Barbie Park

Martial

In an inane attempt for Australis to gain an entry in the Guinness Book of Records, the Martial government built what they hoped would be the world's largest outdoor barbecue - 50 metres by 100 metres. However, the day before its completion, the Van Diemonians unveiled a less sophisticated but larger (60 metres by 120 metres) barbecue.

The following week, Australist President Flappo in his inaugural speech promised "a new frontier" for barbecues, which led to the launch of the Achilles Program, with the nation's top scientists, engineers and chefs developing a powerful solar powered barbecue satellite capable of cooking hamburgers, sausages and onion rings by directing a beam from outer space.

This quiet park not only contains the original barbecue (Sizzle I) - now hypnotically popular with rollerbladers - but also a memorial to the gastronauts of Sizzle XI who died in a fat fry-up incident.
