The Conran Club Paradiddle |
Behind its distressed iron door you'll find the explanation for Paradiddle's careful Mock Industrial pretensions, what the locals will anonymously tell you is the home of the town's aesthetic police. The membership of the Conran is secret but widely reputed to be made up of local Arts Council members, graphic designers and architects. Tours of the minimal but impractical premises are rare, but if you are lucky enough to go on one, you will be asked to observe the strict dress code and wear a black polo neck sweater.
