Ceduna Airport Caravan Park, Ceduna
The park is located next to Ceduna's Airport, located on Highway 1 about 2 kilometres east of Ceduna's town centre. Ph: 08 8625 2416. OzParks member. All pets allowed.
Manager's name is Steve Foster. Friendly staff. Price was as expected, poor value for money ($120 2A per week powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were dirty, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom. Suitable for overnighter.
Dislikes: Cleaning virtually not done at all. Took 3 mins to clean women’s amenities (6 showers, 6 toilets) and about the same for men's. Also cabins were 'cleaned' in a record time of about 10 mins (if that). Cleaning materials were a squeeze bottle and a cloth. Don't think he owns a toilet brush. No mop in amenities. No soap, no towels or hand-drier.
Added Touches: Restaurant attached to park, giving evening meals.
Local Information: TV reception - No digital. got 7 ABC and SBS. Unable get Imparja. Unable get line of sight for satellite dish. Mobile phone reception - Good. Autogas available locally. The park is a pretty good place to stay by the standards of this part of Australia. The park has plenty of space and drive through sites with some grassed areas for campers. There are plenty of sandy areas as well but in water deprived Ceduna this can be forgiven. The park has a number of concrete caravan pads as well. Facilities in the park are quite good. Clean ablution blocks, some shade trees, a swimming pool with adjacent gazebos, tables and chairs. Rainwater is available. Pets are allowed with the manager's permission. Located away from the centre of town the park proved to be pleasantly quiet. The park also has a variety of cabin accommodation, a good little bar and pool table. Fairly good value for money. Prices are about average to slightly on the cheap side.

Ceduna Foreshore Caravan Park, Ceduna
Corner Poynton Street and South Terrace. Left at McKenzie Street off main highway. At rear of the Foreshore Hotel. Ph: 08 8625 2290 or 1300 666 290. Top Tourist member. Pets at manager's discretion.
A very basic park in an excellent position, close to beach, jetty, boat ramp, town centre and hotel. The park has not a blade of grass and apart from the roadways, which are of old bitumen, everything else, including the camping area, is covered with gravel. The concrete annex pads are too small to be of much use and, in some cases are lower than the surrounding gravel causing run-on in rain. The amenities are old and shabby, cleaned well every day but toilet rolls are allowed to run out before being replaced, sometimes leaving unlucky patrons with nothing to wipe themselves on. On the positive side: staff are friendly and helpful, there is an excellent fish-cleaning area and a small BBQ/camp kitchen. During our stay the park was full every night and we were among the 3 or 4 patrons without a tinny and fold-up trailer. The park is very popular and you are lucky to get in if you don't pre-book. So, if you are mad keen fisher people with a tinny and fold-up trailer and you enjoy large circles at Happy Hour (men on one side, the ladies on the other) this is the place for you, worth staying for a week or more. For travellers to and from the Nullarbor, an ideal overnight stop.

Manager's name is Nanette. This park is neat and tidy and has a number code secure for amenties, and back gates to the beach but I feel the amenties nead a good overhaul, they are getting old and patch up, 3 of the men's shower cubicle doors did not lock. The annex slabs were small but ok. Being a Top Tourist member I paid $41.40 for 2 days. Friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Park is 100m from the shopping centre and across the road from the beach, protected by a security fence. There are two exit gates controlled by a keypad with same number as used for amenities. Reception was friendly and we were guided to site. Sites are generally shaded, gravel surfaced and reasonably level with concrete annexe pads, some are drive through, good water and sullage to sites. Central amenities block is clean and well maintained, although I must admit we didn't inspect the door hinges. Good hot water to showers, mop supplied. Would be generally adequate for numbers as park was close to full each night. Laundry was perfectly satisfactory. No noise problems were apparent. Admittedly there are no facilities such as pool or playground, but beach is a stone's throw away and there is a playground on the foreshore. There is also no toilet dump point in the park, but there is a town one about a kilometre away. Wireless internet available for $5 per hour. Price of $23 2A for powered site before discount considered good value compared to parks of much lower standard. Suitable for short or medium term stays – we would certainly stay again.
Likes: close to shops and foreshore.
Dislikes: keypad access to amenities rather than keys.

The previous owners kept this park immaculate - what a shame they sold it. Unfriendly staff, bad staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, poor value for money. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were dirty, condition is poor, there was inadequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs. Poor laundry, no rec room. Noisy park. No bbqs, no playground, no pool.
Likes: Close to the beach.
Dislikes: Dirty. Where is the health inspector? The showers grew mould, the latches to the showers and toilets were grubby and remained so for the four days we were there. The "cleaner" used special mops that did not touch the corners of the toilet and shower cubicles. Many of the tiles in the showers were badly mismatched and some cracked. Washing machines were dirty with caked washing powder around the lids. Rubbish bins were located by the vans and were very dirty. Leaf litter and some general litter piled up along the wire fence. This park is now run by a manager.
Local Information: Meals at the Ceduna Community Hotel were expensive and very average.

Ceduna Tourist Park, Ceduna
Follow blue signs from highway into McKenzie Street on the left. On the main road to Port Augusta 300 m from town opposite the Shell Garage. Ph: 08 8625 2150 or 1800 252 140. BIG4 member.
Manager's name is Brian & Kathy Verrall. There are two parks, look for the BIG4 sign. This is a small park very close to the main street (an easy walk). It has reasonable showers and toilets with plenty of water. A nice camp kitchen and good fish cleaning facilities. The sites are flat and easily negotiated. Good value for money. A little bit of noise from the main road and the occasional train, but not so much as to be a nuisance. Friendly owners (although park is up for sale as at May 09). Good fishing in the area - for those without boats, try the Denial Bay Jetty or Davenport Creek (easy 4x4 territory).

Manager Kathy & Brian Verrall. This is a grain terminal town, so quiet a few mice around. The caravan park was far enough away from town to avoid locals hanging around. Likes: Clean and well set out. They were full ,but fitted us in, in the grass area at the back. Still plenty of room. The amenities were spotless.
Added Touches: There are water restrictions, but you can, if need be ,wash your car with a bucket of water, and there is a fish/crab cleaning area as well. You can borrow a crab cooker free if needed.

We arrived on a 40-degree day and really appreciated the bay just over the sand dune and the shade shelter built on the beach. Masses of flies made us also appreciate the full shade cloth enclosures with doors around the rec. centre, the camp kitchen, and the semi ensuite amenities. The fish cleaning, crab cooking area was also fully covered with a shade cloth building, which also had grape vines and fig trees growing inside, the delicious fruit available to all in the park. A clean well maintained park, good staff, and with the problems that exist in town, the best place to stay in Ceduna is here, 3 km out of town.
