Manager's name is Lars and Jan Leckstrom. The website for this park promised a lot and upon arrival the reception was great. This has the potential to be a great park as it is close to Mt Selwyn snowfields and Lake Eucumbene. However we were really shocked and disappointed at the state of the toilet facilities which were old but could have been suitable if they had been cleaned and maintained properly. The facilities were not cleaned during our stay of three days. Before we arrived they had been cleaned but they did not bother to lift the shower mats in the shower cubicles but moped around them resulting in a massive build up of dirt. Cobwebs plus dirty walls and dirty floors. There was no paper towel provided at all and bits of old soap were left everywhere. An empty liquid soap dispenser on the wall remained that way during our stay. Advertised as heated on the website this consisted of a single bar heater not switched on and totally inadequate for the size of the facilities, added to this the distance of the ladies from the sites was too far for convenience. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was much higher than expected, poor value for money ($37 2A 2C per night powered). Inadequate number of amenities, are close to only some sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is bad, there was adequate hot water, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, average sized sites. Basic laundry, no rec room. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, no permanents. UC gas bbq (free). Basic playground in average condition. No pool. Suitable for few days.
Likes: Walking distance to town
Dislikes: Facilities weren't cleaned once during our stay.
Added Touches: Discount coupons for local business - ski hire.
Local Information: Mt Selwyn snowfields close by, Snow Goose hotel has great meals.
Roads: Good roads

Batemans Bay Beach Resort, Batemans Bay
Formerly Glenhaven Van Village. 51 Beach Road. Ph: 1800 217 533. BIG4 member. No pets allowed.
This was our third stay in this park. We had an ensuite site - special offer, stay 7 nights, pay for 5. This plus the BIG4 discount brought the price down to $216.00 for the week. Extremely good value! Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, very good value for money ($216.00 2A per week, ensuite, off-peak season). Amenities were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, kiosk, car wash, dump point, secure entry. Quiet, open & roomy park, not enough shade, family/friendly atmosphere, a few permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere. Good playground in good condition. Clean pool is open to the sun, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Closeness to beach. Very calm water (when we were there). Appears to be safe for kids. Good for fishing. The friendliness of the staff.
Dislikes: Really nothing, except there could be a bit more shade.

Clyde View Holiday Park, Batemans Bay
107 Beach Road, Batehaven. Ph: 02 4472 4224. No pets allowed.
Found this park to be great. Only a few tourist sites but all the permanents are very helpful and friendly. During our visit we had a severe hailstorm and the night caretaker made sure that we and all others were ok. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, good value for money ($28.00 2A per night powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, late checkout allowed (up to noon), good camp kitchen, secure entry. Quiet, claustrophobic park, not enough shade, too many permanents. Clean pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for few days, well maintained park.
Likes: Beachfront location being able to walk to local shops was very quite.
Dislikes: Difficult entry from main road so any more than one van at a time to check in will have trouble.
Parking: Park at reception before secure gate.
Local Information: Many great attractions in area including Mogo Zoo and Old Mogo Town.
Roads: Good roads although Princess Highway is very undulating and winding.

Buckenderra Holiday Village, Buckenderra
Signposted off the Snowy Mountains Highway about 1km from the turnoff outside of Cooma heading north on Lake Eucumbene. Ph: 02 6453 7242. Dogs on leash.
Friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, van parking assistance provided by staff. Price was lower than expected, good value for money ($21.50 2A per night powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, poor night lighting, large sites, drive-through sites, basic rec room, kiosk, secure entry. Peaceful, open & roomy park, not enough shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean UC electric bbq ($1) in congenial bbq area atmosphere. Basic playground in average condition. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: On the shores of Lake Eucumbene, large irregular sites in a powered area but you can camp in the non-powered areas if you want less neighbours. The sites are huge and can mostly be drive through if you wish. Room for car, boat and caravan on the sites or multiple tents.
Dislikes: The powered sites are on a slope with a couple of concrete level pads for the van wheels. These are not necessarily in the best spot and we found a reasonable level area on our plot and were very comfortable. The power and water is centralised and we needed two power leads and a hose extension to reach the services.
Parking: Marked parking area outside the gate suitable for a 20 foot van and long car. Gate is swipe card, which is free with no deposit required.
Added Touches: Half drum braziers and free firewood provided for individual fires on your site.
Local Information: The shoreline is currently about 1km from the park due to the water level being at 20%.
Roads: The road to the park is narrow but in good order and was no problem for car and 19ft caravan.

Typical NSW south coast park with lots of cabins and holiday vans. However, there is an adequate number of tourist sites, several large enough for our 5th wheeler. Lake on one side and beach on the other. Pets OK if you ask nicely. Very friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, very good value for money ($25 2A per night powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided. Dolphin Point Caravan Park, Burrill Lake
Turn left on Princes Highway to Burrill Lake near Ulladulla. Dolphin Point Road. Ph: 02 4455 1606. It is the only park on the beach. This park was a pleasure to stay in, the management, although young were very helpful when asked. Amenities are a little old but kept very well and cleaned twice a day. Cabins are all right on the waterfront but didn't worry us too much as they probably protected us from any wind. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, very good value for money ($30 2A 2C per night powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, extra charge for shower, soap provided, dry change area. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, late checkout allowed (past noon), secure entry. Quiet, open & roomy park, not enough shade, family/friendly atmosphere. All pets allowed. Gas bbq. No playground, no pool.
Likes: Very friendly park, even other campers were super friendly, we had our grandchildren and others were only too happy to watch them for short periods. Very family friendly.
Dislikes: Sites could have been a little larger but they were adequate and it did rain 7 days out of the 10 that we were there.
Added Touches: Sink outside laundry for washing up. The park is next door to a large public park which has bbq facilities and a playground and is also on the lakefront.
Local Information: The local attraction is the beach. People come from everywhere to this beach and inlet. Close to Ulladulla which has many attractions - shopping, eating, etc. Fish & Chips on the highway were exceptional.
Date 01/2006. Park Rating 4: Suitable for a week or more.

Likes: It wasn't a bad park, a bit further out of town to walk into town. It is affected by drought. The drive through sites, were meant to fit 2 vans on it, but some would be pushing it.
Parking: There is a parking area
Roads: Good road

Manager's name is Grafton and Harfield families. The cabins are great, very tidy and spotless, as are the units, facilities are spotless, parts of the caravan park are looking a bit tired, but the managers have slowly improved the park over the years, we have been staying here for a few years, usually for 2 weeks at a time. It is good value for money, it's not gold class, but at the price we paid we didn't expect it to be. Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($33 2A 2C per night powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, basic rec room, good camp kitchen. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean UC electric bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Basic playground in poor condition. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: Very friendly staff, had problems with the power, the managers were great, helped straight away, nice and quiet, not too busy, kids loved the trampoline and minigolf, bathroom facilities were spotless.
Dislikes: Not enough play equipment, not enough lighting where we camped, needs some road works done, but the good outweighed the bad. The overflow area is overgrown.
Added Touches: We have stayed at this caravan park numerous times, each time we arrive we notice that there has been some improvement done, at Easter the kids have been given Easter eggs, and in summer they have been given free icy poles.

Crookhaven Heads Tourist Park, Culburra
Manager's name is Steve & Kathy. Ph: 1300 773 026. About 5 mins drive from the small coastal town of Culburra. Head through Culburra and follow signs to the Crookhaven Heads Lighthouse along Price Edward Drive. The park is on the right hand side of the road you can't miss it. This park is situated on a peninsula, beach one side, river on the other, so caravanners/campers can have the best of both worlds, fishing and swimming/surfing. Once at the park there is little need to take the car anywhere because the beach and river are only a couple of minutes walk away. They also have a large pool. We were there New Years Day 2006 (the day of the heat wave), and we were in the pool with the rest of the caravan park (beach was too hot) there was still enough room to play around with out hitting too may people. Friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($40 2A per night powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, kiosk, disabled facilities, car wash, dump point, secure entry. Quiet, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. No dogs. Clean gas bbq (free), bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. Clean pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for month or longer, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Likes: I've been going to the park for the past 28 years. In more recent times, the park is removing permanents and putting in grassier tourist sites, which makes the place so much nicer. They are putting in taps and sullage drains in the new sites. While it is a large park with I think about 250 sites some tourist and some permanent. Lots of room for riding bikes or going for walks. The park has a fence all around the boarder and the gates need keys, which only the park patrons have. So it keeps the ferals out and the little ones in.
Dislikes: At the southern end of the park the sites are on sandy ground and can get dusty when the wind picks up.
Parking: Stay to the left near the office. It's a bit of a tight squeeze to get past people checking in sometimes.
Added Touches: There's the local boat ramp a stones throw away from the park which has a cleaning table and boat wash down area. They have toilets too but there not very nice. They are maintained by the local council not the park managers.
Local Information: Great fishing whether off the rocks or in a boat. The local bakery (Partridges) have the best custard tarts! Can do day trips to other beaches eg Honeymoon Bay or Callala Bay.

Dalmeny Caravan & Camping Ground, Dalmeny
Turn off Princes Highway approximately 7 kms north of Narooma. 2 kms to camping area (unfenced). Ph: 02 4476 8596.
Manager's name is Craig Boulton. This is the third time we have camped here in the last 18 months. Camping ground is owned by Eurobodalla Shire Council and now under new management by Craig Boulton. The park has new amenities block with glass sliding doors in showers. Amenities kept reasonably clean although not cleaned daily as a large part of the year there may only be 1 or 2 campers. On arrival you choose where you want to camp and set up. Manager will catch up with you generally late afternoon. This camping ground has one of the best views on the Coast with view north along the beach and west up the Lake. A concrete walk/bike track has now been completed around the foreshores and will soon follow the shores all the way to Narooma. There are 14 powered sites but an additional 8 are expected before Christmas. The sites are mainly sloping but with a bit of manoeuvring this can be overcome for caravans and motorhomes. This is one of the few parks where open fires are allowed and there is a pile of old bricks near amenities block so you can build your own temporary fireplace. Limited firewood is supply but it is easy enough to take a saw and pick some up along the road. Good playground opposite and very good IGA supermarket. Very peaceful and suitable for all. Friendly staff. Price was as expected, good value for money ($16 2A per night powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, poor night lighting, large sites. Good laundry, no rec room, late checkout allowed (past noon). Peaceful, open & roomy park, family/friendly atmosphere, no permanents. Dogs on leash. Wood bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, seating provided at bbq. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park.
Likes: Peaceful and magnificent uninterrupted view.
Dislikes: You cop the NE or NW winds

Manager Bill. Detour off Princes Highway (well signposted) a few kilometres to Dalmeny. Exits to Dalmeny both North and South of town. This park is actually termed a camping ground and has basic facilities (modern toilet and showers plus a good basic laundry and two rotary clothes lines). The big plus for this place is position, position, position! It sits on some of the best real estate on the NSW south coast. Walk across the road and you are right on a pristine beach. Take note, dogs are NOT allowed on this beach, but a short walk around the headland will take you to a good little beach ideal for dog exercise. Also, there is a good bitumen walking track that follows the road, winding along to the fire station and beyond. The sites are mainly sloping (a bit of a problem for Motorhomes in particular), and the powered sites are fairly few, however it's all about a relaxing holiday by the sea without the frills or accompanying expense. Out of season it's quiet and cheap too. The state government lays down the law on number of sites and length of stay (3 months maximum), but the Eurobodalla Shire Council manages to push against the odds and maintain a well run, well situated and well priced little Camping Ground. As the signage says, it's a well kept secret. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was lower than expected, very good value for money ($16 2A per night powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, large sites. Basic laundry. Peaceful, open & roomy park, family/friendly atmosphere. Dogs on leash. No playground, no pool. A well maintained park.

Eden Information

Eden a pretty town. Plenty of fishing, and beach activities. Large fishing fleet area so can buy seafood fresh from market. Town has 2 grocery shops plus others like bakery, butcher, newsagent and the like as well as fuel.
Cheapest petrol is the petrol station near top of the hill heading south out of town. Small surcharge for using credit card, but still makes it cheaper than any of the other places. Of course if paying by cash, makes it even cheaper.
We wanted to buy a fishing licence. I tried the fishing and tackle place in the main street, but the guy was too lazy to process it for me and directed me to the NRMA office just up the road. Needless to say, I didn't buy any tackle from him - try the other tackle shop on the highway near the petrol station at the main roundabout.
We wanted to buy fresh seafood from the "wholesale" place on the corner of Weecoon Street and Imlay Street (just past the wharves) but they said that the boats had not been out for weeks. Best to ask about the freshness of the seafood before buying.
Eden is naturally very beautiful. It has a lot of history associated with the whaling industry. There are plenty of good restaurants and coffee shops. The Eden port with the fishing trawlers is a fascinating place to visit.
Local hotels have good meals and the Fisherman's club offers dinner and bingo nights
Fishing, whale museum, great eating.

New managers Jim & Linda Pearce, been there four months after transferring from another park. We stayed for seven days, the week before Christmas. The day we arrived, Jim and Linda put on a free (including drinks) bbq for guests. Very friendly hosts, Jim showed us to our site, gave us a larger site due to having a boat as well. Great value for money, price was as expected ($161 2A 2C per week powered). There are also a number of cabins with different standards (some including spa), which friends of ours stayed in - very clean, well kept. There are also a number of ensuite caravan sites which looked in very good condition. Very clean amenities, soap and paper towels, good water pressure, separate baby bathroom and invalid amenity. Swap-and-Go gas refills, ice, dump point. Basic camp kitchen, no rec room. Clean pool, seating provided. Very good playground in excellent condition. Clean UC gas bbqs ($1), tables and chairs, night lighting, cleaning equipment provided. Sullage to most standard powered sites (extra sites marked out for peak period), water to all standard powered sites. Some drive through sites, I only noticed one site with an annexe slab. All sites close to amenities. Good laundry, new driers were installed while we were there. Boom gate swipe card. Good night lighting. Well kept lawns. It rained quite heavily one day and it didn't take long for the water to run off. Boat washing facility. A few permanents who are located at the rear of the park, all were friendly.

Manager Ross and Cindy Hatchman. You cannot miss the fountain out the front. We have stayed at this park many times for a week or more. All facilities are well maintained - the staff are always friendly and helpful and the park has a lovely family atmosphere. We have always had a great stay at this park. The sites are large - beautiful trees and the lovely sound of bellbirds give this park that certain comfortable and relaxed feel. It is close to town - surf beaches – dolphin and whale watching - fishing in Twofold Bay and great lake fishing at Pambula and Merimbula. Some highway noise from timber trucks - but it is not that bad. Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. This is a dog friendly caravan park reasonably close to town and on a broadwalk which we didn't have time to do. Price was as expected, good value for money ($22.50 2A per night powered). Manager's name is Val and Andy Hayward. We arrived at this park with a booking of one week. Within 2 hours we had extended to 2 weeks, and we reluctantly left nearly 5 weeks later. The managers could not do enough to accommodate our needs (we have a big 5th wheeler). What struck us initially was the sound of the bell birds, the grassy, shady sites and manicured gardens and the overall friendliness and feel of the park. The amenities block was the most spacious, clean and well appointed block we have ever come across (it has heated floors). The camp kitchen was also clean and more than adequate. It has a deck with picnic tables and seating arrangements, facing north so you can catch the sun, looking down onto a large grassed and treed area where the bird life is abundant. Garden of Eden is a credit to its managers. It is suitable for short term or long term, families, couples - anyone. It has a great pool, tennis court, big screen movies during the holidays, mini golf and more. We can't wait to get back there for a longer stay. We can't praise this park enough, and out of all the parks we have seen so far in our travels, this one is definitely the best.

Shadrack Resort, Eden
5 kms south of Eden, on Princes Highway. Ph: 02 6496 1651. Situated on Legges Beach, Twofold Bay, and the tidal Shadrack Creek it is an ideal position and being just a km from the 4-boat launching ramp at Quarantine Bay it is perfect for fishermen.
Having submitted a previous glowing report we honoured our promise to return. It is still a fantastic site for a park but what a difference has come with a change of ownership. The lawned sites still exist but not on the waterfront. These have all been taken by cabins. Cabins and chalets have also been built in other areas. Unfortunately for caravanners there appears to have been a distinct change in attitude with the change of ownership. Even in the newest chalets the only TV reception is ABC. The state of our ensuite - peeling ceilings, black mould in sealant and water swelled vanity unit made us feel we came a distant second in management's plans for the park. If we were giving ratings on the siting of the park and the friendliness of the managers we would retain our original rating but giving an over all rating the best we can give now is 2.5 and no recommendation to fellow caravanners.

There are more caravan sites near the entrance of the park, including some drive throughs. Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($25/30 2A per night, off-peak season). Manager's name is John Broadfoot. You have room to pull in and register but after this you will be directed to do a U turn as the entrance is a little way back down the street on the right. This is a great caravan park. A short walk across the road to the beach, a large, partly covered pool (with a covered toddler's pool and plenty of deckchairs) and a well equipped camp kitchen with plenty of seating. This is a park with a large number of holiday vans (the site straddles Bridges Road) but there are 43 tourist sites and these are very well catered for. Sites 12 to 15 (Bluegum Loop) are the best as a deck runs along the rear of these sites and there are picnic tables and 2 barbecues. Sites 1 to 18 (Cauarina Camp) are pleasant but do not have the same proximity to the camp kitchen and the amenities block which is also well maintained and very clean. Soap and hand dryer are supplied. We don't know how they would cope at Xmas or Easter but we stayed out of peak season so we virtually had it to ourselves. There is a games room next to the pool with a little kitchen (barbeque and sink). Pets are allowed. Price was $34 2A for a powered site which initially we thought expensive but you've got to be realistic about south coast parks - they are very seasonal. This park has peak, shoulder and low seasons. Other parks have even more. You could spend a week or more here especially if you're fond of the beach. The Kiama area has a lot of attractions and there is a burgeoning wine industry.
Likes: The camp kitchen is excellent. There is a fridge, sink, 2 barbecues (one you could do a roast in), electric cook top, microwave, toaster, kettle etc. The Bowls club is right next door to the park.

Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park, Gerroa
Located immediately south of the Broken River Bridge on Broken River Road. Check in on western side of road. Managed by the Municipality of Kiama. Ph: 02 4234 1340 or 1800 666 665. No dogs allowed during school holidays and long weekends.
Local Information: For those with dogs - beware of a walk through the bush on the riverside. The area is heavily tick infested and affected both our dogs and the young kids from the caravan next door.
Parking: Check in at office on "river side" (western side of road) before continuing to "beach side".

Manager's name is Tim and Carmen. Tim and Carmen have returned as Managers for the Kiama Council owned park and the park is now back on track and improvements were evident. The amenities on the beachside have all been re-tiled and much improved. It is a shame that guests do not keep them tidy during the peak times. Disabled guests may have difficulty with the hand basins as they are now one step up from the main floor and the doorways into the disabled toilet and shower have been narrowed. The council could spend money on redeveloping some sites making them larger as it is very crowded in peak times. There are a small number of concrete annexe pads and four ensuite sites. Two of the ensuites sites are very small. There would be drive through sites available during quiet times. It is difficult to access some sites in peak times because of over-crowding of surrounding sites. Access to Seven Mile Beach is excellent and the beach is patrolled during the school holidays. The park has secure boom gates but these were damaged in a storm at Christmas time and the Manager was having difficulty with a repair person. Considering it is a very busy park at peak times it is usually quiet by the noise curfew of 10.30pm. Friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($50 2A per night powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, small sites, concrete annex slabs, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, good rec room, kiosk, disabled facilities, secure entry, van parking. Peaceful, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean UC gas bbq (free), bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Basic playground in average condition. Dirty pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families.
Likes: The location of the park is fantastic. We have visited the park for many years and are fortunate to always have our favourite site. The amenities are now much improved. The former Managers have now returned and the park has improved.
Dislikes: Children running around and riding bikes until very late at night with no parental supervision. Disappointing that the cafe near the park does not carry a range of 'emergency items' and does not stay open very late at night.
Parking: Parking available at reception.
Added Touches: Free kids activities. Cable tv to sites with a deposit on the cable.
Local Information: Excellent meals are available at the Gerroa Boat Fishermans Club on top of the hill from the park. A great beach, patrolled in holiday times. Good shopping facilities at Gerringong and Berry. Lots of interesting art, craft, wineries in the area.

Park was disorganised difficult to find site however great location near surf beach. People camping around were really nice and been coming back year on year but have said it has deteriorated over the last couple. This park could get a 5 rating if it the managers spent some time cleaning. The amenities are one of the dirtiest we have seen and no real effort is made to clean the walls of the toilet, which are grotty. The pool skimmer box was cleaned by one of the campers because he noticed it wasn't maintained and found a dead rat in it. The camp kitchen is a good facility enclosed but it to has the problem of being dirty. The site we were on was unlevel and on dirt however there was plenty of grass around some sites. There has been no effort on management to level and resod these areas over quieter months which wouldn't be a hard task. This is a council run park and I gather the money is not adequately put back into the park. Possibly due to fact of its great location and solid bookings. Average staff friendliness, bad staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money. Inadequate number of amenities, are close to only some sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was inadequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided, disabled facilities. Inadequate number of tourist sites, some unlevel sites, poor night lighting, average sized sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, kiosk, dump point, secure entry. Quiet, claustrophobic park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Dirty UC electric bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere. Good playground in average condition. Dirty pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for families.
Likes: The friendly atmosphere among campers, location near beach.
Dislikes: Amenities were filthy and weren't locked so anybody coming off the beach could use them. Pathways were overgrown with shrubs and hard to negotiate at night. Pool was not maintained. The sites weren't level parked caravan annexe was sitting on uneven mounds and in dirt.
Added Touches: Jumping Pillow was great for the kids.
Local Information: Local area is great with plenty to do.
Roads: Road conditions were good busy in peak.

This seems to be primarily a park for annuals and we had to wonder about the eagerness to attract tourists, as the board out the front showed 'no vacancies' for powered sites during our stay when, in fact, there were four sites available near us. Friendly staff. Price was as expected, good value for money ($28.00 2A per night powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good. Managers are Robert & Judith East. Second visit to this site confirms our opinion as one of the best we have stayed in for a beach type holiday. Situated on a superb, private sandy, clean beach, it offers all a 5 star site should in the way of amenities. Full resort style swimming pool, kiddies pool, heated spa, fully equipped shop and cafe (surprisingly good food), Internet. One of the amenities block has been rebuilt since last year (and to be honest it was better than most last year in any case!) to first class standards. Cleaned at least 3 times a day (we saw them in at 1.00 am one morning). Roads have been sealed and kerbed since last year - all indicating a commitment to provide the very best. However this does not come cheap ($40- 2 adults plus $10 for kids, plus $5 for another car, plus $5 for air conditioner - which we refused to pay as it was only 20'C when we arrived!). It does get very busy over the Xmas New Year period - lots seem to re-book the same site for next year, but amenities do cope with it all. Have to say if you don't like kids stay away over holiday periods - there were millions of them! Night time curfew of 10.00 pm strictly maintained and management responded quickly in case of complaints. Also have full patrols all night by separate security guards so it is a very safe site. Most van sites are grassed without concrete, all are level, only some have sullage, and vary in size from very large, to van and awning only. It's a long hilly walk to Kiama and other beaches, but if you looking to sit back, relax, spend time on a glorious beach there is no-where we have found better.

Kendalls on the Beach Holiday Park, Kiama
Situated in Bonaria Street (on way to the little blowhole). Ph: 02 4232 1790 or 1800 111 224. Dogs allowed; Must be on leash at all times; Not allowed on beach.
Go through Kiama, on the way to Nowra, just before Nowra sign and bend in the road, is a sign hard to see that says Kendalls Beach. I was put on a small site too small for my van, and the manager was there soon after, and moved me to another site and directed me, he also went back to get me another TV cable as the other one was not long enough he thought. Very helpful. When I said the inside BBQ didn't work, he double checked, it did work anyway, just my mistake. Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, good value for money ($20 2A per night, powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is bad, there was adequate hot water, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, large sites, concrete annex slabs to some sites, shade to most sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good rec room, late checkout allowed (up to noon), good camp kitchen. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere, no permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground, no pool. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: I liked where the park was situated and a lovely view. The showers were locked so needed a key, nice camp kitchen, one BBQ outside and one inside. Nice walk into town also.
Dislikes: The road past some sites was a public access to road, so not too secure, had to take everything in at night, as there was a notice that things get taken. The best views were all taken up with cabins, the powered sites didn't have the great views.
Parking: Spot for check in
Local Information: Nice walk into town and the blowholes. The blowholes and little blowholes are great. Not a lot to do in Kiama but a nice town.
Roads: Great road

Dislikes: Could not find anything to dislike about this park.
Local Information: Kiama is a beautiful town, steeped in history. We were amazed how clean the town was with very little graffiti. The country around Kiama is very picturesque, and there is lots to see. We were only there for 3 days, but intend to go back as we ran out of time to see everything.

Manager's name is Ron & Joyce. A short distance from the centre of town but still close enough to walk. The park is relatively small with a combination of luxury cabins, on site vans and grass and hard stand, powered and unpowered sites and when possible visitors are given a number of sites to chose from. This park is a Council Park and would have to be one of the best we have found on the east coast of Australia. The facilities - laundry, camp kitchen, recreation room, cable TV, dump point and others - are well cared for and extremely clean and tidy. The park is very friendly and adjacent to a very picturesque beach and handy to many of the local tourist attractions. The most outstanding feature I believe the park has is it's camp kitchen. It is without doubt, one of the best equipped, we have ever come across. It is fully enclosed and acts as a recreation room as well. Nothing ever seems to be a problem for managers Ron and Joyce and I must say Ron is extremely competent in keeping kids, dogs and even the occasional adult under control (very politely). The park has all the basic needs and at $23.00 per night powered site is great value. It is not common for my wife and myself to return to the same park regularly, however we have stayed here several time over the past years and will definitely be returning. It is a park suited to extended stays of 2 to 3 weeks or more or just for a few days and I would certainly recommend it to anyone travelling in the Kiama area. I believe it to be the best value of several parks in the area. Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff helped us at the site. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Also late checkout allowed (past noon) and disabled facilities. Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean UC electric bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.

Surf Beach Holiday Park, Kiama
Adjacent to surf beach. Ph: 02 4232 1791 or 1800 222 334. No pets allowed.
Manager's name is Tony & Leonie Loiterton. Average staff friendliness, average staff response to complaints. Price was higher than expected, reasonable value for money ($58.00 A4 per night powered, shoulder period). I thought it was strange that site cost $26.00 per night but extra 2 people staying with us cost $32 per couple per night. I thought this is a little over the top for additional persons. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is bad, hot water was usually adequate but not when busy, paper towels/dryer provided, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, poor night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, hard to negotiate into site. Good laundry, basic rec room, late checkout allowed (past noon), good camp kitchen. Claustrophobic park, family/friendly atmosphere. Suitable for few days.
Likes: right on the surf beach. excellent position. would stay here again and put up with negatives just for the location.
Dislikes: Amenities block is old and run down. In need of refurbishment. It was dirty and the whole stay (4 days) I did not see this cleaned, even though park was only half full. Garbage bins were left outside amenities block and smell was unbearable as bins in front were overflowing but others behind these were empty. The site we were given initially was right on the border of the park with only a 2 foot high log fence separating the park from footpath. This meant that our Expanda van would over hang the footpath outside the park! Requested another site and was given a site with a steep driveway up to a concrete slab. Our van is raised but still scraped badly on the crest of the concrete driveway and were unsuccessful getting the van up, which most vans would have trouble with, so headed back to the office to request yet another site. Were then given a sloping grass site with 2 small square concrete pads for wheels to sit on. We stayed here but were lucky that no one was on site behind us when we left as would have got bogged trying to go off front ways.
Parking: Parking was poor and had to double park in front of boom gates and run in to register
Local Information: Kiama is a great place with lots to see and do. Day trip to Kangaroo Valley and Berry are a must.

Manager's name is Tony, Toni and Jan. This is a great park, we went too for a competition so got a special rate. Management are so helpful and put on a free BBQ for us. The location is just superb and is great. The dogs love the beach and the lagoon. The kangaroos that come around at night and the possums are so friendly they eat out of your hands. UC BBQ, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. Pool is open to sun. Suitable for a week or more.
Likes: I love where this park is situated right on the beach, it is truly dog friendly and the owners are great. It is a nice drive to places or can just spend your time doing nothing or lazing about on the beach. The owners are extremely nice and friendly and even corresponding by e-mail they were great. I would come back here again. WE requested a site next to the amenities the day we were coming, and we got a spot extremely close. The possums came down at night and were so cute and friendly. Nice to walk around the park with your dog or go down to the beach with the dog. If only all dog friendly parks were as "dog friendly" as this one.
Dislikes: There is no lighting around the powered sites. No BBQ around the powered site, all around the cabin area. Some sites are hard and small, our site was great and suited us great.
Parking: There is a check in bay
Local Information: There is not a lot at Kioloa but a nice drive to Ulladulla or Batemans Bay or you can just do nothing and walk along the beach.

Likes: I liked the fact that it took me back to the seventies type of camping\caravanning; most patrons were very friendly and the peaceful atmosphere. Proximity to the beach. Although this park was very crowded it still had a great atmosphere and most patrons were helpful and friendly.
Dislikes: No separate water taps for each site. I felt that we were squashed in the sites were too small. Having to pay 20 cents for three minutes of hot water for a shower.
Parking: Parking area just inside the driveway near to the registration office.
Added Touches: I loved the fact that the local butcher, green grocer, seafood shop and newsagent would come into the park every day or two, to sell their wares; saved having to go out of the park. Fires were allowed but only in fire pits and on non powered sites.
Local Information: Beach was good for fishing, some nice bushwalks but not much else though.

Clean heated pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for month or longer, suitable for families, well maintained park.
Likes: Close walk to the beach, town, board walk, and clubs.
Dislikes: Sites are quite close and it would be a tight fit in peak times to get a van over 20ft in a lot of sites.
Added Touches: Fuel and shop discounts.
Local Information: The board walk around the lake is well worth the 1.7k slow stroll with a cuppa at the Boat Shed a must at the end. Luntch at the Golf Club for $7.50 was great.

Dolphin Beach Caravan Park, Moruya Heads
UPDATED REPORT NEEDED

Merry Beach Caravan Park, Merry Beach
Ph: 02 4457 1065. Drive north of Batemans Bay for 20 minutes and follow the signs to Bawley Point. Merry Beach is a small seaside village 269km south of Sydney.
North of Batemans Bay. Turn off Princes Highway at Turmeil Service Station. Follow signs to Bawley Point, Kioloa then Merry Beach. A booking and deposit was paid months prior for a seven night stay in a cabin. On arrival I was met with friendly reception staff. I paid the remaining amount for the accommodation; they gave me a map and my cabin key. No further information was imparted. There was an information folder in the cabin but this was inadequate and out dated. After travelling all day I decided I would like to have a spa bath. The hot water ran out before the water reached the spa jets and the water was badly stained bore water (we were not advised about bore water). It took three complaints to reception staff before the unfriendly manager responded. We were then transferred to another cabin. This cabin was an upgrade to the one we had. There was no offer of assistance to move but we didn't mind this, as the upgrade was quite obvious. After this we visited the reception office on a couple of occasions to seek tourist information about the area and were greeted rather sourly but some basic information was given to us.
On the Tuesday evening my adult daughter took a spa. Once in the bath and having turned the jets on she reached over to turn the tap off and was sucked up against the spa water inlet. Her back was suctioned to this inlet (the off switch was located behind her so she could not reach to turn it off). My daughter was left with a very sore and bruised lower back. That night we wrote down what had happened and gave this report to grounds staff the next morning. We wanted the management to be aware of this problem so they could warn guests especially those with children. On Thursday afternoon the manager came and inspected the spa. We showed him the bruising on my daughters back. We were quite rudely told that he disbelieved us.
This park has potential but its management has something to be desired. It is wrongly advertised on television in Canberra as a Caravan Resort. The cabins are resort style but that is all that resembles a resort. There is no playground equipment, no kiosk and no recreation room. You have your accommodation and the pool; there are separate toilet and shower blocks for guests who have their own van or tent. Unfriendly staff, bad staff response to complaints. Price was as expected, poor value for money. Water pressure is bad, there was inadequate hot water, extra charge for shower, poor water quality. Poor laundry, no rec room. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade. It appeared that permanent residents were allowed pets but short-term guests were not. No playground. Clean pool is open to sun, pool area not considered kid-safe, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for few days
Likes: Abundant wildlife (kangaroos, rainbow lorikeets and possums) and the aesthetics of the pool. Secure boom gate entry.
Dislikes: Only very basic facilities. No playground & no recreation room. If you are not in a cabin you have to pay for your shower and pay to use the laundry facilities.
Local Information: Beautiful clean clear beaches. Part of the park is within the Murramarang National Park. Quite and secluded area. The Proprietors of the Merry Beach General Store are helpful and lovely (this store has no affiliation with the Park)

Some sites have a great view over the water. Unfriendly staff, no complaints. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($22 2A per night powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. Inadequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, late checkout allowed (up to noon), secure entry. Quiet, open and roomy, plenty of shade, too many permanents. Clean gas bbq ($1), dismal bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting. Suitable for a few days.
Likes: The view from some sites were great, but not ours. Our site was opposite the amenities. If we had a site on the other side of the amenities, our stay would have been a bit nicer, due to the level site and lovely view. The other guests there were friendly and all had dogs.
Dislikes: The BBQ was not all undercover, it was raining so got wet having a BBQ, sites are amongst the permanents. Not that level. In peak times, would have difficulty getting into the sites. Exiting the park with a caravan is extremely hard due to the angle and the boom gate. The key to the amenities didn't work too well, so was hard to open the door. Amenities was not cleaned at all and the paper towel dispenser kept falling off the wall every time you used it.
Parking: Not much off road parking.
Local Information: A few things around, tour to Montague Island which is what I went for, but being winter it wasn't on as there wasn't enough people for it.
Roads: Off Princes Highway, roads aren't too bad.

We asked for a refund within 10 mins of arrival. Poor directions to site despite asking for assistance. Sites poorly marked. Eventually asked a camper for location of site. Site was totally unsuitable for a large van - needed a 4WD to access it as it was so steep - would not have had sufficient chocks to ensure a level van. No sullage and no slabs. Water and power access two sites away. We had been on the road for two weeks and the most we paid for a powered site was $25 2A per night however this park charged $30 per night. Very poor value for money hence our request for a refund. We found a much nicer park a few kms further on which charged $25 per night. Only good thing about this park was the water views.

We stayed 5 nights on a powered site and our daughter and twin baby boys stayed in an adjacent on-site cabin. Quite comfortable and homely place. Reasonably well grassed, pick your own site. Well served by very big amenities block in good condition and with ample showers and toilets. Pool was well maintained. Friendly staff who offered tourist advice and explained park layout and facilities. Price was a little more than expected for the powered site, ($25.00 A2 per night powered) but good value for the cabin ($55.00 reduced by $10.00 per night because my daughter was travelling with the infants on her own.) Manager happy to supply microwave for heating babies' bottles. Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people. Amenities are close to all sites, clean and condition is very good. Water pressure is good and there was adequate hot water, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites. Pambula Beach Road. Turn off the Princes Highway at Pambula to Pambula Beach. Turn left at beach for park office. Ph: 02 6495 6363 or 1800 677 808. BIG4 member. No pets.
At end of Pambula Beach Road which runs from Pambula on Princes Highway. In summary, a well organised and managed park, especially set up for families with young children, but horrendously overcrowded in summer school holidays. Extremely expensive, given that availability of facilities like BBQ, showers diminishes at this time. Why do I go back? To catch up with friends made in previous trips. Friendly staff, average staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was much higher than expected, poor value for money ($534 2A 2C per week powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, small sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, dump point, secure entry. Noisy, claustrophobic park, not enough shade, family/friendly atmosphere, no permanents. Clean free electric bbq in congenial UC area, bbq area lighting, seating provided. Good playground in good condition. Clean heated pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for families, well maintained park.
Likes: The patrolled safe surf beach is 10 metres away, good kids program (up to 13), cleanliness of BBQ's which were cleaned 3 times a day, pools are high class, regular security sweeps, quiet after 10pm. This park would be excellent, 4.5 star even, if it was about half full and less expensive!
Dislikes: Its too big and crowded in January, and the sites are too small. Our site was narrow, no annexe pad, barely enough for guy ropes, no sullage and the road at the north end was dirt/grit so the van was always dirty. No area for outside furniture. BBQ's were usually a wait especially at dinner, camp kitchen the same. For $75 a night this is unacceptable.
Parking: When we got there after 8 hours driving, there was a half hour queue to book in.
Added Touches: Rotary had a cheap BBQ once a week, extra cars or boats at a cost, rec room good but always crowded, internet access was good, mini golf, some kids activities were free, trivia night for adults good, kids liked bingo.
Local Information: The beach was safe, but for most of the time had a green, slimy weed in it, making it unattractive for swimming or fishing. This has been the case for two years now. Given this is the major feature local authorities need to do something or the park will lose its popularity.
Date 01/2006. Park Rating 3.5: Suitable for a week or more.

Shellharbour Beachside Tourist Park, Shellharbour
Located John Street Shellharbour. Ph: 02 4295 1123. All pets allowed.
Manager's name is Daryl & Sandra Archer. Travelling with 4-legged babies requires some homework; well we found a great spot in Shellharbour. We were unsure if we would have to be called home at the drop of the hat to return to our elderly and frail dog that was being looked after by a kindly neighbour. We explained this to the staff at Shellharbour Beachside Tourist Park who immediately suggested a day by day stay which was our first introduction to their kind hospitality. Following close behind was the cleanliness of the amenities (and the keyed entry) and the affordability of the laundry services. They were the cheapest that our friends (whom we had joined) had experienced in their 3 month travel. The sites were generous and well grassed...and the views...well I guess we're a little biased down here in Merimbula...but they were at the very least, comparable to ours. Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff offered tourist advice, van parking assistance provided by staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, very good value for money ($22.50 2A per night powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, large sites, concrete annex slabs, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, late checkout allowed (past noon), dump point, secure entry, van parking. Quiet, open & roomy park, not enough shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Basic playground in good condition. Clean pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Dislikes: Although there was a mixed business just up the road, I would have liked to have been able to purchase the paper from the office.
Parking: There is a car park for visitors & disabled and enough room for 2 cars & vans to line up
Local Information: The Shellharbour City area is the heart of the Illawarra holiday playground, nestled between the bustling city of Wollongong in the north and picturesque Kiama in the south. Likes: Sites opposite the water, rec. room close to our site.
Dislikes: Cleaning was done between 8:45 and 9:30 am. Even if there was a female in the amenities, the male cleaner would still come in. When complaint was made, excuses were given. Not Impressed! Unusual way where vans were to be parked behind another. Not sure how this would have worked as we parked side by side with our friends. There would have been no way we could have parked behind another van as there was a fence.
Local Information: The Shoalhaven/Nowra area has many tourist attractions. The scenery all along the coast is beautiful as is the mountains inland.

Poor management. Poor value for money. Average amenities. Poor sites, drive-through sites were available, hard to negotiate in to/out of site Laundry, rec room, security entry to park. Poor atmosphere to park. Clean gas bbq. Good pool rating. Suitable for overnighter, the park was well maintained.
Dislikes: Rudeness. Lack of assistance at turning power on. Distance from tourist sites to amenities. BBQ's etc all grouped in one area away from tourist sites. High cost of laundry and bbq's. 50% deposit on booking seems excessive.
Local Information: Good club handy. Pleasant Hotel 1.5km away. 2km to river to fish.

Shoalhaven Heads Tourist Park, Shoalhaven Heads
Shoalhaven Heads Road. Take the turn off to Shoalhaven heads, keep going till the end of the road at the T intersection. Ph: 02 4448 7178 or 1300 782 222. No pets allowed.
Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, good value for money ($30-45 2A per night powered). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, basic rec room, secure entry. Quiet, open & roomy park, not enough shade, too many permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Good playground in good condition. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park.

Likes: Level van sites, 2 separate camp areas, one beach side, one river side, with the permanent vans - campers without kids were at the river side so it was quieter than beach side where all the families were.

Dislikes: 6 digit code plus # needed to get into the park and amenities, number too hard to remember for amenities. Wall ashtray just outside the door of the amenities, at face height, this stunk every time you went past it to get inside the amenities. Only 4 sites had a concrete slab, drainage when it rained wasn't great.

Parking: Parking just before the office.
Added Touches: Half tennis court, basketball and volleyball area, mini golf, opposite local pool.
Local Information: Park is close to the shops, pub and club, next to a golf course. Short walk to the beach.

Aloha Caravan Park, St Georges Basin
Ph: 02 4443 4211. No pets allowed.
We rang to enquire if they had powered sites and were told yes, to arrive to find that the powered site we were offered was in fact lake frontage land accessible via the boat ramp access that was adjacent to a public park at the rear of the caravan park which had onsite/permanent vans crammed into every square inch of space. We paid top dollar for off peak for an appalling ablutions block that is probably never used by any of the permanents. The men’s showers (some of which had taps and roses missing had only curtained shower cubicles of the main area with no separate drying and change cubicles, The women’s showers required a coin payment for water. We ended up using the public toilets in the park next door as they were closer and we couldn't bring ourselves to use the showers. We did however make the mistake of using the washing machines which had no hot water available and put more dirty marks on the washing than they had before they were washed and it has since taken three subsequent washes to remove all the stains. We did manage to hook up to power and water which we were told was storm water (which was concerning). We would not return to this park under any circumstances. Friendly staff, average staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was much higher than expected, poor value for money ($30 2A per night, off-peak season). Inadequate number of amenities, are close to only some sites, cleanliness was average, condition is poor, extra charge for shower. Inadequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, no sites with concrete annex slabs, no sites are shaded, hard to negotiate into site. Poor laundry, no rec room, claustrophobic park, not enough shade, too many permanents. No bbqs, no playground, no pool.

Friendly staff. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($24.30 2A per night powered). Amenities are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs, hard to negotiate into site. Quiet, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere. Clean UC electric bbq ($1), did not work, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Suitable for a week or more, well maintained park.
Likes: It was right on the beach, you walked about 50m to the beach, which was off leash for dogs. They also had a dog bath, but unfortunately it was only cold water in winter. Some sites overlooked the beach, but no site was far from the beach. It was also close to town, only problem is to walk to town was up a steep windy road. There were also shops within walking distance.
Dislikes: The BBQ's did not work and some were not under shelter and it was raining. Paying $1 for a BBQ. Some drive through sites would have been nice, I could not see any but that is being picky, as you could not stay hitched up.
Parking: Parking to check in.
Added Touches: Fish cleaning table I think, ensuites (not sites) but individual bathrooms that people could use instead of communal one. Dog bath tub in laundry (better if it had hot water).
Roads: The roads were fine.
