The Association of Tourist Railways Inc. is the peak body for the Tourist Railway Industry primarily in the State of Victoria, Australia. Among many other activities, the Association represents its members collectively or individually in matters which affect the interests of its members. As part of the Association's Purposes, it provides services regarding training standards, medical standards, railway operating standards and systems. The Association operates a system of examination of railway operating staff and provides syllabi and examiners to undertake this activity. Certificates of competency are issued to successful candidates. Membership of the Association is open to heritage railway organisations in two classes. Full members are incorporated and functional bodies who have rail infrastructure, rolling stock, and have an appropriate rail safety management system. Associate members are incorporated and functional bodies which do not meet the above criteria.
