Girls and AS

Date:     Tuesday 18th August at 7.30pm

Venue:   The Nerve Centre, 54 Railway Pde, Blackburn

Often girls with Asperger's Syndrome are diagnosed later in life, and even when they have a diagnosis their difficulties may be overlooked due to their different presentation and the coping mechanisms they may have developed. Sally will talk about why this may be occurring and how we can help them cope with their Asperger's, as well as the unique difficulties they face simply by "being girls".  She will also touch on anxiety and how it is shown in girls with Asperger's and how it affects them within school and home environments.

Sally Rigley is a registered psychologist who holds a Masters Degree in Developmental and Educational Psychology, specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has had extensive experience in the field working as both a psychologist, specialist therapist, integration aide and in diagnosis of ASDs.
