AQIPP
AQIPP (Australian Quilts in Public Places) is an initiative of
the AQA designed to enhance public awareness and appreciation of
quilts. Every two years the AQIPP committee organises an exhibition,
open to all, which is hung in a public building. The owner or occupier
of the building agrees on a theme, the exhibition is judged, and
the winning quilt is acquired by the AQA and permanently displayed
in the chosen venue. The winner receives a substantial cash prize.
AQIPP: A new AQIPP Committee, comprising Susan King, Margaret Fleming, Margaret Tilley, Jacqy Wong, Denise Matthews
Paddy Childs Green, Mary Wheeler, Ann Cocks and Olga Walters, was convened.
The next AQIPP exhibition, From Red Rocks to Coral Sea, is scheduled for March 30 - May 27, 2007 at the Bundoora Homestead Art Centre. Further details
will be soon available in The Quilters Patch and in the Yearly
Diary section of this site.
