Absolutely stunning location, right on the beach. Very quiet and tranquil, nice to have camp-fires. Amenities are fairly basic,
but clean. Albino wallabies across the road, some nice walks in the National Park minutes away. If you are there during summer
holidays, make sure you go on the National Park walks and talks, we found them terrific. Average management, friendly management,
management was helpful. Good value for money. Average amenities, adequate number to cater for tourists, were clean,
water pressure was okay, there was adequate hot water. Average sites, adequate number of tourist sites, sites were level,
the site size was okay. Laundry. Good atmosphere to park, quiet, open and roomy park, shady park, family-friendly park.
Likes: Tranquillity, location, beauty of the area.
Dislikes: Strict 11pm curfew, i.e. you must be in bed by this time. Friends of mine were talking quietly around the
camp-fire and were basically told to go to bed. Evictions seemed common for disputing these arrangements.
Park Rating 3.5: Suitable for a week or more

Drop toilets, undercover area with tables and fireplace. No designated camping
spots, just find one someone else has used. Open fires allowed, but no firewood. Easy access for caravans.
Peaceful, surrounded by trees and birds, 50-100 m walk to beach.
Local Information: The penguin rookery is about 3 kms north (you pass it in the middle of The Neck). Free access along well-made board
walk. Get there about 1/2 hour after sunset to see the penguins.
Roads: Mostly bitumen from the ferry, but the gravel roads are very suitable for vans.

There is another free camping area further along from here, but access is literally via the beach.
Drop toilet. No designated camping spots, in a small area surrounded by pine trees, well out of the wind.
Open fires allowed, but no firewood. Easy access for caravans. Peaceful, surrounded by trees and birds, 300 m walk to beach. We had the
place to ourselves for 2 days and just used it as a base to explore the rest of the island.
Local Information: The walk to Mt Managna was marred by previous morons cutting down branches and laying them across the track, but the
effort was worth it for the views at the top of the southern part of Tasmania. Moderate effort needed.
Roads: The road from Adventure Bay is not suitable for vans, so just take the normal road thru Allonah and Lunawanna which is
bitumen and good gravel.

This is a very nice park in a beautiful little coastal town, lush grass on most sites and very well maintained. There are a few
weekender/onsite vans here and they are all neat and tidy. This is a very good springboard for the area from Huonville to Cockle
Creek. There is a very friendly bowls club here which is affiliated with the RSL club. A creek borders the park so children need
some supervision. Would definitely use again.
Friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities.
Price was higher than expected, reasonable value for money ($27.50 for 2A powered site) - a bit pricey but we were offered 10%
disc for our 2 week stay.
Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water
pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided.
Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting. Some sites are small, some average and some huge but
all are level and there are drive through sites.
Good laundry, dump point, camp kitchen provided but fairly rustic.
Peaceful, open & roomy park, family/friendly atmosphere.
Clean UC bbq (pay), congenial bbq area atmosphere.
No playground, no pool.
Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: The setting is great, over the road from a really good beach with a tall wooded hill behind and a peaceful creek beside.
Dislikes: I drew a small site but it was still big enough to have the awning extended and park the car onsite.
Parking: Pull in far enough to clear entrance and keep left.
Roads: Roads good but some bendy bits. Coast road is now all bitumen but main road better for caravans.

Quiet location near waterfront, backing onto rural land. Bonus: Showers had mats provided. Very friendly staff, average
staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was higher than
expected, poor value for money ($25 2A per night powered). Inadequate number of amenities, are close to most sites, were clean,
condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level
sites, small sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry. Peaceful a
well maintained park.
Likes: Level lush grassed site, quiet setting. Friendly and helpful proprietors with good local knowledge. They are making
improvements to the park.
Dislikes: Inadequate showers & toilets. No drive through sites offered to us.
Local Information: Nice walk along foreshore.

The advertised camping area is now closed, however we did find a fantastic picnic area in town.
There were no less than 12 picnic tables, 2 free electric bbqs, a good playground, water, and toilets. Gold coin donation in box.
The area is provided by the Judbury Progress Association and there is a box for donations, which we made, and we left a note
of congratulations on such a great area "in the middle of nowhere". There was a sign in a sheltered picnic area that said
"no camping in bbq area", but we stayed on the advice of a local that said it was okay as long as we didn't stay "for days"
and the sign was to stop people sleeping in the sheltered area.
Local Information: To the west is a lovely forest drive that takes you thru some steep hills, magnificent lookouts,
and tree-felling areas.
Roads: Good. The forest drive road is very good, dirt road, but leave the van behind.

Manager's name is Derek & Sally Collins.
Adjacent to river, near bowls club. Well signed on approach to town.
A very busy park but well maintained. Would be a good choice if travelling with dogs, as it seems to be about the closest to
Hobart that allows dogs. Please note charges were for unpowered site as all powered sites were full.
Also note, we were in an "overflow" area and cannot comment on some of the features of the main park area such as playgrounds, BBQs etc.
Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities.
Price was as expected, good value for money ($15.00 2A per night unpowered).
Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water
pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, extra charge for shower.
Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, adequate taps close by.
Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere.

This is a campground but may be an alterative to caravan parks for those who want to see Port Arthur.
Unpowered sites only. Pit toilets, one gas heated hot shower was on trial while we were there so not sure about that now,
was paid for by donation. Boat launching facilities, right on coast, boil water to drink. Camp fires allowed, firewood
available to buy from parks office/kiosk. $11 per night 2A 3C, good value for money. Some great walks from the campground.
Very picturesque location. Close to Port Arthur, poor road in as there are logging trucks.

Considering we had booked 3 months in advance for a powered site, we were
disappointed with the position of our site - stuck on a corner squeezed between 2 other campers. Being peak
Christmas/New Year season, we had booked 3 nights at this park but left after 2. The unfriendly office staff
told us that without a doubt, we would receive no refund unless they were able to re-book our site. We got the distinct
impression we would never know if this happened. The amenities block, whilst reasonably new (with free showers) were
very badly designed with everything getting wet in the change room cubicle. The floor was extremely slippery and rubber
mats would not go astray. Although pets were only allowed at Manager's discretion, 3 sites up from us were 2 barking
dogs for the entire first night. Would not bother staying there again. Poor management. Reasonable value for money.
Average amenities. Average sites.

This is a fairly new or refurbished small independent park, which is part of a complex, consisting of a hotel, a general store and the caravan park.
You check in at the store. It is not listed in most of the Tasmanian tourist information, which is a shame, because it is a real find, in an
area with few caravan parks. It is located in a pretty setting, well grassed and with huge trees. The management was friendly, the pub serves
good budget meals, and you are walking distance to the lovely Southport Bay beach. If staying at Southport, don't miss a trip on the nearby Ida Bay railway.
Good value for money, it cost us $16.50 for an unpowered site for 2 people.
The amenities block is modern and clean, with $1 coin-in-slot showers, for which you get about seven minutes of hot water. Adequate number
of amenities to cater for tourists, close to sites, were in good condition, water pressure was okay, there was adequate hot water.
Good sites. There were powered and unpowered sites available. Powered sites (some were drive-through) had gravel bases, and you can have a
campfire at your site also (BYO wood).
Laundry, kiosk, van parking by management.
Very good park atmosphere, quiet, open and roomy park, shady park.
Clean UC wood bbq (free), with seating provided.
Suitable for a few days, the park was well maintained.
