    Amir Farid

  • Amir Farid, winner of this year's Australian National Piano Award. Amir's family, followers of the B'Hai faith, fled Iran in the face of religious persecution before settling in Australia. He is from a talented family. His cousin, Mojgan Khadem, wrote and directed the Australian feature film "Serenades".

  • Lisa Gerrard, Australian musician whose ethereal works are revered by fans all over the world. First gained recognition with her musical collaboration with Brendan Perry in the musical group Dead Can Dance, she has received accolades for her award winning soundtracks to films such as Michael Mann's The Insider, Ridley Scott's Gladiator, and her work featured in Niki Caro's beautiful film Whale Rider

    Silver Tree Lisa has just recently released a new album 'The Silver Tree' as well as a DVD - 'Sanctuary'. Produced and directed by Clive Collier, the DVD offers many insights into Lisa's work.

  • Our guest is the retiring Commonwealth Minister for the Arts, Senator the Hon. Rod Kemp. The program was recorded on the morning of 23 January 2007. The interview was foreshortened by the news the Prime Minister John Howard was holding a press conference in Canberra at 11:45 am and we both sat in Sen. Kemp's office and watched on Sky News as the Prime Minister announced a reshuffle of the inner and outer Cabinet.

    Senator Kemp, who had previously announce that he would not contest the next election, having been in Parliament since 1990, was replaced as Minister for the Arts and Sport by Senator George Brandis from Queensland. This program concludes with an edited version of the Prime Minister's announcement of 23 January.

Her most recent work are the screenplay for the intriguingly titled "Unfolding Florence: The Many Lives of Florence Broadhurst" - a part-dramatised, feature length documentary based on the life of Florence Broadhurst, one of the most colourful characters in Sydney in the 1960s and 1970s, whose murder in 1977 remains unsolved today; and ABC's 2-part mini-series "Answered by Fire".
