Take Helensvale South turn-off, off Pacific Highway, head along Brisbane Road, park on left just past "Harbour Town" shopping centre. Ph: 07 5537 1511 or 07 5500 8699 or 1800 339 966. BIG4 member. Free Spirit Holiday Parks member. No pets allowed.
Friendly staff, average staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, good value for money ($85 2A per night, cabin). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites. Good laundry, good camp kitchen, disabled facilities, dump point, secure entry. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere, a few permanents. Clean bbq (free). Good playground in good condition. Clean heated pool is open to sun, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Park is a BIG4 and ultra modern. Three swimming pools including one with a slide to service the many different styles of accommodation. Nice on-site bistro serving excellent food and service. Premium powered sites offer privacy with large site and no immediate neighbours - definitely worth the extra money. Regular powered sites also available. Amenity block is new and immaculate including disabled facilities.
Dislikes: Office staff not over friendly, no time for chit-chat due to pressure of organising theme park tickets for visitors. Wait time to check in and checkout was ridiculous. Bed in cabin not very comfortable, next time we'll take the motorhome.
Local Information: Centrally located just a short drive from all theme parks.

Burleigh Beach Tourist Park, Burleigh Heads
Just off the Gold Coast Highway, turn opposite the Burleigh Heads Bowls Club and turn right about 200 metres along Goodwin Terrace. Ph: 07 5581 7755.
A well set up park with lots of trees; every powered site has a good concrete annex pad and room to park a car. Cables can be hired ($5 per week) for better TV reception. The roadways are wide, the amenities are the most modern we have encountered in over a hundred parks and they are properly cleaned every day. Showers have a good flow and there is plenty of room to dry oneself afterwards but: there is the common design fault that showers point towards the door so the floor gets wet where you stand to dry yourself and so you paddle wet all over the amenities floor. There is free wireless internet (two hours per day per site) which needs a bit of fine-tuning as the signal is weak in parts of the park. The managers are aware of this so, hopefully, it will soon be fixed. The beach, bowls club, hotel, bus stop (excellent bus services along the Gold Coast Highway), Burleigh shopping centre and numerous restaurants are all in easy walking distance. There is an excellent modern laundry but one minor criticism here is that the fixed clotheslines are fairly high and difficult for the average height woman to reach with comfort. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There are no facilities (playgrounds etc) for children and no pets are allowed. Suitable for an extended stay (many of the tenants stay for 3 months or more) for couples.

Gold Coast Holiday Park, Helensvale
Off Pacific highway. Exit 60 near Movie World. Entrance is hard to find on right hand side of the road approx 1 km past fast food shops. Ph: 07 5573 1185 or 1300 789 189. Top Tourist member. Dogs on leash. Must have Vet certificate to prove your pet has been vaccinated.
Large park and well patronised. Close to the 'worlds'. Two areas for parking vans both grassed with one having cement blocks. Some difficulties was experienced with backing van (22ft) into site because of narrow roadway and location of bushes. Some drivers have been provided with assistance by the Park to manoeuvre their van into place. The other area is also grassed and prone to flooding however if you request a higher level site it should be okay. There is no sullage in this area and the admin staff informed us that we would be required to bucket our waste water. However, we noticed that most vans had their sullage pipes attached and running onto the grassed area. This all grassed area is further away from the very noise motorway and a better location if you are staying for some time. The ablution and laundry areas are adequate. There is a nice grassed area near the small river for walking the dog. The park provides 2 internet access computers for $2 for 20min. For eating out there are some nice café etc at Paradise Point also a good riverside walk for the dog. If you require any car maintenance Oxenford Service Centre up the road is honest and reasonably priced. If you wish to leave your pet (cat or dog) in care for a day or so we found Coomera Pet Motel very professional. Service from the parks administration staff was efficient and pleasant with the exception of one rather terse person and another that calls you dear and sweety (I am 58!).

Friendly staff. Price was as expected, good value for money ($28.00 2A per night powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites. Good laundry. Noisy, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: Extensive area for walking the dogs.
Dislikes: As this park is on the service road of the Gold Coast Highway, the traffic noise is constant and, while it didn't worry us to any extent, we can see that it would have an effect on those sites nearest the road.

We stayed in a powered ensuite site; ensuite was very clean. Very friendly staff, average staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($59 A3 2C per night powered ensuite). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were dirty, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, disabled facilities, some level sites, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, basic rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, dump point, secure entry. Noisy, open & roomy park, not enough shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean UC electric bbq (20c), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Basic playground in good condition. Clean pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for few days.
Likes: Proximity to theme parks.
Dislikes: Road noise during the day a little quieter at night if staying in ensuite sites, other sites road noise may not be as bad. On the normal powered sites it looks like they have you packed in like sardines. I would only stay at this park again if I had to and then only at one of their ensuite sites.
Local Information: Close to all the theme parks most no more than 2-3 kms away. Sea World was approx a 15-minute drive.

Manager's name is Gold Coast City Council. Management were not too friendly but the staff were. The staff seemed to be some caravanners that were on a working holiday and whilst at this park were working here. I had no complaints to make while staying here. We were shown to our site and given excellent assistance in parking the van on the site by the staff - read caravanners. The prices were a little more than I thought, but taking its location into consideration I guess they were reasonable. We paid $26/ night and our 2.5 year old daughter was free for a powered site with an annexe slab. To say the amenity blocks were excellent would be an understatement. They were spotless and very modern with excellent water pressure and hot water. The showers had a dry change area and liquid soap was put out at the hand basins. They were accessible via a PIN code so the park never needed a key deposit. There was an invalid bathroom and a kiddies bathroom too. This park is only a tourist park albeit a small one, at a guess there are only about 48 sites total (all powered most with slabs) and 3 cabins. The park is literally a stones throw from Miami beach, which is patrolled too. There is an excellent laundry, but no rec room or swimming pool - I guess the close proximity of the beach negates the need for one. There is an internet kiosk in the laundry for $2 for 15 min. There is secure entry to the park via a PIN code on a boom gate and the office has a small kiosk - essentials only, there is an undercover camp kitchen with BBQ's and washing up area, and small seating availability. No dogs are allowed, there are a few Pine trees around some of them were dropping sap according to my neighbour but I was lucky enough not to be too near to any. I would have rated this park a 5 if it had a swimming pool and a kiddies playground, but apart from that it was pretty much faultless. We will be back.

This is a pleasant park, right on an estuary of the nearby beach. A number of sites are on the water (but beware, they cost more) that have lovely views. The park has a walking/jogging path which goes past it, and this can be used to access the beach and is a very pleasant walk. We found reception staff to be very friendly, and they gave us a courteous welcome. They also gave us the choice of several sites on arrival. I think the price was reasonable (about $40 a night for the waterfront sites) in the off peak period. The amenity block was very clean, and well maintained, but quite old and dated facilities. There were sufficient facilities for a large group of travellers. Overall the park was well looked after. Some sites had shade but this was sparse. I think there were probably about 200 sites (guesswork here) and they were all level and well spaced apart from each other. There were both grassed and cement slabbed sites. A few sites were drive through but these were limited in number. There was a good sized laundry and there was an amenities room but we didn't use either so can't comment. The pool was quite small but a much large one was under construction during our stay. But of course there is the beach nearby, and at the back of the park is a stinger enclosed seawater pool which was very popular with many people of all ages. We enjoyed our stay here but think it could get very noisy during the holiday periods and would avoid it at those times. It is suitable for any length of stay. We will definitely go back.

This is an excellent park well located on the Gold Coast. It is popular with locals from the Gold Coast as well as interstate tourists. The amenities blocks are adequate and are kept clean. Most sites are quite large and are capable of taking a car and a boat comfortably. The environment is wonderful. It is located beside Tallebudgera Creek, which has sandy beaches and a shark proof swimming enclosure. The surf beaches are but a short walk away. There is a pool in the park but while it is pleasant enough, it is small and totally inadequate for the size of the park. The laundries are clean but again the question of adequacy in busy periods arises. While we were generally happy with the park and have booked to go again, there are a number of matters relating to general maintenance that we hope will be resolved before we return. The security boom gates were not operating and apparently had not worked for two months. This created a problem with the number of vehicles in the park generally and on one occasion, with hoons coming into the park at night. We were there during the peak-growing season yet the grass in our area, even when sites were vacated, was not mown during our two-week stay. At the same time, the garbage bins around the park were cleared 4/5 times a day. An excellent service but less priority on this and more on mowing would have been time better spent. Staff tended to operate in a cocoon, more bureaucratic attuned than customer relations. If it didn't fit into their area of operations staff didn't want to know anything about complaints. A comment about grass mowing to the office got a response of "put it the questionnaire you have been given", rather than "sorry about that, I'll make sure someone in the ground maintenance area sorts that out". Given its location on the Gold Coast the park represents good value for money. We have been before and we will certainly go again when hopefully the problems, which are primarily one of management, will have been resolved.

This is a large park which has good facilities and is in an ideal location both close to Surfers and the theme parks. The ensuite sites good but a little cramped to get into and out of. A path from the concrete slab to the ensuite would have made the sites ideal. Despite being on a main road the park was quiet and provided a good atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good value for money. Amenities were clean, condition is good. Mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs to most sites. Quiet, suitable for a week or more

A large park that is handy to all Gold Coast attractions, particularly the theme parks. The sites are large enough for our van (18ft) but anyone with a van over 20ft should check the site before trying to move on. Also be aware that the park is exposed and although the waterfront sites can look wonderful on a calm day the prevailing winds don't have to be too strong to make life very uncomfortable. The amenities blocks are adequate and kept clean and tidy, although the one that we used is starting to show its age and could do with a bit of work. Staff were invisible in the park but as everything seemed to be working that wasn't a problem for us. We enjoyed our stay and will go again.

Note this park is difficult to access. No turn in from the north due to a concrete island. A U-turn is required at the next set of lights. From the south you come up on the drive with little warning and can easily overshoot the narrow drive. We chose not to stay as we have a Nissan Civilian and tow a trailer and car. Too difficult for us I'm afraid.
