Thinking about visiting Ascot Vale Uniting
for the first time? Here is what you can expect:
Everyone is welcome to attend and experience our worship service.
It doesn't matter if you have no religion, are of another religion,
or if you've simply never been to church before. You will be greeted
warmly, treated with dignity, and your privacy will be respected.
No one will try to "convert you" to Christianity or
to our particular form of it.
Do I have to stand up in front of people?
We will not ask you to stand up and introduce yourself in front
of everyone. We want you to be comfortable when you visit. We
think that you will be more comfortable meeting a few people seated
around you who are genuinely interested in getting to know you.
When are the services and how long do they last?
Services are on Sundays at 10 am. They last for about an hour
and you are welcome to stay for a coffee after.
Are children welcome?
We are delighted to welcome your children
into our worship experience. They are welcome to join in with
our Children's Church Program. You may accompany
your child if you wish, and stay for all or part of the program.
Do you want my money?
No. If you are a visitor, we don't expect you to give. For
now, we want you to have an opportunity to check us out without
feeling pressured to give money. In time, if you decide to become
a part of our community, you may decide that you would like to
contribute towards our activities and efforts.
Do I have to dress up?
No. You are welcome to come as you are. If you join us on Sunday,
you will see some people wearing suits and dresses, but you will
also see people wearing jeans and slacks. Please wear clothes
that make you feel comfortable.
