Excellent child friendly park, great facilities, pools are fantastic, jumping pillow , has tennis and putt-putt (fee). Adequate sized sites. Very clean.
Shops and fuel very close, BCF next door (for restocking). Parking for check-in and check-out is impossible and makes for a bad start to a great park. Will
definitely be going back and would recommend this park to everyone.

no immediate neighbours - definitely worth the extra money. Regular powered sites also available. Amenity block is new and
immaculate including disabled facilities.
Dislikes: Office staff not over friendly, no time for chit-chat due to pressure of organising theme park tickets for visitors.
Wait time to check in and checkout was ridiculous. Bed in cabin not very comfortable, next time we'll take the motorhome.

Likes: This is essentially a smallish park with only about 70 site and 12 tent sites. The amenities are only about 3 years old and cater for the park size
very well. There is a new (April 2011) entertainment room. Because the park has a limited number of sites it is almost always very comfortable.
Dislikes: I only wish the shower cubicles had shower curtains as well.
Parking: Only one "book-in" parking spot (for a van) but we have never encountered a problem in our last three visits.
Local Information: Plenty of local/tourist info & brochures available in the office.

What a beautifully located park, directly opposite beach, walking and cycle paths, bowls club, shops, bus service. On arrival the reception staff were
extremely welcoming. Debbie offered us the chance to choose our site which was a good thing to do as sometimes the location of a site can be a bit of an issue.
Not so at Burleigh. The cost seems typical at this time of year. What seems to need addressing at almost all parks is the advising of what dates are classed as 'Low', 'Mid' or 'High' season.
No assistance offered for placing van on site, although it was probably available if asked for. The site we used had a slope. Next time we plan to
check the slope of any slabs which we forgot to do, hence the rain on the slab ran through the annex floor. Roads all sealed full width.
The park is located quite close to the highway and noise was a bit of a nuisance early in the mornings from 5.30am. Extremely loud noise from council
street sweeper at 8am on a Monday morning was an unwanted intrusion to the park. Amenities were absolutely immaculate. Plenty of hot water in showers,
hand basins had liquid soap and hot air dryers. The shower area unfortunately allowed the water to splash into the drying area. Laundry, along with all
amenities, is thoroughly cleaned every morning. Cost of $4 for both washers and dryers seems to be the standard nowadays. Clean drying area and plenty
of line space. A dump point is located nearby the laundry.
There is a good BBQ area adjacent to the amenities which is under cover and has seating and lighting and in very clean and comfortable condition.
A camp kitchen is located at the top of a steep hill and has steps up to it. This is more used by young campers and backpackers and did not appear
to be used by any of those caravanners at the bottom of the embankment. No pool, but there is an indoor heated one across the street. A cable for
TV reception ($20 deposit and $5 hire fee) ensured go.
Reasonable value for money ($36 2A per night powered).

Staff directed us to site which was very muddy but was told that was all that was available for our size(had been raining all day so accepted it).
There was a warning sign near the site advising it was flood prone, which did not reassure me at all. Amenity block was not close and a very dark walk at night.

Likes: The laundry was fantastic although expensive $4 per load for washing
Dislikes: It poured while we were there, I thought we wouldn't be able to get our van out as it had sunk 1/2 way up the wheels in the mud whilst
parked on the site. I mentioned this to the staff on leaving the park so that they would not put any one else on the site until it had dried out but they were very dismissive about the situation

Didn't see this park in the best light as it was raining cats and dogs during our stay. Our slab badly broken with many parts missing and we

Stayed 7 nights, $183.60 per week, Top Tourist discount; Seven nights for six. Modern reception doubles are a kiosk. At the back of reception is a large modern motel.
Friendly helpful staff who explained park layout and gave me a map of the area, though the map is a bit confusing. Our slab/grass site No. 78
was fairly easy to back into. Security entry and security lock amenities. The only central amenities block is either fairly new, or recently refurbished, and is
quite a distance from some sites. It was very clean and in excellent condition. Very good laundry with washers/dryers ($3) and ironing boards and lots of outside
lines. A small undercover camp kitchen is at the rear of the amenities block and has spotless bbqs and some tables and chairs. Various sized sites, both with slabs
and grass. Suitable for large rigs. There is an open grassed area down the back in the flood area which is lovely and further away from the highway noise. This could
get very boggy if there was a heavy fall of rain. Bungalows and cabins looked all fairly new. Ensuite sites available. Dump point. Lovely clean shaded swimming pool,
tennis court, jumping pillow and playground. This park would be lovely but areas look tired and run down. Some of the roads are in desperate need of repair. The
one near us was dirt and bits of tar/concrete, and dirt and dust was thrown up when each car passed. Tracey, the new Manager who commenced here two months ago,
told me she has plans to do a major upgrade. She said that plans were with surveyors to see if it is possible to re-design the whole park to make it more user friendly.
There is an area out the back for permanents, some are very neat, others could do with a clean up. We would be interested in coming back in a year or two to see what has
been done. This park is fairly central to everything and we would stay again.

Not sure about pet policy, but have not seen any pets around in last 3 days.
Large park, one of seven owned/controlled by Gold Coast City Council. Lots of semi permanent wintering southerners, also some permanent sites. Site allocated to us (#64)
was difficult to get onto, due to large tree root in front of van position. If not for the occupant of permanent site next door, with his trolley jack, I would not have been able
to unhitch, because of the low level of the ball mount. Amenities are little dated, clean, and water pressure good. However trying to dry & dress in an area less than a square metre, was a bit tiresome.

On the positive side this is a lovely park in a great location. A large new resort type pool has been added since our last visit. However, we feel the park is overpriced
even for the coast. Since our last visit many sites have been reclassified as premium sites and have a higher charge than the remaining standard sites. All sites attract
an extra fee if you stay on a Friday or Saturday night. We had a standard site in the low season and paid $39.00 per night 2A powered during the week and $42.00 per night
2A over the weekend. We agree with a previous contributor regarding the state of rubbish bins. During our stay bins were over-flowing and left for days in this state.
Amenities were spotless but cleaned in peak hour putting extra pressure on the remaining amenity block.

Likes: Great location on Tallebudgera Creek. Walking distance to surf beach and tidal creek swimming areas. Amenities very clean.
Dislikes: Bins over-flowing and not emptied enough. Cleaning at peak time places too much pressure on the second amenity block which is a long walk from some sites.

This is a large park that ticks most boxes, but we could not rate is as highly as other contributors. On the positive, there are sealed roads,
access is OK, and it has normal things like access to water, a picturesque setting, two large amenity blocks, large pool, professional welcome,
reasonable access to Gold Coast attractions, concrete slabs to most sites, some large trees giving shade to some sites etc. However the atmosphere
for us was crowded and unfriendly. The staff at welcome were professional but you needed to ask questions to get any information. No information
was provided on things happening during the week but obviously there were some morning teas, some entertainment and access to courtesy buses.
One of the ladies facilities was closed for cleaning between 9am and 10am. Whilst there were other facilities in the park, they are some distance
from most sites and because of the pressure from the others being closed during a busy period, they were under duress. Even the men's had line
ups to use the toilets around 8am. Not enough night lighting for us. Large rubbish/recycling bins, but hard to work out which was which and not
emptied often enough. Large, busy, cattle-class feel for us. At $40 a night, overpriced, but then it is consistent with other council operated
parks on the Gold Coast. And we had to ring three others before getting a site at this one. So, I guess the market is setting the price. It is
OK and most people would find it satisfactory. With some effort and a more concentrated customer focus this could be a real winner. We will not
rush back, but would stay again if we are in the area.

Park sign is not easily seen as it is a dark greyish blue in colour, although the "Austar" advertisement in red on the sign is easily seen. Coming from the
north it is hidden behind a tree and cannot be seen until just before the turn. The free internet connection and morning tea was not mentioned on book in.
No offer of help to site. The park was full so it was a bit claustrophobic
on the smaller sites. Sites were numbered but no marks showing boundaries. People on adjoining site had chairs and clothes line on what I thought was my site.
Park employee said "oh well just put it where you can". Boom gates were broken for length of stay but still had to check in and out. I found pool gate wide open
twice and advised staff. Three days later the springs were not fixed and the thought of tying it closed with an "out of order" sign must have been a bit difficult.
There were three other gates. One laundry had 6 machines and a major shortage of lines. Several of the wires were broken, which didn't help. Another guest said they
reported it over a month prior. The other laundry only had three machines and heaps of lines so wash it in one laundry and drive it to the other to get it dry.
BBQs had a number of signs but none to say how much money to put in. Showers had a common drain at the rear - not very nice in this day and age. The seven main
parks on the Gold Coast are council operated. They are therefore similar in price which has possibly influenced the prices of other parks in the area. This is a
nice park where attention to detail and fixing problems are given low priority. One wonders about the logic behind the changes made but I expect more from a $38 park to a $28 one.
Friendly staff, good staff response to complaints
Reasonable value for money ($38.00 2A per night, powered, off-peak season).
Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to only some sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good,
there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided.
Inadequate number of tourist sites, some unlevel sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, concrete annex
slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by.
Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, dump point, secure entry, wireless internet is available, you can use your mobile wireless
(carrier used was Optus, reception quality was 2).
Quiet, open & roomy park, not enough shade, a few permanents.
Clean UC electric bbq (pay), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq.
Good playground in good condition.
Clean heated pool is shaded.
Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families.
Likes: Good location, lovely pools, traffic and plane noise minimal.
Dislikes: Location of BBQs, camp kitchen and rec. room were 150m plus from many of the sites as were the amenities and laundry. I believe the pool
extension required the BBQs to be repositioned well away from the sites. Pity as most of the older guests did not use the pool, just the BBQs.
Parking: Book in lane provided although a tight fit.
Added Touches: Morning tea on Monday.

This is a pleasant park, right on an estuary of the nearby beach. A number of sites are on the water (but beware, they cost more) that have
lovely views. The park has a walking/jogging path which goes past it, and this can be used to access the beach and is a very pleasant walk.
We found reception staff to be very friendly, and they gave us a courteous welcome. They also gave us the choice of several sites on arrival.
I think the price was reasonable (about $40 a night for the waterfront sites) in the off peak period. The amenity block was very clean,
and well maintained, but quite old and dated facilities. There were sufficient facilities for a large group of travellers. Overall the
park was well looked after. Some sites had shade but this was sparse. I think there were probably about 200 sites (guesswork here) and
they were all level and well spaced apart from each other. There were both grassed and cement slabbed sites. A few sites were drive
through but these were limited in number. There was a good sized laundry and there was an amenities room but we didn't use either so
can't comment. The pool was quite small but a much large one was under construction during our stay. But of course there is the beach
nearby, and at the back of the park is a stinger enclosed seawater pool which was very popular with many people of all ages. We enjoyed
our stay here but think it could get very noisy during the holiday periods and would avoid it at those times. It is suitable for any
length of stay. We will definitely go back.

We stayed in a deluxe villa and it was very well maintained. We would have been happier if we were given what we were told at time of booking and been one back from the
waterfront with water views but instead we were in a very nice unit as far from the waterfront as possible with glimpses of water. We did have a look at the amenities in
view of bringing the van next time and they seemed more than adequate. One of the pools could have been cleaner but it may have been sand from the beach that was causing
the problem. We had a problem with a blind in our unit and staff attended to it very quickly so all in all it was a very pleasant stay. Staff did seem a little put out
when we asked for a couple more tea bags as we only received four to start with for a three night stay.
Friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice.

Parking: Parking is available outside office and very good.
Added Touches: Blackboard did offer activities but none while we were there. Fish cleaning table next to boat ramp was clean and convenient.

This is a nice park in a nice location. Not cheap nor are the other six council operated parks on the Gold Coast. Unfortunately this monopoly has
allowed them to control the prices of most of the parks. I advised them that there were a couple of BBQ's in the camp kitchen which had been left filthy after
people used them at breakfast and they may care to check them. Negative response. I advised them that their free Internet was pretty useless and that I was in
line of sight of the aerial but could rarely get a connection. Response was - well it can vary with the weather. Very friendly over the phone but off-handed when
face to face. I think I am starting to dislike the pin number controlled boom gates. They often don't work and they are a real problem when people key in the number.
Twice in this park there were more than six vehicles held up because of this. I know remote controls are expensive but a decent deposit could be charged and the benefits would be great.
Average staff friendliness, bad staff response to complaints.
