JUST WHO IS TIM ERICKSON

Hi, I am Tim Erickson. Now what is a sane bloke like me doing involved in such a strange group as the Australian Centurion Club. Well...read on for some brief details

Here I am in my heyday as a walker Here I am in my heyday as a walker. Press here to see a bigger version of this picture.

I started race walking at school in 1966 but gave it away to study and did not return to it until 1973 at age 22. I competed until forced to retire with recurrent knee injuries in 1983. In the intervening period, I had a great time and became a Centurion along the way. My best times were as follows

1500m 5:36
3000m           11:53
10 Km 42:32
20 Km 87:12
30 Km 2:15:47
50 Km 4:03:17
100 Miles  22:10:27

and major career highlights included

I also dabbled in competitive cycling, running and triathlons with some success upon retiring from top-line racewalking but I won't bore you with the details. I still have the occasional walk but am happy to put back into the sport as an administrator rather than to compete. I am married with 4 grown up boys (ranging in age from 19 to 26) and live in Melbourne. I am currently the secretary of the Australian Centurions Club and maintain these pages. I am also secretary of the Victorian Race Walking Club and maintain their webpages also.

By profession, I work in the IT field as a 'Middleware' consultant and dabble with software on mainframe, midrange and Windows computers for a living. It's different!
