Hello and Happy New Year to all Members and fellow Quilters. I hope you all had a happy and safe
Christmas and New Year. Welcome to 2009 the Year A.Q.A will celebrate its 30th Birthday. What a milestone!
Apart from our normal meeting times, the year will start off with a bus trip (See notice on page 3).The plan
was hatched when I thought I would like to go to Bendigo to see the Golden Age of Couture Exhibition at some
stage, then I wondered who would like to go with me and then I thought if I ask my friendship group we would
have to take two cars, my next thought was why don't we hire a Mini bus and try to fill it. When I asked the
Members who were at the last SitnSew in December if any of them would like to go I suddenly had a enough for a
bigger bus. At this stage the plan is to visit the 2 quilt shops in Bendigo (they close at 12) then have some lunch,
on to the Exhibition then on the way home stop off at Castlemaine for some more retail therapy; however I am
open to suggestions.
On Monday 16th March Leonie and Bill West designers of the Westalee Rulers will be with us to demonstrate
how easy and accurate they are to use.
So as you can see it will be an exciting and busy start to our celebration year and with our biennial Exhibition
also coinciding with our Birthday the committee hope to make it a memorable one for us all
