Legislative and Regulatory Changes for Heritage Rail
Topics discussed at the 2006 Seminar at
Hawthorn.
The Seminar was
held over the weekend of 29 and 30 July
2006 and was to provide our members with information
on the changes required by all Tourist and
Heritage Railways in the State of Victoria.
The new Rail Safety Act 2006 and the
subsequent Regulations came into operation on 31
July 2006. The Department of Infrastructure has
provided in the Regulations a three year
transitional phase and will assist Tourist
and Heritage railway Operators to meet the new
requirements. These new rules apply to all railways
and tramways which have a track gauge of 600mm and
larger.
A number of papers and reports were
prepared for the Seminar and the majority of
these documents can be accessed by clicking
on the links. All documents have been converted from
the original PowerPoint Presentations and can
be accessed from this page. For those readers who
have access to Power Point the entire document
is available separately and are separately linked. Other
documents are
in PDF format and a reader can be down loaded from
Adobe.
Pages open separately and should be each closed
to return to this page.
