We were the first caravan in on the day and it was a bit difficult to determine the layout of the sites. However there is plenty of room for each site. Showers are $2 for 10 mins and water was very hot. Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money ($25 2A per night, powered, peak season). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, extra charge for shower, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with concrete annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, drive-through sites. Basic laundry, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4). Quiet, open & roomy park. Clean pool. Suitable for overnighter.

We only stayed at this caravan park due to severe wind conditions. We will not stay here again. The restaurant within the reception complex was filthy and owner allowed his dog to walked amongst the restaurant area. Average staff friendliness. Park is very spacious with trees and some grassed areas. We stayed there for 3 days and during that time the amenities were not cleaned i.e. the soap dish in the showers were blocked with soap and the build up of water created a "scummy pool". We were told by a fellow caravanner that there were baby snakes around, which we disbelieved until we saw one for ourselves. Average staff friendliness, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money ($25 2A, powered, peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 3). Quiet, open & roomy park, not enough shade, a few permanents. No bbqs, no playground. Dirty pool, tables and chairs provided.

Plenty of room for dogs to run around. Airport traffic or trains were not a bother at all - overall very quiet park in off season. Friendly staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money ($22 2A per night, powered, off-peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, very few concrete annex slabs, no sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by. Manager's name is Steve Foster. Friendly staff. Price was as expected, poor value for money ($120 2A per week powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were dirty, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom. Adequate number of tourist sites, all level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, late checkout allowed (up to noon), dump point, van parking. Quiet, open and roomy, plenty of shade. No playground. Dirty pool is open to sun, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for overnighter.
Dislikes: Cleaning virtually not done at all. Took 3 mins to clean women's amenities (6 showers, 6 toilets) and about the same for men's. Also cabins were 'cleaned' in a record time of about 10 mins (if that). Cleaning materials were a squeeze bottle and a cloth. Don't think he owns a toilet brush. No mop in amenities. No soap, no towels or hand-drier.
Added Touches: Restaurant attached to park, giving evening meals.
Local Information: TV reception - No digital. got 7 ABC and SBS. Unable get Imparja. Unable get line of sight for satellite dish. Mobile phone reception - Good. Autogas available locally. Good meals at community owned Foreshore Hotel. Tourist Information very helpful. Can only buy 1 cask of wine per person after 4pm (within 100k of Ceduna).

Managed by Marty & Jodie Andrews. Lovely park - across from the beach and only meters from the town. Surrounded by high fence. We paid $24.30 PN with Top Tourist discount ($27.00). Lovely management, very friendly and helpful. Good, clean amenities - soap and hand dryer provided. No pool, playground or dump point. All ground cover is gravel - no slabs. The smaller sites, which are closest to the beach, seemed a bit cramped but the middle and outer sections were more roomy and open. Basic camp kitchen. No pool or playground. Great fishing - particularly for crabs. The park has an excellent fish cleaning table with double gas burner and large pots provided (for cooking crabs). There is even a box containing newspapers for wrapping up the fish waste. Excellent fishing from the nearby jetty - especially the crabs. The Foreshore Hotel/Motel, which is right next door, is very modern and serves good meals.

We haven't stopped here before and probably will not again, mainly due to the location in the middle of town and the associated noise. Close to the beach, town, shopping and hotels make it handy if you are stopping more than a night or two. Very friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money ($27 2A per night). We paid $24.30 because of TT Discount. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Manager's name is Marty and Jodie Andrews. Good, quiet, small park centrally located across road from beach and jetty, 100m from CBD & modern Foodland IGA, next door to refurbished hotel with good meals, book ahead as this park fills early each day and virtually empties the next, mainly overnighters travelling to/from the Nullarbor, 2m cyclone wire fence with barbed wire top surrounds park, coded locks to toilet block and side gate access to foreshore. Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money ($27.00 2A per night, powered, peak season). We paid $24.30 because of Top Tourist discount. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Ceduna - nice but small park opposite the town foreshore, next door to the pub/motel - great location. It was howling a gale so we grabbed an air-conditioned 2 bedroom cabin for $100 (2 adults). One of the nicest cabins we've seen for the price - floorboards, nice new bathroom, good quiet split system aircon, queen bed plus four bunks - hence our positive rating. Would definitely stay in the park as a camper if it was less windy, though the sites were gravel/sand and oddly laid out so some folk might have trouble organising their spot. Probably not for tents/camper trailers, though all the annexes were pegged down somehow. Nice little town, could easily stay for a few days as it has all you need including a very nice recently redeveloped pub.
Date 02/2011. Park Rating 4:
Report submitted by Kal (26).

The best part of this park is its location - just a short walk to the main street and right next door to a nice pub with good meals. At $25 ($22.50 with discount) it was reasonable value. No grass in the park but it is Ceduna! The sites are flat and might only need adjustment on one side of the van. Small concrete pads provided on some sites - probably not much good for front or rear doors, but OK for middle door vans. The showers had plenty of water and good supply of hot water. The number of facilities seemed to cope well. However the overall appearance of the showers and toilets was not good. Tired and need an overhaul - probably even gone past it. Some sites have water views across the road. The foreshore is very public and there can be a little bit of noise if you are located on that road. The security gates provide a comforting assurance, although the barbed wire gives less assurance - even discomfort. Quite a few trees in the park and because Ceduna can be very hot - very welcome. They do make the task of getting onto some sites quite a challenge and bigger rigs took some time to get in and then had limited space to get the car off the road. Every inch of space has been utilised. Lots of overnighters and I think this probably is one reason that the facilities are so poor - they obviously get a hammering. There is no dump point in the park - dumping in toilets is forbidden, but a large public dump just out of town (WA side, by the BP servo). It is a good place for an overnighter. Good Telstra coverage for both mobile and internet. I prefer other parks in the town for the longer stays. Good fishing and crabbing within the area. Nice new Foodland in the town and lots of other services.

Report submitted by Bluey and Rose, Flagstaff Hill SA (70).

Manager's name is Nanette Smith. A nice park in a great spot close to the beach, jetty, boat ramp, town centre and hotel. There is no grass in the park and the rest of the park is gravel. Not too sure what the purpose the concrete annex pads serve as they are too small to be of much use. The camp kitchen is very basic but clean. There is no dump point in the park but there is a municipal one on the main road heading west at the BP Service Station at the end of town. Friendly and helpful, there is an excellent fish-cleaning area and a small BBQ/camp kitchen. During our stay the park was full every night and we were among the 3 or 4 patrons without a tinny and fold-up trailer. The park is very popular and you are lucky to get in if you don't pre-book. So, if you are mad keen fisher people with a tinny and fold-up trailer and you enjoy large circles at Happy Hour (men on one side, the ladies on the other) this is the place for you, worth staying for a week or more. For travellers to and from the Nullarbor, an ideal overnight stop. Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money ($22.50 2A per night, powered, off-peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes or 5th wheelers, concrete annexe slabs to most sites, most sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, secure entry, wireless internet is available, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Peaceful, open and roomy, plenty of shade, no permanents. Clean UC electric bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground, no pool. Suitable for a few days, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.

A very friendly, clean and tidy park, within a few minutes' walk of the town centre and the lovely foreshore area. On Highway 1 and close to train line, but noise from both is minimal. Some sites have no shade. Is very windy here, at this time of the year, so not many vans have awnings or annexes up. Facilities are near-new and well maintained. Shower and toilet stalls are large. Great for an overnight stay or for a few days.

Small park with gravel surfaced sites. We stayed in an ensuite site. Excellent roomy ensuite with separate shower cubicle, cupboard under basin and outside foyer area. Ensuite was lovely and bright and in excellent condition, with ample hot water and good exhaust fan. Sites were quite narrow, we couldn't open our awning although a smaller van probably would have been able to. We had to leave a day earlier than planned because of health issues and they refunded our payment with no questions and helped hitch up. Very good value for money ($34.20 2A per night, ensuite). A little bit of noise from the main road and the occasional train, but not so much as to be a nuisance. Friendly owners (although park is up for sale as at May 09). 1090 kms West of Adelaide, situated on Eyre Hwy between Border Village and Nundroo. Ph: 08 8625 6271. Dogs allowed on leash.

Poor value for money ($25 2A per night, powered, peak season). Amenities were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, extra charge for shower.
Likes: It is well located geographically for the East-West trade. Leave the van hitched up, and drive in/out.
Dislikes: The Nullarbor is very flat, and often windy. If you have a pop-up van, you will most likely have a night of watching the roof move with very strong gusts. We'd plan for the overnight stop to be better sheltered, like Penong in SA, or Eucla onwards going West. At $25 for the night, one should have had showers included, but they were extra. Having said that, the showers were clean, hot, and plenty of pressure. It also was the most expensive place for fuel on the crossing ($1.789 for unleaded, where Eucla, Mundrabilla & Cocklebiddy were $1.54) There's better value crossing the Nullarbor than this place.

No trees, sullage or water taps, just an expanse of gravel with power boxes. Plenty of room to stay hitched up. Showers are $1 for 5 mins, good hot water, soap in amenities but no paper towels. Poor value for money ($25 2A per night, powered). No playground, no bbqs, no pool.

This is a nice roadhouse, great sites, gets very full and busy, don't hear the highway noise, there is a generator that runs the whole time, but it is a fair way away from the roadhouse. There is a charge for the showers. Sites are easy to get into and can remain hooked up the whole time. Nice just walking around the roadhouse. There was Telstra Next G mobile phone reception, TV reception, easy parking to check in and just a great feel. The showers were $1 for and I think the public could use them and the toilet. Average staff friendliness. Good value for money ($18 1A per night).

Typical roadhouse caravan park, no frills, level gravel freeform sites. No shade, water or sullage to sites. Amenities clean and adequate for numbers, but are available to all comers, not just park visitors. Charge of $1 for shower, 5 mins. Amenities are a long way from most sites. Roadhouse has usual facilities for meals etc. No pool. Price of $22 2A for powered site considered average. Would stay again. Don't miss whale watching at Head of Bight, May to October. Travel 14km east, then 12km off highway, sealed all way, OK for caravans. Entry price a little steep - $12pp, $10 concession, but the experience is worth every cent!

963 kms west of Adelaide, on the Eyre Hwy at the roadhouse. Ph: 08 8625 6120. Pets allowed.

This has to be the worst caravan park on the Nullarbor. $20 2A PN powered site; no water to the sites. Sites are not clearly marked and some are very close together. We had two car loads of 8 young overseas travellers who were a lovely group of 7 girls and one brave male who were parked almost under our van windows (about 8' away at the most) in 4 tents and unfortunately they talked & giggled between tents until midnight. The amenities which are keyed consist of two rooms in a 'donga' style building - one contains 2 showers separated only by the curtain. The other contained 1 toilet and a shower separated only by the curtain. Definitely not enough amenities for the number of patrons in the park. I had to use the service station toilets which were less than clean. BBQ shed is less than serviceable.

This is a weird park, the sites are hard to find what number you are in, and they are not that big if you fit 2 to a site. They have new sites now, instead of the old ones, and no one we spoke to really understood where there site is supposed to be. Some you could drive through if no one else was there. You have a key to open the power box to be able to put your power cord in. The showers there didn't seem to be a men or ladies just uni sex, the toilet was with the shower and only one, or you had to use the roadhouse, there was showers but you didn't want anyone else in there, as there was only a curtain separating the showers not an actual cubicle. It is all very weird and hope they fix it up soon especially the only one toilet. The BBQ area if you can call it that, isn't really anything; it is falling apart. Friendly staff. Good value for money ($20 1A per night, powered, shoulder season). Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, no sites with concrete annex slabs, shade to some sites.

Friendly staff. Poor value for money ($20 2A per night, powered, off-peak season). Inadequate number of amenities, cleanliness was average, condition is poor, water pressure is bad, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with concrete annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, drive-through sites. Poor laundry, no rec room, mobile wireless not available. Noisy, open & roomy park, not enough shade, no permanents. No bbqs, no playground, no pool. Suitable for overnighter.
Dislikes: The male amenities was closed so had to share female. Only one toilet with shower and two separate showers with no doors only curtains. No water for sites.

Enquire at roadhouse. Park information available at the store, staff were quite friendly but the park is 'under renovation'. Not sure how long this has been happening or is expected to continue as there seemed to be very little work happening apart from some strategically placed small machinery. Cost $8 per night for 2A but we were told to find a spot down the back when we said we would run a genset. Amenities are woeful, one shower room (2 showers) and one room with 1 shower and 1 toilet for all park visitors - men & ladies. Note on the door said this was due to the renovations. Situated right on the highway and the night moving trucks were right there. Food at the roadhouse was reasonably good for the price. Wouldn't stay there again unless it is known the renovations had finished and the amenities were majorly upgraded. No other facilities available.

We drove onto Penong as Ceduna was blowing a gale, and it was the next town heading West. It was literally too windy to put up the pop-up at Ceduna, so we hoped Penong was a bit more sheltered. The park was a nice find, and will be our preferred stopover place for our East-West trips. It was neat, tidy, and spotlessly clean. Very friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money ($20 2A per night, powered, peak season). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, very few annex slabs, shade to most sites, drive-through sites. Basic rec room, camp kitchen, no wireless internet available (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 2). Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, a few permanents.
Likes: This park was well shaded on most sides to handle the windy conditions that you get near the Nullarbor. We chose our own bay, and was sheltered on 3 sides from the wind. Awesome for pop-ups.

This park is about 70kms from Ceduna and a good stopover if you have travelled over the Nullarbor. At $25 2A - around the mark - probably a couple of dollars over. It has good access, flat sites, with power and water but no sullage points. Mobile phone reception good, mobile internet a little weak on Telstra but workable. The facilities are clean and in good order. Not five star, but the shower has plenty of drying room and protected area for clothes and towel. Can be a bit windy in Penong. It is on the edge of the Nullarbor, so the water and power was appreciated. Lots of drive-through sites. The park is used mainly by overnighters. We found it convenient and would use it again if we come this way.

Manager's name is Jill and Rob. Flattish grounds coated with sparkling white gypsum. Cacti planted around amenities and shrubs planted around perimeter. Shade cloth fence and shrubs as a wind break. Amenities block is a demountable which was moved and restored ten years ago, and is so well maintained it looks like new. Laundry has free washing machines, and iron available on request. Under cover area with gas barbecue, table and chairs and satellite television (three channels). On site vans, cabins and house accommodation. Being set back around 500 m from highway, campground is quiet. This very well maintained park only just falls short of the perfect score of 5 due to lack of a disability access bathroom. Very friendly staff. Price was as expected, very good value for money ($18 2A per night, unpowered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water.
