| The society holds an order-in-council to restore and operate the
Yarra Glen-Healesville portion of the former Vic Rail line as a Tourist railway. Operations are based at Healesville Railway Station, which is on the Historic Buildings Register.
The railway is steadily rebuilding the
line between Healesville and Yarra Glen.
Reconstruction work is also under way at
the Yarra Glen end of the railway and
it is anticipated that trolleys
will operate from here in the future.
This is while bridges are
reconstructed to allow trains to run
towards the tunnel from Yarra Glen.
Restoration of rolling stock is also
proceeding. A
steam engine is under repair and
carriages and other rolling stock are
also being restored. |
The Walker Railmotor RM22 runs every
Sunday of the year from Healesville to the Tunnel Hill block post
which is westward of the tunnel.
.Trolleys or Railmotor RM22 will operate on public
holidays and Wednesdays during school
holidays..
Trips commence every hour between 10:00am to 4:00pm.
