The Seymour Railway Heritage Centre was established in 1983 as the Seymour Loco Steam Preservation Group to restore and operate Steam Locomotive J515. The Group was made up of many different people, including past and present railway staff.
The Centre offers only limited vistor facilities at present, as the Depot is primarily a work area and is therefore not specifically designed for visitors. However, visits by interested people are always welcome, and inspections by schools and special interest groups can be accommodated by prior arrangement. The depot is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and most weekends.
Location:The depot is adjacent to the former Victorian Railways Locomotive Depot at the Seymour 'Seymour Loco'.
By Road: via Hume Highway from Melbourne.
Public Transport:Take train to Melbourne. Check the Viclink web site for information.
