The South Gippsland Railway operates 40km of rural railway between Nyora and Leongatha serving the towns of Leongatha, Korumburra, Loch and Nyora. The SGR provides  diesel services on the former VR mainline. The line is the steepest mainline in Victoria as it traverses the Strezelecki Ranges. The railway is fully accredited and is operated predominantly by volunteers. The railway may be contacted at  info@sgr.org.au

Trains return to  Nyora on the 12 January  2008 and services on each  day of  operation will run between  Nyora  and Leongatha.

Trains run between Nyora, Loch, Korumburra and Leongatha every Sunday and  on the third Saturday of the  month. The first train leaves Korumburra at 11:00am. Trains also run most public holidays. Tourist trains will  also run each Wednesday of School Holidays.

The South Gippsland Tourist Railway is holding a Centenary Weekend on  12th and 13th of January to celebrate the birthday of Korumburra Station which turns 100, also the re-opening of the line between Loch and Nyora and the re-commissioning of  17CW Guards Van which was  originally built in the early 1900's. For the entire weekend fares are set at $20 per adult $10 per child or concession or $60 per family, tickets are available for travel all day on the entire route which  takes just over 3 hours to complete. Location: Trains depart from Nyora, Leongatha and Korumburra. These towns are approximately 90mins by  road from the south east of Melbourne.
By Road: via Monash Freeway ( South Eastern Arterial ), and South Gippsland Highway.
Public Transport:V/Line road coach services from Melbourne. Limited connections. Check the Viclink web site for information.
