Film buffs and art lovers in Melbourne are given a rare opportunity to closely exaimine the extensive works behind the remarkable cinematic images of from one of the most essential filmmaker of the 20th century.

Curated by the Deutsches Filmmuseum, Frankfurt am Main and Christiane Kubrick/Stanley Kubrick Estate, "Stanley Kubrick: Inside the Mind of a visionary filmmaker" showcases Inside the Mind of a visionary filmmaker more than 1000 props, costumes, models, written notes, sketches, clippings and audio-visual installations associated with his early photographer works, 3 short documentary films, 11 feature films (including 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Lolita, Dr Strangelove and Eyes Wide Shut) and 2 unfinished projects (Napolean and Aryan Papers).

As part of 2005 Melbourne on Screen program, the exhibition is now touring at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Melbourne until 29 January.

The ARTS alive website presents some highlights of the exhibition and a live recording of its launch, with the Premier of Victoria Steve Bracks and the ACMI director Tony Sweeney, on 24 November, 2005.
