Tangles Diner

Callamooloo

4/5 $$$$ Tangles' autistic clientele, its old linoleum panelling and waiters in cleverly sloganned t-shirts make it one of this town's culinary hotspots. Getting a table for lunch is not difficult; dinner is a different story.

At night - especially after the local M&N convenience store closes - the lime-green vinyl dinettes are jammed with telephone sanitisers, writers of classified ads, home movie editors, and aspiring waiters dining on such exotic fare as Steak and Chips, Salad Rolls and Burger with the Lot washed down with a nice fizzy soda.

If you only stop for a take-away coffee or a box of matches, this restaurant is worth a visit. Another attractive quality of Tangles is its refusal to admit customers accompanied by friends or horses.

W-M 11pm-7am. Reservations recommended. Dine 'n' wash available. 49 School Road, Bosch, Callamooloo.
Ph: 874.02.52.1252

One of Tangle's witty slogans - You don't have to be crazy but it helps.
