Australian Caravan Park Reports
Information for Park Owners and Managers
This website resides on a community information portal hosted and managed by Vicnet, a division of the State Library of Victoria. Please see their Legal Disclaimer. The content of this website is not that of Vicnet, they simply host the website for me.
No person can claim to be a representative of Australian Caravan Park Reports. Park operators should not be swayed by any person purporting to represent myself or this website. I have no problem with park users telling park operators that they will be submitting a report to this website as long as they only mention this at the end of their stay. Any user mentioning to a park operator at the start of their stay that they will be submitting a report should be reported to me via email - that person is possibly seeking favours, trying to influence you, and their unbiased opinion is detrimental to your industry.
It is important to note that the reports within are the facts and opinions of users of your caravan parks. I read each report and where there appears to be a bias, I will contact the contributor and usually also the park manager to query the report. If I am not satisfied that the report is accurate I will not publish the report.
Any park operator has the right to challenge the factual accuracy of any report on their park. It is humanly impossible for me to verify every fact submitted by other park users. If you feel a report is inaccurate in facts, please email me with the details. I will immediately investigate the report with the contributor, or in most cases immediately correct the error. Please be aware though, that simply not liking what a person has said about your park (for example, unfriendly staff, pool filthy, or amenities unclean) usually remains in a report, however if there does appear a genuine bias I will remove the report.
Park operators are welcome to submit factual comments about their park at any time and I will include them in the reports. For example, I will accept comments such as "In July 2004 we built a new amenity block in addition to the current ones".
This website is to allow park users to comment on and view the quality of a caravan park, not simply rate at a caravan park by the type and number of facilities offered. Prospective users can then compare the quality of a park with others in the same area. In a nut-shell, back in the 1990's I got sick and tired of arriving at a 4-star park, to find the amenities unkempt, the staff rude, and the whole experience of that park thoroughly disappointing. Over the years, literally many hundreds of people have said the same thing in conversations at caravan parks, through personal emails, and via the various online caravan forums. Having said that, the majority of caravan parks do maintain a good standard and are recognised for such in their reports. If your park has not rated as well as you would like, then ask yourself if there are things you can improve upon - your business can then only improve, can't it? Tell your guests about this website if you want to read honest feedback.
Like what people have said about your park? I can create a report for you to put on your notice board. Just ask me. No charge. See an example here.
Finally, as mentioned above, please feel free to email me with comments (facts) about your park. Remember, I am human, I take great pains to be fair to all, and I respond better to politeness than threats.
