How to use Google Maps to locate parks

Last updated April 24, 2012
See what's been added

This web site contains caravan park reviews, as rated by the people who stay in them - YOU - the caravanners, campers,  motorhomers, and cabin users - unlike the usual park rating system used in standard guides (read Rating System Explained). Campgrounds, station stays, and roadside rest areas are also included. Read what people say about this website.

This is NOT a commercial website that makes you join to submit reviews. All work on this site is 100% voluntary since 1998.

There will be occasions where improvements to a park have occurred since a review was submitted, and conversely a park may have fallen below the reported standard over the years. For this reason people should still send park reviews even though ones exist, purely to maintain the reports as current as possible. Caravan park operators are free to submit updates to their listings - see Information for Park Operators.

This web site is a totally free service to everyone

This site is currently averaging over 50,000 page hits per month; that's a lot of people who could help others if they submitted a report. Please help by easily and quickly submitting a report on parks, campgrounds and rest areas you have visited. I do my bit by freely maintaining the site, so please do your bit by submitting reports - fair enough?

The Reports

(DFP) denotes Dog Friendly Park. Because a park is not noted as DFP, may mean that I have not been informed it is DFP - ask when booking.   (Campground) denotes any National/State Park or free campgrounds, or showground camping.   (Rest Area) denotes free roadside rest area.   (Station Stay) denotes a campground or caravan park operated by working cattle/sheep stations.  The (bracketted) number after the contributors name denotes the number of reports they have made since 2007.

Queensland (1448 reports)

Campground, Rest Area & Station Stay Index

My Park List provides a full list of Australian caravan parks, created by Gary Stratton. This is the only caravan park search website I use because it is so up to date. Contact details and a Google map of the park's location, as well as a seperate DFP list, is provided. Lots of easy search options. Listings will link back to reports on this website if a report is available. Conversly, a link to park details on Gary's website is now provdied at each park listing within this website.

Caravanning Links lists information about caravanning, online caravan forums, caravans, motorhomes, 4WDs, club associations, finding places to stay, Dump Points around Australia, people's travel diaries and much more.

All Things Caravan for manufacturers, rentals, storage, servicing & repairs.

OzCamps is a free-camping map and database by Brett Kinross. Interactive map, allows you to instantly add free-camping areas you know. The database can be downloaded to your GPS.

Caravan Park Photos allows you to see what a park looks like from various photos supplied by John Townsend and other travellers.
