre. Ph: 03 5237 6749. No pets allowed.
We had an ensuite site but we went for a walk and inspected the rest of the facilities. The sites were large and roomy. Some powered sites have a small walk to get to the facilities but they were worth it. Plenty of lush lawn area for campers Average staff friendliness, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, good value for money ($37 2A per night, ensuite, shoulder season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites. Good laundry, good rec room, late checkout allowed (up to noon), good camp kitchen, disabled facilities. Peaceful, open & roomy park, not enough shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Basic playground in good condition. Clean pool is open to the sun, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Good ocean view from anywhere in the park. Ensuites were new. The amenities were large and open.
Dislikes: Very narrow road for backing in the ensuite road. We had ants in the ensuite, just after it was supposed to be cleaned.
Parking: There was plenty of parking for vans when booking in
Roads: Only a few kilometres from town, plenty of facilities in Apollo Bay.

Manager's name is Fiona & Adrian Davidson. This park is set off the Great Ocean Road and has magnificent views of the coastline. We were offered one of their new ensuite sites, which are worth the few extra dollars, with concrete slab for van and annexe. I checked out the amenity block, it is huge and absolutely spotlessly clean. There is a solar heated swimming pool and the beach is across the road. Town centre is a 5-minute drive or a nice walk along the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful. This park is value for money we paid $33 per night for ensuite site. Visit the lookout above the park (ask staff for directions) it is a short drive and then a 10 minute walk up the hill, worth the effort! Very good management, friendly management, management was helpful.

Recreation Ground Caravan Park, Apollo Bay
Great Ocean Road, 1 km south of PO. Ph: 03 5237 6577. Council owned with resident managers Shane and Anne Lee. Very friendly reception, explained layout of park and allowed to choose any available site. Park is within the football oval and tennis courts reserve of the town, on the banks of the Barham River, five minutes stroll to beach, fifteen minutes to town shops. Pleasant location, large park with mostly permanents and weekenders. Tourist sites are at the back of the park in quiet location, well away from road. Roads in park sealed or good gravel. Dogs allowed under control. Sites are well grassed although some are quite small and roughly surfaced, no annexe pads, taps to most powered sites but no sullage. Reasonably good shade. Some sites are on river bank but are unpowered; also extensive camping areas. Two amenity blocks, one a little distance from tourist sites, the other centrally located, with laundry attached. Amenities a little stark but clean and well maintained. Toilet cubicles on the small size. Shower cubicles well divided, good hot water, no curtains, mats in some. Mop supplied but no soap or hand drying. Facilities include camp kitchen, barbecues ($1 coin), children's playground but all these are located a little way from tourist sites. No pool. Power posts have TV annexe plugs but we received better reception through our own antenna. ABC, SBS, Imparja and Prime all received well. Good mobile phone signal. Not well lit at night. $20 for 2A considered very good value, especially as other parks in town charge at least $25. Would stay again.
Date: 11/2006. Park Rating: 3. Suitable overnight or longer.

Barwon Heads Caravan Park, Barwon Heads
Ewing Blyth Drive.
UPDATED REPORT NEEDED

Stayed 7 days, $145 per week powered site. This is where “Seachange” was filmed. It is a large Council caravan park built around a large sports oval. Various types of accommodation is available, from beach houses (including Laura's), boat house, cabins, park tents and powered sites. Entry is through a boom gate for security, although I wonder what happens when the football season is on, and the boom gates are left open. A large grandstand was being built when we stayed. Reception was very helpful and showed us to our site. They wanted to give us a site with sea views, but our van (21ft internal) was too long for the site available. But we got a good level grassed site not far from the facilities and the BBQ. Grey water is used to water the trees. Facilities are old, basic, and need maintenance, but are clean. There are lots of permanents and weekenders, but all are reasonably maintained. Roads were dirt, so threw up some dust. Area around Barwon Heads very pretty and lots to explore. Diver Dan's restaurant still in existence, although extended and renovated, and we had an excellent meal there. And Laura's hut looks spruced up. The bridge is still under repair (as was in the series). Would stay here again for any length of time.

Bimbi Park, Cape Otway

Should be great but needs a lot of up dating and maintenance. Sites ok for camping but few are level for caravans. Average staff friendliness, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was higher than expected, poor value for money ($25 2A per night unpowered). Inadequate number of amenities, are close to only some sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is bad, there was inadequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, poor night lighting, average sized sites, hard to negotiate into site, poor water quality. Basic laundry, no rec room, kiosk. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Dirty UC electric bbq ($1), dismal bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Basic playground in poor condition. No pool. Suitable for few days.
Likes: Camp sites great well treed lovely country side
Dislikes: Amenities desperately needs renovating, very smelly, men's urinals overflowing, ran out of hot water every day. BBQ area never cleaned, smell from horse area often overwhelming
Added Touches: Allowed supplied campfires at a cost of $1.00 per piece of wood.
Local Information: Beautiful area, plenty to see and do, lovely walks and drives
Roads: road gravel but ok at time

The park is back to nature, it is more of your basic park but offers so much more. The owners are extremely friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Gum trees in the park are frequented by Koalas and Kookaburras. Have access to horse riding facilities, for that something different, through the national parks and along the secluded beaches. The beaches in this area are beautiful. Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($36.00 2A 2C) Inadequate number of amenities, are close to all sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, hot water was usually adequate but not when busy, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites. Good laundry, no rec room. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. No pets allowed. Basic playground in average condition. No pool.
Likes: The park is in a natural setting appropriate for the area. It has an outdoor theatre, with wooden plank seating but you can take your own seating. The kids loved it. The horse riding was good fun, enjoyed by the whole family.
Dislikes: The bathrooms need to be upgraded, the septic was blocking a lot. There was no taps or sullage at the individual sites.
Added Touches: The outdoor theatre shows movies twice a week, has a small kiosk. Great Fun.
Local Information: Horse riding was a treat. Visiting Maits Rest rainforest walk at night, if you go at night with torches and turn them off, you can see glow worms under the trees, so pretty and different to see. Went to see the lighthouse but on arrival found we had to pay $11.00 adults and $8.00 Children, thought this was expensive. Great 4wd tracks in the area, and access to secluded beaches.

Lake Colac Caravan Park, Colac
51 Fyans Street. Turn off the Princes Highway into Queen Street towards the Botanic Gardens. Ph: 03 5231 5971. Caravan Parks Victoria member. Dogs on leash.
Quiet park next to the Botanic Gardens which are great for a walk in. The park could be a good one but with the poor condition of the amenities I feel it is over priced. Very friendly staff, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was higher than expected, poor value for money ($35 2A per night powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were dirty, condition is poor. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, no rec room. Quiet, open & roomy park. No playground, no pool. Suitable for overnighter.
Likes: The park has all drive through powered sites with ensuite bathrooms.
Dislikes: The ensuite bathrooms are old, in bad condition and are not clean. Two ensuites share one small hot water system and there is a sign telling people to stagger showers so as not to run out of hot water. The shower cubicles in them are so small it is almost impossible to shower without the water flooding the floor. There is a shower curtain, which if kept closed, sucks against you and makes it impossible to shower.
Parking: Plenty of parking to book in.
Local Information: There is a good playground in gardens outside the park. The park is on Lake Colac but due to drought in the area at the time of our visit, the water was so low it was not reachable.

Costa Verde Holiday Village, Geelong
Located 10 km south of Geelong on road to Torquay, approx 500 metres on Torquay side of Geelong airfield. Ph: 03 5264 1243. Dogs on leash.
UPDATED REPORT NEEDED

Average staff friendliness. Price was lower than expected, very good value for money ($23 2A per night powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, cleanliness was average, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, large sites, concrete annex slabs, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, secure entry. Quiet, open & roomy park, but too many permanents. Clean pool is open to sun, tables and chairs provided. TV reception OK on all channels except ABC. Higher antenna would have received all channels.
Likes: All sites are ensuite and for $23 a night in a large area this was very good value. If staying 7 days only pay for 6 days. Location is close to Geelong and there is a divided road from park to Torquay. Close to start of Great Ocean Road, Queenscliff, Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove etc. Good shopping centres approx 4 kms from park.
Dislikes: $1 per night for dog (not sure what I received for this $1). We were the only tourist van in the park for the 9 days we were there. Lots of permanents but they were well behaved and quiet of a night. Laundry and park surrounds were ok. Gravel roads through park.
Parking: Plenty of parking off Torquay road while waiting to book in.
Park Rating 2.5: Suitable for a week or more.

Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, average sized sites, very few concrete annex slabs, very few sites are shaded. Good laundry, basic rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, secure entry. Noisy, not enough shade, too many permanents. UC bbq, dismal bbq area atmosphere, seating provided at bbq. Basic playground in average condition. Clean pool is open to the sun. Suitable for overnighter.
Likes: We liked that the park was close to home and the jumping pillow was fun. There were 2 ensuite bathrooms for people camping on powered sites with a shower and toilet.
Dislikes: The park is on an extremely busy road and this is compounded by the Geelong bypass. If you are in a cabin in may not be too bad but being in a tent it was incredibly noisy during the day and night. So noisy we choose to only stay 1 night rather than the 2 we had booked and paid for. The park was mostly permanent cabins and there were very few tourists. There was only 1 other set of campers in the area with us. We were on the powered sites, however there was no grass - it was just burr weeds which our dog was coated in. While there were a few trees around the outside of the park there was very little shade around the camp sites.

Likes: An easy drive into Geelong CBD and will be handy to Geelong Bypass when it is completed.

Geelong Surfcoast Highway Holiday Park, Geelong
Surfcoast Highway, coming from Geelong, you can turn right into the park, hard to find at night as the road is not well lit, but there is signs to watch out for. Ph: 03 5032 1494. Family Parks member. Dogs on leash.
Most sites here are ensuite. This is one of the few pet friendly parks in Geelong. I rang up and was able to leave my dogs unattended if I wanted to, as they do not bark. Friendly staff. Price was as expected, very good value for money ($20.80 A1 powered ensuite site). Amenity cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Mostly level sites, good night lighting, small sites, concrete annex slabs, drive-through sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, too many permanents. Suitable for few days, well maintained park.
Likes: It was one of the only parks in Geelong that takes dogs, it was ensuite also.
Dislikes: Some ensuite sites even though they are drive through they are still hard to get out of or into. Quite a few permanents.
Parking: Off road parking.
Local Information: The Esplanade (East) is a great walk along, very nice, could of spent a lot of time there. Wool Museum at Information Centre, Geelong Goal. Only downside is everything is metered parking, and quite expensive so didn't spend much time in city centre as many of the town in Victoria charge for parking and visiting and spending money so was adding up to be quite expensive for a 5 week holiday.
Roads: Good roads from Hamilton, wide roads, took a few wrong turns, but easily signposted even though I missed them, wasn't paying enough attention. Lovely country pubs on the way there, nice drive.

Manager's name is Robert & Mary Stanton. On entry to the caravan park reception I found the manager very friendly and easy to talk to. Very friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($32 2A per night, ensuite, off-peak season). Amenities were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen. Quiet, open & roomy park, not enough shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean bbq (free). Good playground in average condition. No pool. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Friendly staff, clean ensuite, camp kitchen, plenty of BBQ area's
Dislikes: T.V reception (no Ch10) (yes I know this is getting picky), just a little road noise but not enough to not return.
Parking: Enough room for Land Cruiser and 18 Ft van

Appears to be a combination of two parks - Southside and Riverglen, so watch out for either sign. Friendly reception, layout explained, told to choose any site. Tourist sites mainly at one end of park with own amenity block, rest of park permanents. Roads gravel, no guttering. En suite sites with pads, powered sites with pads and some drive through sites with no pads. Latter are grassed but rather rough and worn and fairly narrow, making annexe or awning difficult. Water and sullage to sites, reasonably good shade. Amenities very good, clean and well maintained. Showers excellent, with curtains separating dressing area and shower heads pointing away from curtain. Good hot water. Hand dryers, mop supplied but no soap. Camp kitchen, BBQ (free), children's playground, no pool. Good mobile phone reception but we found TV reception surprisingly very poor for Victoria's second largest city; possibly need very tall antenna. Not well lit at night. Some minor road noise early in morning but generally very quiet. Reasonable value at $24 for 2A before FPA discount.
Likes: Handy location; CBD 10 minutes drive, Coles/Kmart shopping mall five minutes drive. Very good amenities.

Very friendly management. We had an ensuite site which was quite modern and very clean, although it was on the small side, so we cannot comment on the amenities. A nice touch was the "heated lights" in the ensuite. Sites were small-to-average with grass covering and good drainage. Two playgrounds, one in good condition, the other average. Cannot get ABC channel at all. Two camp kitchens with TV's. Friendly staff. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($35 2A 2C per night). Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, small sites. Good laundry, basic rec room. Quiet, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Good playground in average condition. A well maintained park

Otways Tourist Park, Gellibrand
In the middle of Gellibrand, on the Colac - Lavers Hill Road, approximately 25kms south of Colac. Just past the Gellibrand general store on the right. Ph: 03 5235 8357. Pets at manager's discretion.
Manager's name is Dorthe & Corrie Korn. We have stayed at this park a couple of times and we love the family atmosphere and the peacefulness [even at peak times]. Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, good value for money ($46 2A 2C per night powered, peak period). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to all sites, cleanliness was average, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, extra charge for shower, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, large sites, concrete annex slabs to some sites, shade to most sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, basic rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, dump point, van parking. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere, no permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. Clean pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: The atmosphere, the size of our site was very large and lovely and grassy. The kids are happy and safe to go to the playground and play without wanting us to come, lots kids riding bikes around and generally having fun. The Gellibrand pub is within walking distance and is a great place for a meal. The camp kitchen is great, with a huge gas bbq and kitchen area including a microwave, fridge, cooker and plenty of tables and chairs.
Dislikes: The amenities block is small especially at peak times and got grotty after peak use, though, cleaned every day. There is a charge for showers, however, when we were there it was for a 10min shower [this was going to be reduced I believe] and the charge was explained as a way to save water as they are an eco park.
Parking: There is a parking area outside the office area.
Added Touches: The park allows fires in fire tubs and you are able to buy wood from the manager if you have not brought your own. We were there over the Xmas/new year period and there were some activities for the kids such as kite making.
Local Information: The park is a great place for touring the Otways region, including local wineries, the Otway Fly, the Great Ocean Road, there is fishing in the river, and some great trail rides for those who are into bike riding.

Manager's name is Dorthe & Corrie. This is a nice park but I object to paying $1.00 per shower when the park fees are $25.00 per night off peak. No toilet paper in one cubicle. Friendly staff, average staff response to complaints. Price was much higher than expected, poor value for money ($25.00 2A per night powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to all sites, cleanliness was average, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, extra charge for shower, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Pinewood Caravan Park, Heywood
Ph: 03 5527 1370. About 1 km north of post office. A little gem of a park with nice green lawns & plenty of shade in the tourist area. Good sized level lawn sites with power, water & sullage. Only a small park with some permanents but these were friendly and unobtrusive. Management was friendly and the price reasonable ($20 powered site for 2 people). There was no kiosk but in this little town nothing was far away. It was nice to stay in a park seemingly unaffected by drought - you could even wash your car! If you have a reason to be in the area this park is worth a visit Average amenities, adequate number to cater for tourists, close to sites, were clean, were in good condition, water pressure was okay, there was adequate hot water. Very good sites, adequate number of tourist sites, sites were level, lighting at night was adequate, the site size was okay, drive-through sites were available, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Kennett River Caravan Park, Kennett River
This park is situated in the small town of Kennett River on the Great Ocean Road midway between Lorne and Apollo Bay. Ph: 03 5289 0272 or 1300 664 417. Top Tourist member. No dogs.
What a wonderful park! Koalas, kangaroos, kookaburras and a variety of other birdlife abound in this well grassed, peaceful and pretty park at the foot of the Otways with only the Great Ocean Road between the park and the beach. Lots of shade. Clean and well appointed amenities. No permanents but some permanent vans. The roads are not sealed and do get muddy when it rains. Sites are grassed, flat and of good size. Water to the park comes from the Kennett River and may not agree with everyone but we had no problems. There is a small, well stocked shop and cafe just over the road where you can get a cappuccino and cake and watch the owner feed the kookaburras. While next to the main road the only noise at night is from the surf. Very good management, friendly management, management responsive to comments, management was helpful. Very good value for money. Good amenities, adequate number to cater for tourists. Good sites, adequate number of tourist sites, sites were level, the site size was okay, adequate taps close by. No sullage and the taps only take the large fittings. Laundry, free wireless internet Very good park atmosphere, quiet, open and roomy park, shady park, family-friendly park. I imagine this park would be packed during holidays but it is most peaceful in the off season (the joy of being retired). Clean UC bbq. Suitable for a week or more.
Likes: The wildlife and the free wireless internet.
Dislikes: Muddy roads after rain.
Parking: It is a tight U-turn when entering the park from Apollo Bay.

Another of those gems one finds in the smaller towns. Handy position to take advantage of attractions in both Warrnambool and Port Fairy. Staff welcoming and helpful, good staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was lower than expected, great value for money ($16.50 2A per night powered). Amenities old and in need of upgrade. Only criticism is that managers let the cleanliness of amenities go over weekend. Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to all sites, cleanliness was average, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, large sites. Peaceful, open & roomy park. Park grounds kept clean. Would definitely stay again. As far as facilities go, this park is basic in that sites are non-powered, there is no recreation room and a small playground facility. However the bonus of big sites, magnificent views, friendly staff and a great oval for the kids, outweighs this. This park is so popular that you need to book by March to get in at peak periods such as Christmas. Very friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, good value for money ($238 2A C3 per week unpowered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, extra charge for shower, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, large sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere, no permanents. UC bbq, area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. No pool. Suitable for a week or more. Suitable for families, well maintained park.
Likes: The view in this park is worth a visit in itself. The park is encased by large mountains at every side. A well-shaded river is located at the edge of the park and the beach is located in easy walking distance.
Parking: Wasn't necessary as site was available as soon as we arrived.
Added Touches: Fire bins were available free of charge. (Additional charges for wood) This facility was very popular for toasting marshmallows at night. The size of sites was a great bonus. We were able to fit a fairly large caravan, annexe, car and porta shade on site with extra room left over!!!
Local Information: Lorne is a beautiful town with lots of activities and attractions. Of great interest was the free coastal education, which included activities such as rock pool rambles and fishing lessons for the kids.
Roads: The Great Ocean Road is quite windy however our caravan handled it with not much problem.

On arrival you are given a map of park and your site is circled on that. Small office, staff not friendly very business like, no smiles or warm welcomes, however the park is so nice you get over it quick! First thing you notice is the large clean pool but beware of wooden picnic tables if you sit on seat at edge they topple. Games room is well stocked with electronic pay games, air hockey table and pool table, table tennis - you have to buy ball. There is also a large indoor spa for hire $10 for half an hour, clean and private. Shower toilet not totally clean right across corridor. Coke machine outside rec room. Kids playground is of wooden variety, small. A basketball hoop outside rec room, provide your own ball and have plenty of gold coins as they shut office regularly and hard to get change! Tennis court for hire 1hr for $10 I think they where clean and well kept, take your own racquets and balls. BBQ area near tennis court. We have a caravan and do stay in it most of the time but we choose to stay in a cabin a couple of times. Cabins varies we choose a family one first time we stayed good value at $119.00 a night for 2A, 2C. Next stay we took cabin offer of $199.00 for 3 nights and got small ant ridden cabin, not happy as our friends paid $60.00 upgrade and got a really big cabin with washing machine and balcony! I did not complain to manager as I would have to move all our gear. Caravan sites are level road sealed and tidy. We mainly have to drive to beach and town you could walk 10 mins or so. The Barwon River is a short walk down road on opposite side 5-10 mins. Barwon Heads 5-10 mins up road. We would be happy to stay on for a week or more.

This is a good park for families, the grounds people are bossy and you notice them around a lot. It's a well kept park, however they only have 3 cabins. My friend had a cabin $85 a night for families good value she had to give it a wipe over with disinfectant. 3 center bunks double bed in own room heating cooling fridge all seemed neat she was happy with it for the price. Her fuse blew late at night, the night manager responded in good time and was friendly enough. Average staff friendliness, average staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, very good value for money ($28 2A 2C per night powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, hot water was usually adequate but not when busy, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, basic rec room, kiosk, secure entry. Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean gas bbq (pay). Good playground in good condition. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: The sites where right on the river, near walking tracks, and bbqs. The toilet block was close enough and the beach was on the other side of the busy road.
Dislikes: I did not like the way the grounds staff drove around and telling us off for parking across from our site at the bbq area there is plenty of room there and no one else was booked in around us yet the guy tells us to move the car as kids might play there. As there where no other kids around we put the car there so our kids could play swing ball with a bit more room. It spoilt the fun really. Then they continue to drive around glancing at us every half hour, made us feel very uncomfortable. Also these guys told the kids to put helmets on in the park which they were on scooters out the front of our site, very annoying.
Parking: No. Someone was blocking boom gates while trying to contact night staff as there really isn't any long parks for in-coming vans. This would be a nightmare at peak times.
Local Information: This park is half way between Barwon Heads and Ocean Grove, yet close enough to walk to either. At Ocean Grove there is a jetty which my boy fished off caught a small crab and a fish. The Barwon Heads pub is across the small road from this and has reasonable meals and entertainment. The local fish-n-chip shop at the top of the hill road is delicious, the one on the main street is ok. The local RSL have yummy meals and the Coles in the centre of town has everything you need.
Roads: The roads where all sealed and in good condition.

Sarah at reception was very helpful and handed me a coaxial cable for better TV reception. Unfortunately this did not work for us so I returned it. Entry into the park looked inviting and the whole area was spotless. Our Site No. 62 was a long level grassed site opposite the amenities block. The amenities block had 9 toilets and 9 showers, all in pristine condition. Paper towels, dryers and good ventilation. The camp kitchen was large and spotless (a kitchen any lady would be proud to have at home) with a TV room adjacent and also an open covered area with a fireplace which was lit when we were there as it was cold. The laundry had four machines and four dryers, again all in spotless condition. No dump point. The park has cabins and a few weekenders all very well maintained. Good playground but no swimming pool. Good night lighting. This park is a great base to visit the Twelve Apostles, London Bridge, the Grotto, etc, and the surrounding tourist areas. We found this an excellent spotless park and would be very happy to stay again.

Peterborough Coastal Caravan Park, Peterborough
Ph: 03 5598 5394. Park is well sign posted throughout the town. Situated on the Great Ocean Road, Peterborough. Very run down caravan park. The park is up for sale and needs a lot of work done to it. A general clean up and a coat of paint would make a big difference. Once you look past the front, it looks a bit better. The sites were all ensuites that were in a reasonable condition and had plenty of hot water. We paid $21 for 2A 2C which was actually very good value for money. There was another couple there who had paid only $15 as they were "seniors" and they thought that was great value. There were gale force winds and driving rain all night, so the "luxury" of this ensuite was great. The site was actually quite dry compared to the rest of the area, but the roads into the park were dirt and were full of potholes filled with water. We have stayed in worse places than this for a lot more money. Would stay here again, but definitely only a one night stay.

Run by National Parks. Polite reception, directed to any site we chose as it was not a busy time. Roads mainly gravel, some guttered. Sites generally small, well grassed, no annexe pads, not all have taps, few had sullage. Size was no problem as we were able to occupy two sites with 23 ft van. Some sites have windbreaks between then, but in any case park was reasonably protected from the strong winds by its location. Two minute stroll to shops and beach. Two amenity blocks, one closed in off peak season, some sites long way from the other. Amenities old but refurbished and very clean and neat. Good hot water, shower cubicles well designed with protected changing area, mop supplied, hand dryers but no soap. Toilet dump point at amenities. Camp kitchen, BBQ and TV room, no pool. Poorly lit at night. $25 for 2A reasonable value. Would stay again.

Average size sites, that do not have a tap to every site. One tap per four sites. Dirt roads that were very muddy and full of potholes filled with water. Amenities were a fair distance from most sites. Decided not to stay here after inspecting the site. You would have got very muddy walking along the dirt road, dodging puddles to reach the amenities. They refunded our money no questions asked. We also felt that $36 for 2A 2C was very expensive for what you got.

This is a lovely caravan park, with a huge number of trees which gives the feeling of being in a large garden. Sites are bordered by bushes, shrubs which give privacy but do cut down a little on the space on some sites. Sites a little difficult to reverse van on to and would be very difficult when park full. Sites wide enough for van and awning/annexe with car between van and the road. Park is very welcoming to dogs. Park has a good playground, tennis court, jumping pillow. Quite a lot of very nice looking cabins in the park. Some sites face open grassed areas and these would be easy to reverse onto. Friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($27 2A per night, powered, shoulder season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, average sized sites, no sites with concrete annex slabs, shade to most sites, drive-through sites, hard to negotiate into site, poor water quality, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, no rec room, late checkout allowed (up to noon), good camp kitchen. Peaceful, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere, no permanents. Clean UC electric bbq ($1), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Each site bordered by shrubs/trees so very private. Because of the large number of trees / shrubs there are a lovely lot of birds. Dogs are welcome here - has 5 paws rating.
Dislikes: Do not like having to use tokens for the washing machines (also dryers and bbqs). Size of sites make it a bit difficult to reverse on to the sites - would be worse when the park is full. The mosquitoes - but that is hardly the fault of the caravan park
Parking: Did not seem to be any designated area
Added Touches: DVD hire from office
Local Information: A walk along the river around the marina is a must. There are some wonderful houses in this town so a drive around the streets is worthwhile. We had a good meal at the Victoria Hotel.

Good management. Reasonable value for money. Laundry, good camp kitchen. Good atmosphere to park. UC bbq. Suitable for a week or more, the park was well maintained.
Likes: Good shade; good borders between sites with shrubs/trees; nice grassy sites.
Dislikes: I thought there was not enough night lighting - it was quite dark walking to the amenities block. Most sites are too small. Enough room for van & annexe but only just fit your car. Most cars are parked right next to the road. Would be difficult to back your van in when park reasonably full as road areas are too narrow. Amenities are OK however water temp goes from hot to cold many times. My wife complained her showers were only just warm.

This is an enormous park with over 400 sites. It is spread around the sports ground. When we visited in May most of it was closed off. The section that was open was beautifully grassed and we could pick our site. The place would be pretty frantic in January but we found it to be an ideal place to base ourselves while visiting this interesting, attractive town and surrounds. There is a small but well stocked shop over the road and it is a 100m walk to the beach. Good, friendly management Good value for money. There were 2 amenities blocks at each end. The one we used (near the river) was new, clean and very modern. Inexplicably there was no soap available in these, otherwise, excellent facilities. Good amenities, adequate number to cater for tourists, close to sites, were clean, were in good condition, water pressure was okay, there was adequate hot water. Good sites, adequate number of tourist sites, sites were level, the site size was okay, drive-through sites were available. There is a great little campers kitchen with 2 clean BBQs inside. Open and roomy park, shady park, family-friendly park. Clean UC bbq (free), with a congenial atmosphere, lit at night, with seating provided. Suitable for a week or more.
Likes: Clean, friendly and open park. Could pick a site at the time of our visit.
Dislikes: No soap in the amenities.

We found the park in good condition, albeit not at the height of the tourist season. Friendly reception from manager Ken, roads sealed and guttered, sites generally level and well grassed, although no annexe pads, reasonable shade on many. Water to most but not sullage. Two amenities blocks in off-season area of park, adequate for numbers at the time. Good hot water, showers well designed with completely separate changing area in each cubicle to avoid wet floors, no curtains but mop supplied. Hand dryers but no soap. Quiet, some parts poorly lit at night. Good mobile phone reception, but we found terrible TV reception for some reason. Very neat and well maintained park, with friendly reception. Most sites very well grassed and backed by hedges of shrubs, giving some privacy, water and sullage to most, no annexe pads. Roads sealed and kerbed, sites roomy but some lacking in depth for long vans. Two amenity blocks, separate laundry, separate small toilet block. Both amenities very clean and well maintained, should be adequate except for high peak. However no soap (both), hand drying or mops (one) supplied. Good hot water pressure. In the amenities block near us the men's showers were badly designed: no curtain or divider, the shower head in the side wall half way along cubicle, and no bench, with the result that no dry area was available for dressing. Children's playground, picnic shelter with free BBQ, no pool. Kiosk on site, main street shops ten minutes walk away. Excellent TV and mobile phone reception. $25.00 per night powered site. We stayed here 4 years ago and vowed we would return. This time we stayed 3 nights and were very happy that the cleanliness and tidiness of the park was the same. New managers, Geraldine and Brian, were very friendly and helpful. Amenities were all spotless and well maintained, with the ladies area provided with soap, paper towels/dryer, together with tissues and hair dryer. A very nice touch. The only differences we found since our previous stay was that the camp kitchen had been extended and even though it was excellent before, it is larger now with more tables and chairs under cover. Also the owner of the park had purchased an adjoining block of land and this has been grassed and some trees planted. A small concrete pad with table and portable bbq has been installed in the corner of the new area. This larger area makes it much easier to park onto the level concrete slabs. No permanents but there are very well maintained cabins for rental. This park is within walking distance of the main street and the IGA. On our last visit, there were koalas in the gum trees above us, but unfortunately this time there were none. This park is small and was totally booked out the whole three days we were there. Most caravanners we spoke to had stayed here before and said they always had to book to get a place. Highly recommended for any length of time and still one of our favourites.

Drove the extra 12 kilometres to get there in pouring rain and gale force winds and when we arrived, we were told that the sites were very wet and can't be used. Why didn't they tell us that 10 minutes earlier on the phone? We were not impressed.

On the beach 5 km east of Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road. Ph: 03 5237 6132. Dogs allowed on leash. Park is located on Great Ocean Road on ocean side, opposite T intersection from Colac (about 70Ks).
Stayed 3 nights, powered site $25.00 per night. Were going to stay 2 nights but when I telephoned to book, Charlie offered 3 nights for the price of 2. He said that he would be out when we arrived so pick a site and he would catch up with us. On entering the park we found it very basic and casual. We picked our site and parked and Charlie caught up with us later. He was a friendly and helpful man. Unfortunately the sites were not clearly defined and we had partially parked on another site. But the park was practically empty so this was not a problem. Basic amenities which were old but clean, reasonably close to most sites, and the park was dog friendly. There is an office that doubles as a basic kiosk and a recreation room with TV and pool table. A camp kitchen is located in the laundry and it was clean. The only night lighting was from a high beam light high above the office area, providing minimal lighting to the furtherest park areas.. Our TV reception was not great but ok. Sites were grassed with some bare spots with no sullage. Some areas were fenced off to rejuvenate the grass. There was minimal shade and no shade to sites near our area. Shade was not required at this time of the year. Many sites towards the end of the park lacked taps. Dump point near entrance. This park is very quiet, next to the beach so the only noise in the night is the waves. This park is very basic and with some maintenance and beautification work could be a very inviting park in a beautiful spot right on the beach. We would stay here again.

Manager's name is Rob & Ulla Killury. This park has to be the find of the year. The park is advertised in the RACV Tourist Accommodation Guide but you won't find the road on your GPS. The old park was bulldozed 4 years ago and it has been completely rebuilt. With the facilities that this park provides it makes an ideal spot for families with young children. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Although there is no kiddies pool the pool area is child proof and has a lovely separate spa. Suitable for month or longer, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Nicely grassed sites, their fees are not governed by high or low season, it is one fee all year round.
Dislikes: Not enough trees yet, they are still growing. There is no internet access yet. The dump point is only a hole in the ground this needs to be improved. No soap in the amenities.
Parking: Outside reception.
Added Touches: Free mini golf, a fully equipped gymnasium which costs $6, free table tennis, fishing at nearby Hopkins River, very affordable boat rental, tennis courts available for hire - free during the day and $10 at night.

Stayed 4 nights, powered site $25.20 per night with Family Parks membership. Entry is through security boom gate. Reception was very friendly and helpful. About one third of the park was open as this was off-peak season. We were given a map and told to find a site. There were both grassed and concrete slab sites so we chose Site No. 8, a level concrete slab just down the ramp from the new amenities block and very big and excellent camp kitchen. A large number of showers and toilets in this block, all very clean. The showers had separate drying areas but unfortunately the floor is level and water from the adjoining shower comes into your area. Large adjoining laundry area which was very clean. This was the only amenities block open at the time of our stay. This is a very big park with amenities blocks placed throughout the park with various distances to some sites. Cabins located at one side of the park. Dump point near entrance. Park located near the beach. We only had two gripes with this park, one being that on our first morning, cleaning the amenities block was carried out at 9.00am, when people were lining up to use the facilities. There must have been some complaints because the next day amenities were cleaned at 11.00am, a better hour. The other gripe was that the amenities are hosed when cleaned, which left toilets, sinks, showers and floor dripping wet for ages due to the cold weather. We found this a pleasant quiet park and would recommend it as it is close to town and there is lots to see in Warrnambool. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and show, plus tour, at Flagstaff Hill.

Staff friendly upon arrival. All the cabins are at the back of the site which is on a hill and to get down to the van sites you have a very tight squeeze to get your van around the corners. We had an ensuite site which was ok basic, full of dead moths, but there was a good walk away from some of the sites located down the bottom of the park if you needed the toilet or showers. Our site was right down on the road facing the traffic. It was that close that you could read the state of the number plates. There is nothing that separates you from the road only a small wire fence. They need a sound barrier. It was terrible as it's on the main Melbourne-Warrnambool road. Take your ear plugs. The park in general ok. Would never stay again. Looks great in photos needs doing up, pool freezing, games room not much. Just a big sand pit with swings and old wooden house for kids. Would not recommend to stay overnight and ask for site away from main road and near toilets. Plenty of cabins at this site and that's all there should be. How they got rated from Top Tourist with the majority of van sites near and facing main road amazes me. Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($60 2A 2C per night, ensuite). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to only some sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, some unlevel sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, no sites with concrete annex slabs, shade to most sites, drive-through sites. Good laundry, basic rec room. Noisy, claustrophobic park. Clean gas bbq, seating provided at bbq. Basic playground in average condition. Clean pool is open to the sun, kid-safe pool area. Suitable for overnighter.
Dislikes: on the main road and no major barrier between you and the road. To noisy.

Probably one of the prettiest sites we have stayed at - beautiful setting in a valley opposite the beach Some enormous sites with plenty of grass all around, but beware many powered sites do not have individual water and none have sullage. However park will provide long hoses to fill up tanks if needed. Shower and toilet facilities hopelessly inadequate during peak periods but good condition non the less. Average but friendly management. Reasonable value for money. Good amenities, average sites, adequate number of tourist sites, sites were level, the site size was okay, poor water quality. Good atmosphere to park, family-friendly park. clean UC free gas bbq with a congenial atmosphere, lit at night, with seating provided. Excellent playground, in good condition. The park was well maintained, and can be considered kid-safe.
Likes: Beautiful setting, large sites, grass, security entry.
Dislikes: No water on most of powered sites, no sullage.
Added Touches: Excellent entertainment for kids over Easter - plus many other activities make this a perfect site with the limitations of the water for families, although the very close proximity of the local Pub is a big advantage!
Park Rating 4: Suitable for overnighter or a few days.
