This week* The third of our interviews with the party spokespeople from the four political alignments that will influence the direction of national arts and policy after the next election. On August 14th last month* visual artists and their supporters staged simultaneous demonstrations in art galleries in every capital city in Australia.  The protest was titled Say No to Nothing .  It was to highlight the meagre returns most visual artists get for their work* and to seek restoration of reasonable fees from public galleries when their work is included in exhibitions financed from the public purse.  We briefly reported on the demonstration in Melbourne* but for a report on the demonstrations nationally we spoke to Sydney artist and activist GAIL HASTINGS*.
