Australian circuses and physical theatre companies strut their stuff in Montreal* Canada* and Youth Empowerment Against HIV/AIDS* also known as YEAH* are staging a costume* jewellery* and art exhibition and auction* to raise funds for their fight against HIV/AIDS. Our guest is romance-fantasy author CECELIA DART-THORNTON.  Her first three books, the BITTERBYNDE TRILOGY, attracted the largest advance ever paid to a first-time Australian author.  The first volume of her second offering, the CROWTHISTLE CHRONICLES, is in the bookshops now, for her zillions of fanatical readers*  And we follow up on the work of FIONA McCOLL whose CD of cross cultural - multi-lingual music* prose and poetry* recorded in the Northern Territory has just been release. One Australian cultural institution farewelling another* DAME EDNA EVERAGE farewelling the long running TV program Burke's Backyard.  It was a reminder of what a cut throat business commercial television is.  It wasn't that Burke's Backyard didn't have a big and appreciative audience* but they were the wrong audience* wrong age* wrong spending power* so it was HOO ROO to Don Burke and the family for the last time*

Hoo Roo DON* Representatives from many of Australia's circuses and physical theatre companies have just spent a week in Montreal* Canada.  Among them was LINDA MICKLEBOROUGH from CIRCUS OZ.  We asked her what drew her and many of her colleagues to Montreal in the autumn*

LINDA MICKLEBOROUGH* general manager of CIRCUS OZ.  Their BLUE Show is at the Spiegel Tent in Melbourne until 4 December* before playing Sydney in January* followed by Brisbane and regional Queensland. One of the biggest obstacles in the fight against HIV/AIDS is complacency and silence.  One loud voice is that of Alicia Ross who founded Y.E.A.H*  Youth Empowerment Against HIV/AIDS after her family was touched by AIDS.  Their exhibition of costumes* jewellery* paintings* photos and sculptures is on at the Melbourne Museum and will be auctioned to raise funds.  ANNA BRAIN met with Alicia Ross to preview the exhibition*

Earlier this year*  NICOLE FINDLAY spoke with FIONA McCOLL for Arts Alive about the Widkidi Reconciliation and Healing Ceremony* which took place in Darwin between her family and the Wirrpanda family of north-east Arnhem Land. As a follow up*  FIONA was invited to the WIRRPANDA family's home in DHURUPUTJPI* four hours drive from DARWIN* to record a CD of cross cultural - multi-lingual music* prose* and poetry.  The CD* titled Salt Water* Fresh Water* was launched mid November when NICOLE caught up with her and first asked how the recording session went*
