Paradiddle

It is late afternoon. You are standing in a narrow bluestone paved lane. In front of you is a large renovated stable without windows. Set into its sturdy wall is a metal door with a sign hanging from it. Beside the door is a small blackboard with some chalk sitting on its ledge. You spy a grimy brass doorbell that looks as if it hasn't been rung in years. North: the busy main street of Paradiddle. South: A dead end.

Dark Alley, Shandling, Paradiddle.

What do the mysterious symbols mean?

Fact: In 1850, a Marian resident, Aangela Fisher, claimed she was Shirley MacLaine.
